Chapter 10 Section Chief Zhou is numb! Chen Dazhu and his son block the door.

Only one day had passed when he couldn't stay at home any longer and came straight to our door to inquire about the news.

Asking him if he needs to go to the factory today is just a way of subtly testing whether he has obtained the necessary permits!

"I just came back from the factory."

Li Junsheng replied to Chen Dazhu with a calm expression.

Chen Dazhu was unsure whether Li Junsheng had successfully obtained the certificate or not.

He didn't say a word; could it be that he wants to back out?

Just then, Li Guojun and Wang Xiuhua walked to the door and saw Chen Dazhu and his son outside.

"Uncle Chen, Zhiyuan, what brings you here?"

Chen Dazhu was a bit shrewd; he smiled at the two men and said, "We just happened to be passing by, so we came up for a seat."

"Then please come inside quickly! What are you doing standing at the door!"

Li Guojun and Wang Xiuhua stepped aside to let Chen Dazhu and his son in.

Li Junsheng followed closely behind, feeling that the real show was about to begin!

At that moment, Ma Yulian was looking in the mirror, fiddling with her newly permed hair, when she saw Chen Dazhu and his son arrive without a word, and she immediately felt uneasy.

"Hey, Lao Chen, what brings you two here at this hour?"

Ma Yulian pulled Li Guojun and Wang Xiuhua apart, stood in front of Chen Dazhu, and frantically winked at him.

Chen Dazhu didn't quite understand what Ma Yulian meant. She winked at him, was it because things hadn't gone well, Li Junsheng wasn't cooperating after sobering up, or what?

Li Guojun, however, took over the conversation.

"Mom, Uncle Chen and his family were passing by and came up to sit for a while."

Chen Dazhu nodded in agreement, then asked, holding up the things in his hands, "Yulian, where should we put these things?"

Li Guojun and Wang Xiuhua were kept in the dark by Ma Yulian. They looked at each other and both felt it was quite strange.

Was Uncle Chen really just passing by and coming up to sit for a while?

Then why did you bring so many things? Did you buy these specifically for this purpose?

"Uncle Chen, you've come all this way, why did you bring so much stuff?"

Li Guojun tentatively probed Chen Dazhu.

Chen Dazhu smiled but did not answer.

Ma Yulian, however, tried her best to conceal Chen Dazhu's true purpose in coming to the door, lest the boss find out and cause trouble.

"Hey, your Uncle Chen is a man of principle. He never goes to someone's house empty-handed!"

Li Guojun and Wang Xiuhua were skeptical. Seeing that her son and daughter-in-law did not believe her, Ma Yulian was filled with fear and anxiety, and she also gritted her teeth in hatred at Li Junsheng's inefficiency.

If he had gotten the certificate ready yesterday, she wouldn't have had to rack her brains to hide it from her eldest son and daughter-in-law today.

Seeing that these people had different thoughts, especially Ma Yulian's embarrassed appearance as she struggled to hide her eldest son's secret, Li Junsheng felt secretly pleased.

Even Ma Yulian has moments of fear!

Li Junsheng really wanted to see what would happen when his eldest son found out that Ma Yulian was siding with outsiders.

"Old Li, do you still need to go to work at the factory this afternoon? If not, how about we grab a couple of drinks?"

Chen Dazhu subtly probed, trying to find out if he had gotten the proof sorted out.

If he gets the certificate, he definitely won't need to go to the factory that afternoon; Li Junsheng will definitely suggest having a couple of drinks.

Chen Dazhu paused, then smiled at Li Junsheng and said, "You're not young anymore, why work so hard, right?"

He reminded Li Junsheng to get the money and get things done quickly, and not to be reluctant to leave his job at the factory.

Li Junsheng understood what he meant, but he wanted to see Chen Dazhu unable to figure him out or understand his thoughts.

"Hey, I don't think I'm that old. Fifty is the age to work hard. Besides, my job at the machine factory is great. How could I bear to just quit?"

Chen Dazhu looked at Li Junsheng and truly couldn't understand this person.

You don't really want to back out, do you?

Chen Dazhu started saying nice things to Li Junsheng, continuing to play the good guy, a smiling tiger.

“What you said makes sense, but you’ve worked hard for most of your life, saved up enough money, why don’t you enjoy it and retire early? It’s so meaningless to work hard your whole life. If you ask me, you should give way when it’s time to give way.”

Chen Dazhu is a hypocrite, all sweet talk and daggers. He uses the pretense of doing what's best for Li Junsheng to actually benefit his son.

Li Guojun glanced at Chen Dazhu, then looked at his father.

Something just doesn't feel right!

Uncle Chen, it's one thing to bring things, but why is he being so polite to his dad today?

It sounded like there was a hidden meaning in his words. Li Guojun had seen how others talked to their superiors.

I feel like Uncle Chen is a subordinate, while my father is like a big boss, holding the reins.

"Uncle Chen, is there something you need from my house? I can't understand what you and my dad are talking about."

Li Guojun went straight for Chen Dazhu!

Chen Dazhu smiled and flatly denied it, "What could possibly happen? I just told your dad not to work so hard!"

Li Guojun scoffed, "Uncle Chen, I don't agree with what you're saying. If my dad manages to achieve something, it will benefit his children and grandchildren too."

It's amazing that he can talk about sponging off his parents so comfortably!

Ma Yulian coughed lightly, trying to get Li Guojun and Wang Xiuhua away so she could have a frank conversation with Li Junsheng.

“Jun’er, I’ll give you some meat coupons. Take your wife and go buy some meat to treat your Uncle Chen. Let them have lunch at our house before they leave.”

Ma Yulian took the meat ticket and handed it to Li Guojun, but Li Guojun refused to go.

He always felt that there was something going on between Uncle Chen and his father.

Even his mother looked strange. He asked Uncle Chen some questions, but Uncle Chen just smiled and didn't say anything.

It was his own mother who spoke up for Uncle Chen.
