Chapter 26 Chapter 26 “Please.”

Chapter 26 Chapter 26 “Please.”

Hotel banquet hall.

Two rows of tables and chairs were arranged neatly, with a one-meter-high cake in the middle and a banner hanging on the top - a town center and health center friendly meeting.

The signature is from the Street Office.

"Is this the difficulty you're talking about?"

Qiao Zhuo looked around and didn't see any signs of difficulty. How could he be drawn here on impulse?

I’m afraid this guy added some medicine to the thousand-layer dish yesterday.

After just a few days of not eating, he lost his guard against the smiling tiger.

"These past few days, we've been decorating the banquet hall with Xiaozhu from the street office." Tan Du looked at the girl blowing the balloons. She smiled and waved. She was a very energetic girl, but something didn't seem right with her eyes.

"What's wrong?" Tan Du asked, "Is there something on my face?"

"Well," Qiao Zhuoyi said unhappily, "It's quite handsome. Are you satisfied?"

"Hmm." Tan Du pushed his glasses.

Qiao Zhuo glared at him and asked, "It takes so many days to set up such a small space?"

"We still need to make purchases and confirm the personnel involved. Xiaozhu's colleague is in the hospital with acute appendicitis, so she's too busy to handle it." Tan Du said, "Zhou Jue even made a big cake specially, but he went back to Su Qi after he was done. We're shorthanded, so we'd like to ask Boss Qiao for a favor."

"Back?" Qiao Zhuo thought of her sitting in the passenger seat that day.

"Yes," Tan Du smiled, "Zhou Jue is his employee, and I insisted on coming. He also had an event these days, so I went over to help."

"Isn't there Xiaolu?"

"Xiaolu has something important to do. You have to leave as soon as the coffee is ready. You can't delay."

"What big deal could it be?" Qiao Zhuoyi didn't believe it.

"Meet your boyfriend's parents," Tan Du said, opening the cardboard box next to him. "He almost knelt down and begged me."

This is indeed a big deal.

Qiao Zhuo curled his lips and looked over: "Mask?"

"Yes," Tan Du seemed to want to laugh, but he suppressed it and said sincerely, "Masquerade."

Qiao Zhuoyi squatted down and grabbed one, which was thinner than paper. He narrowed his eyes and asked, "Are you sure it's not leftover from the three for one yuan sale at the market?"

"Yes." Tan Du tapped his fingers on the side of the cardboard box.

When Qiao Zhuo looked over, he saw the words "One Yuan, Three Items" clearly written on it. He loosened his mask, put his hands on his knees and prepared to run.

"Boss Qiao? Can you help me?" Tan Du tugged at him and clasped his hands together. "Don't worry, no one will recognize you."

Finally, with her eyes curved, she uttered four words softly and slowly - "Please."

The veins on Qiao Zhuo's forehead were throbbing: "Shut up!"

At five o'clock in the afternoon, the participants of the social gathering officially entered the venue.

Sweat kept dripping down Qiao Zhuo's face and accumulated at his jaw. He blew a breath forward, which brought a brief cool breeze. His arms mechanically dropped and stretched forward, dropped and stretched forward.

Through the small hole in front of him, he saw the rabbit opposite jump.

Again.

After five jumps, the rabbit hopped over to him.

"Boss Qiao, hold on a little longer, it will be over soon."

Qiao Zhuoyi didn't say anything, and his back teeth were almost broken.

What Tan Tuzi meant by not being recognized was that he just wore a mask and dealt cards at the hotel entrance.

Qiao Zhuo retreated after accomplishing his mission, but before he could step down the stairs, he was grabbed by a hand again.

"What else?"

"Let's go inside and enjoy the air conditioning and have something to eat before we leave. We're still considered staff members after all," Tan Du whispered. "Zhou Jue really put in a first-rate performance on that cake. Xiao Zhu and I agreed to hide two pieces for us."

Qiao Zhuo hesitated for a moment and was dragged back again.

Tan Du walked around the front hall as if he was familiar with the place and led people to the backstage lounge. He took out some water from the small refrigerator and handed it over. He leaned against the wall and took off his mask. There were beads of sweat on his eyebrows and eyelids. His face was pale, which made his lips look even redder.

Qiao Zhuoyi discovered for the first time that this man's pupils were particularly black.

"What's wrong?" Tan Du wiped his cheek with the back of his hand. "Oh, you're not used to looking without your glasses?"

"Don't you usually look at electronic products?"

"Hmm?" Tan Du smiled, "Not really."

"The whites of the eyes are very clean." Qiao Zhuoyi said.

Tan Du smiled and suddenly moved closer to him. Qiao Zhuo's breathing stopped and he controlled himself not to retreat.

Tan Du leaned back again and whispered, "Boss Qiao's eyes are also very delicate."

Qiao Zhuoyi: "Problem."

"What? You say I can say it, but I say Boss Qiao can't say it? Boss Qiao is so hypocritical—"

Tan Du laughed heartily, revealing his left fang.

The tail sound was like a meteor streaking across the sky, leaving a long tail that swept past Qiao Zhuo's ear. He felt like he was on fire and subconsciously yelled, "Who... Um..."

The lobby music stopped at some point, and amidst the silence, a hotel staff member's exasperated roar could be heard: "Who's there?"

Tan Du covered Qiao Zhuoyi's mouth with his left hand, held the cake in his right hand, and signaled him to go into the small room next door with his eyes.

There wasn't even a light in the small room. Qiao Zhuo saw the fallen wire next to the speaker in the moonlight, and immediately plugged it back in, and the music started again.

After a while, Tan Du flashed in and whispered, "Sent away."

"Yeah." As soon as Qiao Zhuo let go of his hand, the music stopped again.

Tan Du hurriedly plugged the line back in.

After three rounds, the two finally gave up struggling and accepted the reality that they had to stay here all night.
