Chapter 9 Qiao Daya is not someone to be trifled with.

Wang Wenzheng stepped forward, his face serious. "Mom, I'm here too. If I have food, you and my sister will have food too."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a young woman's voice suddenly rang out from the inner room, "Whose married daughter is staying at her parents' house?"

Following the sound, everyone looked and saw a heavily pregnant young woman supporting her back stepping out of the door. Qiao Daya glanced disdainfully at Huang Xuewen standing next to Wang Mu.

He addressed the Wang family mother and son, saying, "It's not that I can't tolerate my sister and child, it's just that our family isn't well-off, and besides, I'm pregnant now."

"With another mouth to feed, how can we possibly feed so many people?"

Qiao Daya's words caused Wang Mu's face to darken instantly. Just as she was about to speak, she felt a heavy weight on her hand. Without her noticing, Wang Huijun was already standing beside her, a smile on her face.

“What my sister-in-law said is true. It’s not easy for any family these days.”

She smiled, but that smile was full of bitterness. Once a woman gets married, her parents' home is no longer her home. It's not easy for her younger brother to find a wife. If she causes discord in her parents' home because of her, how can she face her brother?

Seeing her daughter's submissive appearance, Wang's mother felt a pang of sadness. She had only been back for three days when Qiao Daya had openly and subtly belittled her countless times.

It's also her fault. Her son came back in a panic and inexplicably brought back a woman who was pregnant with his child.

Thinking that it wouldn't be easy for someone as handsome as Wang Wenzheng to marry, and that it didn't matter who he married, he just married Qiao Daya in a daze.

Who knew that Qiao Daya would have such a personality?

Qiao Daya walked over to Wang Wenzheng, pushed him away with one finger, and sat firmly on the stool, sighing, "My sister is so sensible."

As she spoke, she looked at Old Lady Wu and raised an eyebrow. "Aunt Wu, what man doesn't beat his wife? Tell your brother-in-law not to hit her in the face anymore. You know, if he hits her too lightly or too hard, he'll inevitably leave marks. It wouldn't be good if my mother and Wenzheng saw that, wouldn't you say?"

Old Mrs. Wu was also baffled by her words, and glanced at the Wang family mother and son. This Wang Wenzheng's wife was not someone to be trifled with.

Not only did she not seek justice for her husband's sister, but she also openly and secretly hinted to Huang Xiaoguo that he could hit Huijun. Wasn't Qiao Daya afraid that her husband and mother-in-law would be dissatisfied with her?

Wang Wenzheng was about to speak when Qiao Daya exclaimed "Ouch!" and clutched her stomach, startling him so much that he forgot what he was going to say.

Seeing this, Old Mrs. Wu sighed inwardly, thinking that every family has its own troubles. Before she could finish her sigh, a thunderous voice rang out beside her. Turning her head, she saw Huang Xiaoguo, who had been listless since entering the house.

"Whether I hit my wife or not, I can hit her wherever I want, I don't need you to tell me!"

Huang Xiaoguo suddenly went berserk, making Old Lady Wu's heart pound. She had barely understood what he was saying when he slapped her across the back of the neck.

"Are you crazy?!" In someone else's home, in front of his own wife's family, he said he could hit her if he wanted to. Is that something a human being could do?

Before Wang Wenzheng could make a move, Old Lady Wu slapped Huang Xiaoguo, silencing him.

Qiao Daya patted her bulging chest; she was terrified. Even after recovering, she gave Old Lady Wu and her son a cold shoulder. She had originally planned to get rid of the freeloaders Wang Huijun and her son as soon as possible, but now? Humph!

“Brother-in-law is right! I can’t control her and I don’t need to teach her, but you’ve hit my sister several times. My Wang family isn’t someone to be trifled with. There are people who will stand up for her.”

As if to confirm her words, Wang Wenzheng puffed out his chest and took a step forward, staring intently at Huang Xiaoguo.

Huang Xiaoguo swallowed hard, then remembered Old Mrs. Wu beside him. He tugged at her sleeve and whispered, "Mom..."

"Now you know how to call me 'Mom'?" Old Mrs. Wu said irritably, pulling her sleeve back. "You good-for-nothing."

Old Mrs. Wu didn't even glance at Qiao Daya, but instead turned her gaze back to Wang's mother, lowering her voice, "Hongling, it's my son who's useless, causing Huijun to suffer."

"I'll definitely teach that brat a lesson when I get back. If he dares to lay a hand on me again, I'll break his claws first, and I'll raise him myself if necessary."

Huang Xiaoguo was startled and was about to speak when he was silenced by Old Lady Wu's sharp gaze.

Wang's mother's eyes flickered slightly, and she was about to speak when Qiao Daya spoke first, "It's fine to let my sister go back with Aunt Wu. They've eaten quite a bit at the Wang family's house these past few days, so you can just make up for their food rations."

Wang Wenzheng, who had been paying close attention to her, felt ashamed upon hearing this. "Da Ya!"

Before she could even open her mouth, Qiao Daya glared at her and shut her up. Wang's mother's face also turned ugly. She had never heard of her daughter needing extra food rations when she went back to her parents' home for a few days. Only a despicable family would do such a thing.

Huang Xiaoguo may not have a sister, but he does have a brother and sister-in-law. His third brother's wife went back to her parents' home for half a month, and he never heard of her family coming to ask for food.

Just as he was about to move, Old Mrs. Wu pressed him back down, saying, "We..."

As soon as she spoke, Wang's mother stood up abruptly, her gaze heavy, and asked her, "Mingxia, I've seen you today, and you've changed a lot. If you can go back and discipline your son properly, and stop my daughter from suffering, then take her back. As for food... no need!"

"mom!"

Mrs. Wang's face darkened. "Shut up! I'm not dead yet! This family is not your place to make the decisions!"

Wang's mother was usually all smiles and had a gentle face, but when she suddenly turned cold, it was a bit scary. Qiao Daya, feeling annoyed, pushed away Wang Wenzheng, who was standing guard beside her, and turned back into the inner room.

The atmosphere in the room became tense and everyone fell silent. Old Mrs. Wu smiled, completely unaffected. It was fortunate that it wasn't her daughter-in-law.

The thought flashed through her mind. When she saw Huang Xiaoguo standing beside her pretending to be dead, Old Lady Wu kicked him and gestured with her chin to him, indicating that he should go and apologize to Huijun.

Huang Xiaoguo was somewhat reluctant. He thought, "Why should I apologize? It's just embarrassing."

As soon as Old Lady Wu's hand, which was hanging down by her side, moved slightly, Huang Xiaoguo immediately stepped in front of Wang Huijun, lowered his head, hesitated for a long time, and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, come home with me."

Wang Huijun also had her face downcast, tears streaming down her cheeks. Just as she was about to nod, Old Mrs. Wu kicked her hard, "That's it? What else?"

Huang Xiaoguo silently rubbed his buttocks, noticed the injury on Wang Huijun's face, and suddenly had a flash of inspiration, "I...I won't hit you anymore."

Grandma Wu nodded in disgust. If it weren't for the fact that this good-for-nothing's face was swollen, she would have really wanted to slap him to death.

Before leaving, Old Mrs. Wu smacked her lips and decided not to say anything more. The Wang family's daughter-in-law was really not good enough, but judging from how much Wang Wenzheng liked her, saying anything would only be annoying.

Huang Xiaoguo was happy to have successfully brought his wife back, but when he turned around, he found his mother standing in front of the door with a mentally challenged man. Perhaps because he was relaxed, he blurted out what he was thinking.
