Chapter 66 Melon Seeds

Everyone in the family knew how much Xu Manman weighed. Without the golden finger, it would be difficult for her to feed herself, so instead of sending food, she decided to give a sweater to each female comrade in the family.

But the raw materials have to come from somewhere. Today I planned to go to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy a few bundles. My cousin, a straight man, had no idea how much wool was enough for one piece of clothing, so I just gave it a try and got away with it.

Arriving at the supply and marketing cooperative, Xu Manman signed in as usual, then went directly to the cloth window to see Li Mei, the village accountant's daughter-in-law. Because the villages were paying their grain today, many people had come to the commune, and the counter was already crowded. There was no time for small talk, so Xu Manman squeezed in, asked for a few bundles of red and yellow wool, and then quickly left.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I came out. This was the first time I experienced such a scene of squeezing and grabbing things. Fortunately, I was lucky today and got all the colors I wanted. The things I bought alone are enough to buy a sweater. The price is really not cheap. I spent 21 in total.

Fortunately, Chen Ming was standing outside and didn't squeeze in, otherwise he would have been worried to death seeing Xu Manman spending so much money.

Xu Manman went to the grocery area again and weighed a few pounds of roasted melon seeds and peanuts. It was a big bag and she only spent 80 cents.

When buying it, Xu Manman thought that she could plant some sunflowers in the space and then fry them herself when she got home. But there was no other way, as this was her only hobby and she couldn't stop eating sunflower seeds.

"Cousin, what are you missing over there? Do you want to buy something?"

Chen Ming quickly shook his head, "I don't lack anything. I still have a lot from what you bought last time."

Seeing her cousin acting as if he was facing a great enemy, Xu Manman didn't plan to provoke him anymore. She glanced at the clock on the wall of the supply and marketing cooperative. It was only 11 o'clock. Her cousin had just finished breakfast not long ago. It was too early to eat now.

"Then let's go to the post office."

"Okay." Chen Ming hurriedly walked out the door carrying Xu Manman's backpack, fearing that if he was a second late, his cousin would spend money on him again.

This time, the item checked in at the post office turned out to be a package. Xu Manman didn't rush to open it. She went to the counter and asked if there was any package. She originally thought that there was no package this time. After all, it had been just over a week since the last package. At the current speed of sending letters, it would take at least half a month.

"Xu Manman, right? There's one. He just arrived yesterday."

This was something Xu Manman hadn't expected. After signing, she took the package from the clerk. She knew the address by looking at it, and Chen Ming also took a look.

"Was it sent by Uncle Xu?" The two families were related by marriage, and Chen Ming also knew that Uncle Xu was serving in the army in the Southern Military Region.

Xu Manman nodded and took out the prepared letter. Chen Ming took it and put a stamp on it together with his letter. She didn't grab it and let him do it.

He stuffed the letter into the mailbox and came out, "Let's go, my cousin will treat you to dinner."

Xu Manman pursed her lips and smiled, "Okay, I'll wait for the big meal today."

Chen Ming rubbed his cousin's head and said, "Then you have to eat more."

When the two men arrived at the state-owned restaurant, they said that there must be a lot of people coming to the commune today. It was not even 12 o'clock yet, but the line at the restaurant door was so long that it stretched around the corner.

Seeing that there were a lot of people inside, there should be no empty seats at this time. Xu Manman did not rush in to reserve a seat. She stayed outside with Chen Ming, queuing and observing.

When it was almost Chen Ming's turn to order, Xu Manman finally saw that some people had finished eating and were about to leave, so she hurried over with her backpack. After all, she had the skills to reserve seats at banquets in the countryside over the past ten years in her previous life, so she grabbed just two seats!

There were many people standing around who didn't get a seat, and some even stood in the corner with their bowls in hand to eat. Xu Manman sat as steady as a rock despite all the stares. Compared to eating, these were nothing.

Fortunately, Chen Ming came over with the dishes not long after we waited. We ordered 3 dishes and 1 soup, including braised pork, braised lion meat, shredded potatoes with vinegar and a mushy cabbage soup.

The two meat dishes were still very popular, but today Xu Manman’s favorite was still the mashed cabbage. It was her first time eating it and she was conquered by it.

When I took the first bite, the recipe for it popped into my mind. It turns out that the skill rewarded by the system can be used in this way. Then, when I eat delicious food in the future, I can replicate it in the space. This skill is really great for foodies.

The two of them finished all the soup and rice, leaving only half of the braised pork and braised lion's head. Xu Manman drank most of the soup by herself, but didn't eat much of the meat.

Chen Ming wanted to save all the delicious food for his cousin, so he kept eating shredded potatoes. Later, Xu Manman couldn't stand it anymore and put some braised pork and lion's head into his bowl.
