Ma Yulian ignored Li Guojun and instead grabbed Li Junsheng's arm, wanting to go home with him first and ask him about the transfer of the work certificate alone.

Li Guojun never expected that his mother, Ma Yulian, would agree so readily and do as his spineless father had said!
In the kitchen, Ma Yulian poked her head out and said to Li Junsheng, "Old Li, there are still some peanuts at home. I'll cook them with spices for you. You can have them as a snack with your drinks."
Ma Yulian actually added an extra dish for Li Junsheng!
Li Guojun and Wang Xiuhua exchanged a glance, both looking utterly shocked.
Wang Xiuhua even pinched Li Guojun to see if they were dreaming.
With two plates of meat and vegetables and a plate of peanuts, Li Junsheng tilted his head back and drank a glass of wine.
Looking back, she recalled the kind of life she led: leaving early and returning late, while also having to take care of her eldest son's family and Ma Yulian.
Every time he cleaned up the food from the kitchen, all these people left him with were cold, leftover scraps.
They were allowed to pick out every last bit of meat from the meat dishes, leaving only the side dishes for themselves!
They're worse than pigs and dogs!
Nothing is better than this now.
With half a bottle of wine, Li Junsheng enjoyed the moment.

After eating and drinking his fill, he put down his chopsticks and went straight back to his room to sleep.

Because she was worried about needing Li Junsheng to get the certificate, Ma Yulian suppressed her displeasure and didn't wake Li Junsheng up to make him clear the dishes.
Glancing at Wang Xiuhua, Ma Yulian said irritably, "You're the slowest eater of all. You'll be cleaning up the dishes today, and remember to clean the kitchen too!"
Wang Xiuhua harbored resentment and kicked Li Guojun under the table.
But Li Guojun acted as if nothing had happened and didn't side with his wife at all.
With no other option, Wang Xiuhua had to pack up the dishes and go to the kitchen to wash them.
The clanging and banging as she washed the dishes clearly showed how unwilling Wang Xiuhua was to wash dishes now that she was used to a life where she didn't have to worry about anything!
Ma Yulian was already angry today, and seeing Wang Xiuhua like this, she simply used her as a dumping ground for her emotions.

Wang Xiuhua couldn't bear to break ties with her boss, even though Li Guojun wasn't very capable.
