Chapter 99 The Pig is in a Bad Mood

She immediately raised her voice and said to him, "Have you forgotten how she targeted Mom a while ago?"

"You'd pick up a stick and smash it over someone's head just for a few piglets? Do you think Mom would be happy if she took her job?"

Huang Xiaofu pondered for a moment, then nodded. "That makes sense, but wouldn't that be thinking too badly of people?"

The next morning, Grandma Wu went to the pigsty and peered inside. She saw that the three piglets looked listless, like wilted eggplants.

They stopped fighting and bickering.

What's going on?

She opened the fence and went into the pigpen. Inside, she saw three piglets with their ears drooping on the ground, not even glancing in her direction.

Grandma Wu looked around and found the pig trough to be empty.

Are you hungry?

Yes, it must be because they're hungry.

He picked up a basket and went up the mountain to cut pig feed. Before leaving, he also put on a big pot and boiled a pot of water.

Hurry back and chop up all the vegetables you've cut and put them into the pot, along with a large spoonful of bran and chaff.

They mingled together, stirring things up, and every now and then they'd glance at the pigsty.

The cooked pig feed was poured into the pig trough. The three piglets grunted and sniffed, but didn't move.

Now she really felt strange. Before, when she saw food, she would rush towards it like she was seeing anything, without thinking twice.

Surprisingly, there was no movement from anyone today.

Grandma Wu went in, pushed them aside one by one, picked them up, and looked them over from all angles.

There was no injury, no spitting, what happened out of the blue?

A thoughtful look flashed in his eyes. As soon as he put down the piglet, he saw it hurriedly snuggle up to the other two pigs and stick close to them.

Is this fear?

What are you afraid of?

Grandma Wu shook her head, shaking off the absurd idea in her head. When livestock get sick, you still need to find a professional.

Veterinarian Li looked at Old Lady Wu with a puzzled expression. "No, this pig is also too full to poop?"

An odd expression flashed across Grandma Wu's face. "I don't know either. Could it be that I fed them too much and they're stuffed? I fed them this morning, but they didn't touch a bite. They huddled together and didn't move, just like people who are stuffed and nauseous."

Veterinarian Li felt that his worldview had been greatly impacted in just half a month.

Qi Niuhua was supposed to take the medicine prescribed for livestock, but now Grandma Wu says the pigs are too full and can't eat.

When a village gets big, all sorts of strange and unusual things happen.

"Why don't you come with me and take a look? You're a professional, you know more about this than I do."

"If you recover and raise a 200-pound pig by the end of the year, you'll be a hero, and you'll get a bigger share of the pork, right?"

Veterinarian Li stroked his chin and nodded, agreeing.

"Alright then, I'll go with you."

When the villagers saw them on the road, they couldn't help but ask a few more questions. They learned from Old Lady Wu that the pig had eaten too much and was feeling nauseous.

Those who heard it couldn't help but twitch at the corner of their mouths; this was the first time they'd ever heard of such a thing.

In the past, pigs were raised. The old people in the village all know that pigs have straight intestines; they excrete whatever they eat.

I've never heard of a pig getting overeaten.

These city folks really know how to have fun.

Noticing the strange looks from the villagers, Veterinarian Li quickened his pace.

When they arrived at the pigsty, Old Lady Wu took the initiative to open the fence so that he could go in and have a good look.

Veterinarian Li unconsciously looked around and saw that the area was quite clean. As he approached, he noticed a stove not far away.

When Grandma Wu saw him looking at it, she took the initiative to explain, "That's for rolling pig feed. I think illness enters through the mouth, whether it's a pig or a person. If you eat cleanly, you'll get fewer illnesses."

Veterinarian Li nodded; that was true.

Turning his attention to today's main character, Veterinarian Li was slightly taken aback.

Did they give the pigs a bath? They're so clean!

When Qi Niuhua used to raise pigs, they kept dying, so the village secretary called him over to take a look.

Pigs back then were in a terrible state. Their skin was practically skin and bones, and they were covered in pig excrement. You wouldn't want to look at them a second time.

It's too spicy for my eyes.

Veterinarian Li kept muttering to himself, but he didn't show it on his face. He simply picked up a piglet.

As soon as you pick them up, they all sink down a bit; they're quite sturdy.

Seeing that he had thoroughly examined the pigs from all angles, almost to the point of disemboweling them, Old Lady Wu couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong with them? Are they sick?"

Veterinarian Li put the pig down, clapped his hands, and just as he was about to withdraw his hand, he mischievously tugged at the pig's ear.

"It's okay, I'm fine."

"Aren't you just holding on?"

“No.” Veterinarian Li glanced at her speechlessly. “Pigs have straight intestines. They eat and then poop. There’s no such thing as being stuffed.”

Grandma Wu blushed slightly, "Yes, yes..."

"Remember, pigs grow fastest when they are only 80-90% full."

Grandma Wu quickly made a mental note of it, thinking that she could ask about the rest of what she didn't understand while others were around.

Veterinarian Li nodded. "It's good that you mean well, but Qi Niuhua won't listen to me. Remember, pigs can't eat too many mulberries. Eating too many will cause abdominal bloating, and in severe cases, it will make them unable to stand or walk."

"besides......"

Grandma Wu nodded to each of them, indicating that she had remembered.

"That's alright, why aren't they eating?"

Veterinarian Li hesitated for a moment, "Perhaps it's because he's in a bad mood, or maybe he's been frightened."

Grandma Wu: "......"

This was also the first time she heard of it.

Veterinarian Li waved his hand, "It's alright, just let them run around in the pigpen more often."

Before Old Mrs. Wu could say anything, the person had already walked away.

Grandma Wu sighed as she looked at the three piglets huddled together. Turning her head, she noticed that most of the pig feed in the trough had been emptied, and one of the piglets still had food stuck to its round snout.

Grandma Wu's lips slowly curled up. "It seems it's true. So pigs can be in a bad mood too."

When Huang Xiaofu and Huang Xiaoqiang finished their work and came to find Old Lady Wu, they were met with a scene that left them speechless.

"Falling, falling, falling..."

Grandma Wu held a thin stick in her hand and pumped it into the air around her, herding the three plump white piglets back and forth in the pigpen.

Huffing and puffing...

Huang Xiaofu chuckled; he actually saw a look of utter despair on the faces of the three little pigs.

"Mom, let's go, it's time to go back for dinner."

When Grandma Wu looked up, she saw Huang Xiaofu and Huang Xiaoqiang smiling at her.

"Mom, what are you doing?"

Huang Xiaoqiang took the thin stick from her hand. "Why are you chasing them away for no reason?"

Grandma Wu wiped the sweat from her forehead. "Look, they weren't eating, so I asked Veterinarian Li to come and take a look. He said they were in a bad mood and should be given some exercise."

Huang Xiaofu and Huang Xiaoqiang froze. Had they heard correctly?

Is the pig in a bad mood?

What could a pig possibly know? Could it even know if it's in a good mood or not?

This veterinarian Li is a quack...
