The nanny escorted Shen Heng to a side hall and told a palace maid to wait on her: "Thank you, Madam. After lunch, you can leave the palace at your own convenience." Then she bowed and left.
There was still about half an hour before lunch. Chen Heng had never been to this side hall before. When she was in the incantation technique, she had caught a glimpse of it. There should be a swing in front. The young Sixth Princess used to like to swing here.
Looking out the window, there was indeed a small swing, and not far away was a pond. Shen Heng sighed in her heart. Who would have thought that she had actually walked through most of the harem in other people's memories.
"It's a bit boring sitting here. Let's play on the swing next to me for a while." Chen Heng said to the palace maid.
The palace attendant glanced at her and nodded, "Madam Xie, you must not wander around."
A place like the Deep Palace is full of secrets. Even if she was asked to, Shen Heng would not leave.
The swing was very sturdy. When Chen Heng just sat on it, she caught a glimpse of a woman in gorgeous clothes slowly walking towards them. The woman had an extremely white complexion, an abnormally white one, as if the complexion had not seen the sun for many years. She was very beautiful, with a classical and feminine elegance and grace.
Looks somewhat familiar.
The palace maids who were originally serving nearby were horrified when they saw this woman and left quickly.
Chen Heng glanced at the departing palace maid. What was going on? Then something occurred to her. She knew why this woman looked familiar. She had seen her before in the art of incantation: the current Empress.
The queen also saw her and stopped.
Confusion flashed through Chen Heng's mind. Was the Queen alone? Why wasn't there a maid with her? Why did that maid suddenly run away after seeing the Queen? What should she do?
As her thoughts shifted, Shen Heng stepped forward and said, "My name is Shen, and I'm honored to meet the Empress."
The queen looked at her with a dazed look.
Shen Heng noticed that the Queen was actually wearing shoes: "Your Majesty, you are not wearing shoes."
"It's better not to wear shoes. It helps you stay awake. I've been confused for too long." The Queen looked at Shen Heng, her gaze shifting from bewilderment to kindness. "Xiao Liu also likes the swing. She and Yu'er come here to play every day."
Chen Heng glanced at the swing. Yes, the Sixth Princess often dragged the Crown Prince down here to play.
"You are not from the palace, so you'd better leave as soon as possible." The queen felt that the child in front of her was pleasing to her.
"The Crown Princess asked the woman to have lunch here before leaving the palace."
"Were you brought here by the Crown Princess? The Crown Princess is also a good child, they are all good children. It's my fault, it's all my fault." The Queen's eyes suddenly became unclear, and she turned and left.
As Shen Heng watched the Queen disappear around the corner, confused, the Crown Princess and several palace maids hurried over.
"Madam Xie, where is the Queen?" the Crown Princess asked anxiously.
Shen Heng pointed ahead: "Go that way."
The Crown Princess took a few steps before turning to Chen Heng and saying, "You must never tell anyone about your meeting with the Queen."
"Yes." There's nothing much to say.
The Crown Princess gave Shen Heng a deep look and said, "Come here, escort Madam Xie out of the palace."
Chen Heng left the palace with a lot of questions in her mind. The palace servant took her back to the inn outside the palace where she changed her clothes. When she changed into her own clothes and left the inn, she saw Hu Ya waiting in a carriage. Xie Jian was standing beside the carriage. His calm face fluctuated a little when he saw her.
