"Okay, I'll tell the adults, you go ahead."
Chen Heng didn't dare to stay any longer and left in a hurry.
The sun was shining brightly, but her body was cold and her steps were a little weak. She tried not to think about what had just happened, and only then did she feel better.
When he arrived at the entrance of the alley where his home was, he saw his sister-in-law waiting for him at the door.
"Aheng, why are you so late today?" When Xia saw her sister-in-law, Xi, coming, she turned around and went into the kitchen to get some rice.
Chen Heng tried her best to look normal, but she only ate one-third of her lunch.
The following afternoon, Chen Heng was not in the right state of mind. The scene of the man in black being shot kept flashing through her mind. The sound of the arrow flying into the flesh and blood was obviously just a small sound, but for some reason, she always felt that it was magnified in her mind.
Chen Heng knew that this was called post-traumatic stress disorder, which everyone would experience. It would probably take her several days to recover.
For dinner, Xia made her favorite scrambled eggs with broom. Shen Heng found that her appetite had recovered a little and she ate half a bowl of rice.
"You eat so little today?" Xia asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?" When she first got married, Ah Heng ate very little. Later, her appetite improved. She could drink two bowls of porridge and eat a bowl of dry rice. She was happy to see it. As a woman, it is better to be a little fatter.
Chen Heng nodded: "Maybe she ate a lot of snacks in the shop." After all, she did want to lose weight. She used to be thin, but now she has a good appetite and has gained a lot of weight.
The nights in March get dark very quickly.
After dinner, night had fallen and the sky was full of twinkling stars.
Xia was tidying up in the kitchen. Shen Heng went to close the courtyard door. Just as she was about to bolt it, she heard a woman outside calling, "Madam Xia?"
"Who is it?" Chen Heng opened the door and saw a man wearing a bamboo hat sneering at her. Before she could react, her vision went dark and she was knocked unconscious.
When Chen Heng regained consciousness, she found that her hands were tied and her eyes were blindfolded. She didn't know where she was, and there was a lot of hay under her.
Just as she was struggling to remember, she heard a man's voice faintly: "Why waste so much energy? Just kill him directly."
"Who knows? We'll do whatever the boss says."
"Who?" someone shouted nervously.
The next moment there was no sound.
Just as Shen Heng was in doubt, she noticed someone approaching her. Quickly, the rope and scarf on her hands were untied.
"Mrs. Shen, are you okay?" Gu Feng's voice was deafening.
Dark.
It took Shen Heng a while to see the person in front of her clearly, and her panicked mind calmed down: "Brother Gu, what happened?"
"This is not the time to talk." Gu Feng pulled her out.
As soon as she walked out, before Shen Heng could look around, she saw a familiar figure who looked very similar to Lu Ji'an.
"Lord Lu?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he heard someone shouting not far away: "The traitor is here, kill him without mercy."
