Xie Jian looked at Chen Heng who was dragging him away. He could tell that she was also very angry. He didn't expect this woman to protect him so much. The sister-in-law next to him had tears in her eyes, but a smile on her face.
In the yard, Li Dou and Xie Quan were being beaten, and screams were heard one after another.
"Mom, I want to get down." Little Xie Min struggled to get off his mother and ran to Li Sheng, who was beaten and groaning in pain. Although he was afraid, he still mustered up the courage to ask, "Did you take my Da Huang away? Can you please put it back?"
"Put it back. We've already eaten its meat." Li Sheng said angrily.
"Min'er." Xie Jian walked over and picked up his nephew.
Little Xie Min hugged his uncle's neck and cried.
Facing Li Sheng's ferocious expression, Xie Jian said in a cold voice, "Of the three thousand people exiled, not one has ever returned alive."
"Xie Jian, Chen Heng, just wait, I will never forgive you." Li Sheng had just finished speaking these cruel words when another scream was heard.
The yamen runner next to him thought he was too noisy and hit him hard on the buttocks with the water and fire stick in his hand: "Shut up."
When the family walked out of the yamen, the sky was already getting brighter.
The three of them stopped at the same time and looked at the dawn in the sky.
"Sister-in-law, you're crying again." Chen Hengyu.
Xia wiped the tears from her face. She was so happy: "I'll go buy some meat in the morning and make braised pork for you tonight."
"Sister-in-law, I want to eat an egg every day from now on." Chen Heng took the opportunity to make a request. She didn't want to improve only one meal.
Xia wiped away the tears that flowed out again: "Tuo."
"Min'er, stop crying." Seeing that her nephew was still crying, Chen Heng stroked his head and said, "Your uncle said that Da Huang's dog wife gave birth to a few puppies outside. When the time comes, we can go and get one to raise."
Xie Jian looked at her strangely. "Dog wife?" She actually said that. But seeing that his nephew had stopped crying, he said nothing.
"When did Da Huang marry a dog wife? How come I didn't know?" Little Xie Min's attention was diverted.
"Auntie just found out about this, too." Shen Heng said without blushing or getting upset.
"So when are we going to pick up the puppy?"
Shen Heng looked at Xie Jian: "You'll have to ask Uncle."
The two, one big and one small, looked at him. Xie Jian thought for a moment and said, "Maybe the day after tomorrow." He had to first ask the bookstore owner if he had a puppy. If not, he would have to get one for him.
When they got home, Xia handed her son to Chen Heng and took the vegetable basket to go to the morning.
After relaxing, Shen Heng felt very sleepy. Seeing that little Xie Min was also yawning, she hugged her nephew and fell asleep together.
Xie Jian sat quietly at the desk. He had no desire to sleep. Although it was getting light outside, the room was still dim. He did not turn on the light, and what happened that night kept flashing through his mind.
Whenever I think about it, I feel a pang of fear, afraid that my sister-in-law might do something wrong.
He was also afraid of himself. He wanted to kill everyone in the courtyard, even the entire Xie family. If Shen Heng hadn't suddenly stood up and said something, what would happen to his sister-in-law? How would Min'er live in the future?
