Chapter 31 Your in-laws are great, Zhou Pan thinks you have no chance.

Factory Director Jia narrowed his eyes and glanced around at the people around him. "Speak one by one!"

The female workers in Workshop 3 gradually recounted in detail everything that Zhou Pan had noticed about the unusual situation.

Zhou Pandi roared, her eyes bloodshot, staring intently at Old Lady Wu, "It's all your fault!"

Old Mrs. Wu found it utterly baffling when she suddenly heard Director Jia's voice in her ear.

"Comrade Zhou Pandi deliberately damaged factory property, causing damage to the textile factory. He will be sent home for six months to recuperate, starting today, and will be transferred to a temporary worker position."

Zhou Pandi's pupils contracted. "No! I won't!"

Factory Director Jia was too lazy to waste any more words with her, and instead turned to look at Old Lady Wu, "Three days from now is the day the textile factory delivers its goods on schedule. This matter has nothing to do with you, but it was caused by your Workshop 3, so you will have to resolve it yourselves."

Grandma Wu nodded, indicating that she understood. There were still three horses short. Three horses every three days. Even with her skillful craftsmanship, Grandma Wu was still having a headache.

After Director Jia left, Zhou Pandi was thrown out of the textile factory along with her bag. The female workers in Workshop glared at her fiercely, saying, "You really caused me a lot of trouble. If it weren't for you, would I have had to suffer like this?"

Zhou Pandi slapped his butt, tilted his head back high, and said, "Me? What does that have to do with me!"

"If you want to blame someone, blame Wu Mingxia! If she hadn't become the director of Workshop 3, I wouldn't have accidentally pushed the pad down!"

"She ruined you all, and she ruined me too!"

The others looked at Zhou Pan with strange eyes, as if she were mentally ill. They pursed their lips and thought, "She really is mentally ill."

Zhou Pandi turned and went home cursing, while Old Lady Wu stayed at the factory with the female workers, rushing to meet the deadline.

As darkness fell, Huang Mancang noticed that Old Lady Wu had not yet returned. He took Huang Xiaoqiang to the textile factory to look for her, but they ran into Zhou Pandi, who was returning. The father and son walked right past her, but after only a few steps, they were stopped by someone.

"Wait, are we going to find Wu Mingxia?"

Huang Xiaoqiang grabbed Huang Mancang and walked out as if he hadn't heard anything. In no time, they were nowhere to be seen.

Zhou Pandi glared at the Huang father and son, who were ignoring her completely, and said, "A pair of brain-dead idiots!"

The two hurried as fast as they could, but when they arrived at the textile factory, the gates were already closed.

"Where did your mother go? The textile factory gates are all closed. Could something have happened to her?"

"Pah, pah, pah!" Huang Xiaoqiang spat several times, giving Huang Mancang a reproachful look. "Dad, what are you saying?"

As soon as Huang Mancang finished speaking, he turned his head and spat on the ground a few times, "Then why doesn't she go home so late at night?"

Huang Xiaoqiang was also very worried. These past few days he had been waiting for Grandma Wu on his way home from school to go back together, but today it was already dark and he still hadn't seen her.

When I got home, I found out that the person had never returned.

The father and son looked around, wondering where Old Lady Wu could go since she had no relatives in Changping City.

"Let's go to the police station!" Huang Mancang grabbed Huang Xiaoqiang and left.

No sooner had the two left than Grandma Wu and a group of female workers came out, saying, "We'll have to trouble you all for the next three days."

"Hey, Director Wu, what are you saying? Workshop Three belongs to the collective, to everyone. If something goes wrong, we all have to shoulder the responsibility together. What's wrong with that?"

"that is."

"That's right, Director Wu, you should go home soon. We've all notified our families, except you. It's so late, your family must be worried."

Grandma Wu smiled slightly and waved goodbye to the female worker.

Back in the compound, seeing the locked door, his eyebrows twitched, and he was about to open it when Zhou Pandi's irritating voice rang out behind him again.

"You just got back? Your whole family went out to eat at restaurants. Poor you, all alone, can only eat coarse food."

Old Mrs. Wu chuckled lightly, her eyes cold. "Eating coarse food and wild vegetables? Are you talking about yourself?"

"you!"

Before he could speak again, a shout from inside the room stopped him, "Shut up! Can't even hot food keep your mouth shut?"

Zhou Pan touched the hidden pain on her body, turned around angrily and went back into the house.

Those who had been peering around the courtyard, seeing that things had calmed down, pulled their heads back. "Hey, Zhou Pandi's really got issues. She has to say something sarcastic whenever she sees Huang Mancang's woman. Do you think... it might be..."

"I know what you mean..." the man said, winking at the woman. "You mean Zhou Pandi has taken a liking to Huang Mancang, which is why he's targeting his woman at every turn, right?"

"Yeah, Wu Mingxia is a well-behaved person in our compound. She never even argues with anyone. How could she have gotten into a feud with Zhou Pandi out of nowhere? Besides, didn't you hear Zhou Pandi admit that she and Huang Mancang were having an affair?"

The man shuddered instantly when he thought of Zhou Pan's short, stocky build and her large, round face.

"You're saying that besides Hao Ren, there's no other man who could be interested in her?"

The woman scoffed, "Maybe some people do have that taste."

Their conversation quietly drifted into the night.

Old Mrs. Wu has been so busy these past few days, leaving early and returning late, that she naturally had no idea about the rumors circulating in the compound.

The men of the Huang family were unaware, but Wang Huijun and Li Jin'e, who were at home, heard everything clearly.

"Sister-in-law, do you think Father-in-law really has an improper relationship with that Zhou Pan?"

Wang Huijun buried her head in washing clothes, not saying a word, until Li Jin'e, who had been talking to herself for a long time, opened her eyes wide and said "hello" several times.

Seeing that Wang Huijun still didn't react, he stomped his foot, turned around, and went back into the house.

With her ears finally at peace, Wang Huijun breathed a sigh of relief, looked at the three or five pieces of clothing in the basin, and a barely perceptible smile appeared on her lips.

Since Huang Xiaoguo and Huang Xiaomin talked about it that day, she has been washing clothes for her family of three, and no longer has to do so much, which has made her life much easier.

Zhou Pandi had just returned from buying groceries at midday when she noticed the strange looks from the women in the courtyard. A hint of doubt flashed across her brow. She turned her head and saw Wang Huijun washing clothes in the courtyard. She stopped in her tracks and stood in front of her.

"Oh, it's Huijun, washing clothes."

Wang Huijun nodded almost imperceptibly, picked up the basin, and got up to go back inside.

Suddenly, a trouser leg flashed past her eyes, blocking her way. "Don't go! Auntie wants to talk to you."

Wang Huijun took a step back, creating some distance.

"What does Auntie want to say?"

Zhou Pandi rolled her eyes, leaned close to her and whispered, "Huang Xiaoguo hit you again, didn't he?"

Wang Huijun looked up at her in confusion, and Zhou Pan saw that she had guessed right. "Let me tell you, there's an old saying that if you raise a child but don't teach him, it's the father's fault. Huang Xiaoguo beating his wife is because your mother-in-law didn't teach her well."

“My mother-in-law? My mother-in-law is the mother, the father should be my father-in-law.”

Faced with Wang Huijun's serious expression that seemed to say she was wrong and was straightening her up, Zhou Pandi almost choked on her words.

"Are you an idiot?!" Zhou Pandi suppressed the urge to curse, and was about to say something when she saw Wang Huijun give her a strange look from head to toe, and suddenly blurted out,

"Your father-in-law has excellent eyesight, and my mother-in-law is very beautiful. You have no chance, so give up."
