Chapter 17 A Very Important Day

After staring blankly at Chen Cheng's worried face for a moment, Shatang's eyes suddenly widened, her emerald pupils trembled, and her body subconsciously moved back, creating a small distance between her and Chen Cheng.

Her mouth was open, as if she wanted to say something, but no sound came out.

Although he didn't know what happened, Chen Cheng clearly sensed the fear overflowing from Shatang's eyes...

Was it because of the nightmare? Other than that, Chen Cheng really couldn't think of anything that could make Shatang become like this.

Thinking of this, Chen Cheng tentatively moved his suspended hand towards Shatang again.

Seeing that Shatang had no intention of resisting this time, Chen Cheng placed his hand on the top of Shatang's head and comforted her softly, "It's okay, I'm here. Everything... depends on me."

Sandang hugged the quilt, her ears drooping, her mood depressed, and she nodded silently.

Chen Cheng didn't know, or rather, only Shatang herself knew that what she was afraid of just now was not a nightmare, but that Chen Cheng was getting closer and closer to her...

Only after Shatang's condition improved a little did Shen Cheng leave the bedroom.

Because the bedroom curtains had not been drawn, as soon as the door was opened, the dazzling sunlight was reflected from the living room. Only then did Shen Cheng realize that it was already noon.

"Hui Hui only has classes in the morning, she will probably be back soon..." While muttering to himself, Shen Cheng opened the refrigerator door, and a wide variety of cakes and desserts came into view, making Shen Cheng feel embarrassed.

I should be able to finish these...right?

After thinking about it in his mind, the corner of Shen Cheng's mouth twitched.

Damn it, I’ll do less next time!

"Senior, why are you closed today? Did something happen..."

Lin Yuhui, who had just entered the room, took off her shoes and looked around for Chen Cheng. As a result, when she turned around, she was stunned and stopped talking.

After a long while, she stammered, "Senior, what happened? Did the cat cafe...close down?"

"Huh?" Shen Cheng, who had just walked out of the kitchen, looked confused. He turned his head in the direction of Lin Yuhui and saw the terrifying mountain of cakes on the table. Only then did he react.

With a twitch of his lips, Shen Cheng said, “Today, Shatang has a relative coming over, so the store is closed for a break. These snacks that were made in advance have not been sold.”

"Sugar...relatives coming?" Lin Yuhui took a while to react, her cheeks slightly red, and there was some disbelief in her words, but Chen Cheng had no reason to lie to her.

Seeing Chen Cheng's serious expression and shrug, Lin Yuhui puffed out her cheeks and said, "You didn't even bother calling me when you got into trouble. It's obviously not important whether you attend the class or not..."

"Don't say that. You still have to go to class. It won't be a big deal if the cat cafe is closed for one day." As he said that, Chen Cheng picked up a plate of steamed cakes and handed it to Lin Yuhui.

After taking a bite of the steamed cake, she said with some resentment, "What if we lose customers..."

"Don't worry about that. I have absolute confidence in my cat cafe!" Chen Cheng patted his chest and assured, but in return he got a roll of the eyes from the landlady.

After Lin Yuhui repeatedly emphasized, "Be sure to call me if you're too busy next time!", Chen Cheng ran to wake up the sleeping Cheese and Sugar.

"Huh?" Seeing Cheese waking up from Chen Cheng's bedroom, Lin Yuhui was stunned for a moment, then looked at Chen Cheng with extremely sharp eyes.

Chen Cheng, who was rubbing Cheese's head, felt like a thorn in his back for a moment. After looking at the landlady for a second, he decisively admitted his mistake and hurriedly explained.

After a long explanation, Lin Yuhui finally believed it, but she still looked at the man and two cats in front of her with a vigilant look.

No way... was my house really robbed?

Lunch was naturally the pile of cakes that Shen Cheng hadn't sold. For this pile of cakes, the division of labor among them was quite clear.

The landlady likes to eat the steamed cakes made by Chen Cheng, while Sugar likes the egg tarts made by Chen Cheng, and needless to say, Cheese has a special liking for cheesecake.

Shen Cheng didn't make too many other types of cakes because their sales were not high, but even so, there were still a considerable number, which were all left to Shen Cheng to deal with himself.

In the end, the two people and the two cats were so full that they had to pat their stomachs and look up at the sky. They barely raised their heads to look at the table where there were still a lot of untouched cakes. Shen Cheng couldn't help but feel like crying.

"Senior, why don't you hire a pastry chef..." Lin Yuhui suggested, frowning at the pile of cakes. "That way, we can easily handle customer orders and avoid the situation where pastries are made in advance but not sold."

“That makes sense…” Shen Cheng, who had already given up hope on making a cake with two cats, nodded in agreement with Lin Yuhui’s proposal.

With his bulging belly swaying from side to side, he returned to his bedroom, printed out a recruitment form, and filled a plastic bag with cakes. Then, Shen Cheng pushed the door open and prepared to go out.

"Senior, are you going to throw away these cakes?" Lin Yuhui's voice sounded a little regretful.

"Feed the cat!" Shen Cheng left a hasty message and pushed the door open.

Hearing this, Lin Yuhui was confused for a moment and wanted to ask something, but Shen Cheng had already left.

Cats... can't eat sweets?
