Chapter 139 The Silent Woman? Fainting in front of the restaurant

As soon as Li Junsheng stepped out of the restaurant, he saw a disheveled, thin figure with unclear features, whether male or female, walking towards him.

The moment Li Junsheng saw this person, he felt that she was a refugee, perhaps a madwoman or a homeless person who just happened to be passing by.

"Who are you? It's so late, why aren't you home yet?"

Li Junsheng shone his flashlight directly into the woman's face, instinctively wary of her because he didn't know her background.

When the unkempt person was suddenly blinded by the flashlight beam, she instinctively raised her hand to shield herself.

He opened his mouth as if to say something, then swayed twice before collapsing with a thud at the restaurant entrance.

The sudden situation left Li Junsheng completely bewildered!

It's so late at night, and there's no one else around. Surely they're not trying to scam us?

"Dad, she seems to have fainted. Should we go check on her?"

Li Xiaoyu tilted her head behind Li Junsheng, looking at the person on the ground. Li Junsheng sighed and resignedly said, "We have to go check on them. We don't want them to die in front of our restaurant. Things will get really bad tomorrow!"

As he spoke, Li Junsheng went to check on the person who had fainted and gently nudged her twice.

"Hey, are you alright? Wake up, get up."

There was no response from the other party. Li Junsheng brushed aside her slightly messy hair and raised his hand to check her breathing.

Li Junsheng parted the messy hair and realized that it was a woman. Her face was a little dirty, as if she hadn't washed it in a long time.

Judging from his age, he is around thirty-five years old.

"It's a woman. She's fainted. We don't know what's wrong. We need to take her to the hospital."

Li Junsheng stood up and briefly explained the situation to his children.

"Guohua, you, Xiaocui, and your two younger sisters go home. It's getting dark, and it's not safe for them to go home alone!"

"Xiao Liang, you can go back by yourself. Your current place isn't far from here."

After Tang Liang stopped working as a cook at the factory, he rented a single room in a bungalow nearby so that it would be convenient for him to commute to and from the restaurant every day!

Li Guohua and Tang Liang nodded, both preparing to go home, while Li Xiaoyu liked to join in the fun.

She pulled Li Chunya along and said playfully to Li Junsheng, "Dad, my sister and I will go to the hospital with you!"

Li Junsheng disagreed somewhat, but he didn't blame his daughter.

"Why are you going with them? Don't not get enough sleep tonight and then be unable to get up tomorrow."

Li Xiaoyu pouted and said to Li Junsheng with some displeasure, "Look, she's a woman. It's inconvenient for you to take her to the hospital and take care of her. We can go and help."

Li Chunya nodded in agreement with her sister, "Yes, Dad, if someone faints, there will definitely be a lot of tests to do at the hospital, which is inconvenient for you."

Li Junsheng thought it made sense, so he simply let his two daughters come along.

Anyway, with me here, I'm not worried about their safety when they go out at night.

"Alright then, I'll carry her on my back, Xiaoyu, you hold up a flashlight for me from the front!"

Li Junsheng bent down and carried the woman on his back. The woman was very thin, and Li Junsheng felt that she was very light.

Li Xiaoyu shone a flashlight on Li Junsheng from the front, while Li Chunya took care of him from the side. The three of them headed straight for the nearby hospital!

The restaurant is close to the city hospital, just a short walk away.

Upon arriving at the hospital, the woman indeed had to undergo several examinations, which was quite inconvenient for Li Junsheng, a man.

So Li Chunya and Li Xiaoyu took care of the woman during her examination, and then they got some water to wipe her hands and face clean!

The woman was temporarily admitted to the hospital. The doctor on night duty came over and said to Li Junsheng and his two daughters, "The test results are in. This person fainted due to low blood sugar because she had been starving for too long. I will prescribe some glucose for her, and she will be fine after receiving some glucose infusion."

"When she wakes up, remember to get her something to eat; she'll get better soon!"

Li Junsheng nodded, then watched as the doctor administered glucose to the woman.

"She fainted from low blood sugar due to hunger. Is she homeless? She's quite pretty..."

Li Xiaoyu was very interested in the woman's background!

Before she woke up, Li Junsheng couldn't make a conclusion about her origins.

"I don't know when this person will wake up. Should I take you two back first?"

Li Xiaoyu thought about it and decided to go back to sleep.

Li Junsheng took them both home and then went back to the hospital to stay with the woman.

That night, Li Junsheng lay on a bench outside the ward.

It wasn't until early the next morning that Li Xiaoyu and Li Chunya came to visit the woman, bringing her some millet porridge and steamed buns.

"Dad, is she still not awake?"

Li Xiaoyu patted Li Junsheng on the shoulder, and Li Junsheng opened his eyes and sat up from the bench.

"I haven't seen her yet, but she didn't get up to go to the bathroom that night."

Li Junsheng yawned as he spoke, then opened the ward door with his daughters to check on the woman's condition.

Pushing open the door, I saw the woman sitting blankly on the hospital bed, seemingly wondering why she was there.

Li Xiaoyu was quite outgoing, and when she saw that she was awake, she started talking to her.

"Big sister, you're awake! Are you feeling better? You collapsed in front of my shop last night, it was so scary!"

The woman looked at Li Xiaoyu and pursed her lips. Knowing that she had been brought to the hospital by Li Junsheng and the other two, she didn't say a word of thanks to Li Xiaoyu.

Li Xiaoyu couldn't help but feel strange, wondering if this person was deaf or mute? Otherwise, why wouldn't they speak?

"Miss, where are you from? How can you contact your family? Would you like us to take you home?"

Li Junsheng wanted to send her home; it wasn't a good idea for a woman to be homeless, it was too dangerous.

No matter how Li Junsheng and Li Xiaoyu spoke to her, the woman kept her head down and remained unusually silent, not saying a word!

"Dad, is she mute? Or can't she hear?"

Li Xiaoyu turned to ask Li Junsheng, who was also unsure about the woman's condition. If she wasn't mute or deaf, then she must have suffered some kind of severe psychological trauma!

Otherwise, they wouldn't be so silent!

"My daughter brought you some millet porridge, would you like some? You were so hungry last night that you fainted from low blood sugar!"

Li Junsheng brought the porridge to the woman and tried to talk to her and gesture to her, but the woman still didn't react.

The man was a little dirty, but his eyes were very clear. He was staring at Li Junsheng, and no one knew what he was thinking!

Seeing that she wouldn't say anything, Li Junsheng had no choice but to ask Li Chunya to come over and feed her something first, as glucose alone wouldn't be enough.

"Here, have some porridge first!"

Li Chunya used a spoon to feed the woman millet porridge. When the porridge was brought to her mouth, she opened her mouth and ate it. After being fed two mouthfuls, the woman took the porridge and ate it herself.

She lowered her eyes, making it impossible to tell what she was thinking.

"Dad, could you go out for a bit? I was thinking that her clothes weren't clean, so I brought her one that I don't wear anymore."
