Chapter 41 Xu Manman feels guilty

Soon, Xu Manman saw her cousin running towards her from behind, followed by a panting girl. "Why are you running so fast? I can't catch up with you."

Xu Manman got goosebumps all over her body.

Chen Ming ignored her and walked straight towards Xu Manman, "Manman, why are you here? Didn't we agree to come visit you when I have a day off?"

"I have a day off today. I asked for directions and it's pretty close, so I just came here by myself." Xu Manman looked at her cousin.

Well, you look better than the last time I saw you, but you're still so thin.

"I have a day off today too, and I was planning to leave there later." Chen Ming looked at the big backpack on Xu Manman's back and raised his hand to take it.

Xu Manman let his cousin help him take down the backpack, since it was all for him anyway. "It's a good thing you were a little slow, otherwise we might have missed each other."

"Have you had breakfast? I'll make it for you." Chen Ming led Xu Manman to the backyard. When they passed by the girl, neither of them exchanged glances. The girl stamped her feet in dissatisfaction, but didn't dare to make a scene.

"I ate on the way out."

Entering the backyard, there was a row of four rooms of the same size, three of which had locks on their doors. Chen Ming took Xu Manman into the room on the far left with the open door.

The entire house can be seen from top to bottom at a glance. It is a long and narrow house. The layout on the left is very similar to Xu Manman's house, with a stove, fire wall, and kang. There is not much space left on the right, and there are not many pieces of furniture. There are only two wooden boxes and a kang table on the kang.

There was no place on the kang for bedding, so there was a pile of scattered things, and there was a large bamboo basket on the ground next to the kang.

Chen Ming put the backpack on the kang, asked Xu Manman to sit on the kang, and began to pick up the debris on the kang.

"I was planning on bringing these to you today, but I haven't finished packing them yet. I'll bring them to you later when I take you back."

Xu Manman looked at the bags of food and the packaged dried rabbit and hurried forward to stop them. "Cousin, I told you I have enough food, money, and everything. You can keep all this for yourself."

Chen Ming listened, threw the things down, turned around and took out a familiar envelope from the wooden box. Xu Manman felt guilty and did not dare to look at her cousin.

"Aren't you short of money? Huh? I see you have money to burn. Your aunt and others gave you money so that you can take care of yourself in the countryside. Why are you stuffing it into my hands? Don't you think about it? It's such a lot of money. What if I don't see it or lose it? Take it back. Your cousin won't be supported by you." As he said that, he stuffed the envelope into Xu Manman's hands.

"You were the one who stuffed it in first." Xu Manman said softly, lowering her head and throwing the envelope on the kang. "Anyway, I've given it to you. I won't take it back."

Chen Ming stared at the top of his cousin's head, sighed, and slowly advised, "Cousin, you really don't lack money. When you went to the countryside, your uncle and aunt gave you a lot, and they send money every month. I also earn work points myself." Thinking of something, he added, "I'm thin because of my physical condition, not because I don't have food to eat."

Xu Manman believed that he had food to eat, but she didn't believe that he could eat well. "Just take it, cousin. You probably don't have any money left after giving it to me last time."

Chen Ming touched his nose and said, "My cousin still has money." Afraid that Xu Manman wouldn't believe him, he emphasized, "Really."

"Take this money first. It's not easy to grab things from the supply and marketing cooperative. Even if you have the money, you can't buy anything good. Go to the commune and bring it to me if you see anything good." Xu Manman changed her mind.

Chen Ming thought about it and finally took the money, thinking that it would be a savings for her first. Seeing how his cousin spent money lavishly, she probably couldn't keep money on hand.

"Okay, we've been talking for so long, but you still haven't seen what I brought you."
