Chapter 4: The Ghost Wall Merit Map for your navigation
Not long after, Long Zhu came out of Hui'an Community dragging a sack. He opened the back door and saw a mountain of waste inside, with no place to put his feet.
She blinked, dragged the sack to the back of the car, opened the trunk skillfully and stuffed it in.
The car sped away, weaving in and out of the narrow alleys. Dense electric wires were tangled among the rugged buildings, and the sky was squeezed into a green crack on the top.
Long Zhu soon realized something was wrong. The roads in the alley were connected from beginning to end - it was a ghost wall!
She stepped on the brakes, pulled the gear lever, and the car squeaked and drifted into the shade under the building.
"When a thought does not arise, all dharmas are empty; when a speck of dust is not stained, all realms are connected."
She squinted and looked upward.
Two figures, one big and one small, came out from the gaps on both sides and landed on the front hood of the car. There was no trace of fallen leaves, not even a concave footprint left.
"If the mind is like still water, all things are clear; if the mind is like flowing clouds... all attachments become light!"
Long Zhu said nothing, picked up the folding mop on the passenger seat and jumped out. The Taoist priest quickly recited this section of the Sutra of Purity and Tranquility and threw out a few talismans.
Long Zhu tore the yellow paper and found that it was just a trick. At this time, the Taoist priest had appeared behind a tree. He smiled slightly, and the old tree began to sprout branches and leaves frantically, twisting them into a thick wooden rope and whipping her.
Long Zhu didn't dodge at all: "Five Elements Technique?"
After saying that, she raised the mop, and at the critical moment, she bit the wooden rope with the sponge at the front, and pulled the dehydrated handle hard. The next second, wood chips flew everywhere.
Wang Fengxu opened his eyes wide and at the same time spat out a mouthful of blood.
Wang Tianfu, who had secretly opened the trunk, saw that the situation was not right. He put down the sack and jumped over in two or three steps. There seemed to be fire in his sleeves.
Wang Fengxu acted decisively and pinched Wang Tianfu's sleeve, suppressing the flame.
"Master, let's stop fighting for now," Wang Fengxu quickly wiped the blood from his mouth and smiled brightly, "How damaging! Actually, we're here to help!"
Long Zhu looked at the other person in surprise.
Wang Tianfu also looked at his uncle in surprise.
"That little star was in your hands yesterday. If you wanted to harm him, you wouldn't have done it now."
Wang Fengxu patted the sawdust on his collar and shoulders. "The fortune I told him before said he was destined for a disaster, a very bad one, but it's been resolved."
He observed Long Zhu's expression and said, "You took people out yesterday because you wanted to help him avoid this disaster, right?"
Long Zhu shook off the crumbs on the mop: "He can't die so early, I promised him."
Wang Fengxu had a plan in mind: "Look, you also know that this era is different from the past. If you continue to show off like this, not only will the police be alerted, but the Xuanmen will also come looking for you. It just so happens that I-"
He pulled the little Taoist boy over, pinched his dimples and forced a smile: "And my nephew, Jun'er's mother asked him to come and look for someone."
"Since you're going to send him back anyway, you might as well hand him over to us. It will save you some trouble."
Long Zhu began to think.
"If you don't believe me, just tell me your fortune and see if there's any disaster that will happen to us."
Seeing that his plan was about to succeed, Wang Fengxu hastily added, "You've worked hard too, right? It's time to take a break. Otherwise, why don't you stay at our hotel? We'll welcome you back..."
Wang Tianfu whispered, "Uncle Master, aren't we staying at a guesthouse that costs a hundred yuan?"
Wang Fengxu kicked him.
"Sure." Long Zhu was moved by the word "rest" in the other party's words and really handed the sack to them: "Forget about accommodation, I have found a place to stay."
She got into the car, pointed to the front, and added coldly, "Take away your talisman."
Wang Feng put on a fake smile, pulled up his sleeves, and made a splitting motion in the air.
In the distance, an invisible talisman suddenly broke into two pieces, and the connected alleys and streets were instantly restored to their original state.
The car's accelerator was stepped on to the floor, and in an instant only a small black dot remained.
"Master, why don't you let her give us a ride?" Wang Tianfu pointed at the sack. "How are we going to get back?"
Wang Fengxu rubbed his temples: "You don't even know what she is, yet you dare to get in her car? Do you think your life is too long?"
Wang Tianfu was about to speak when Wang Fengxu's expression turned serious. He took out the Bagua mirror hanging from his waist and took a look. "I think it's the Abnormal Control Bureau that's here."
"We can't let them rob us. We haven't collected the balance yet." He quickly tied the sack, leaving a breathing hole, and swiftly shouldered it as he ran in the other direction. "Let's take a shortcut!"
Wang Tianfu ran after him with a sad face: "Just running?"
Wang Fengxu glanced at the side of the road and saw a big red tricycle parked on the side of the road. A plan began to come to his mind.
Wang Tianfu had a hunch that something bad was going to happen: "Uncle Master, you...?"
"Get in!" He really threw the sack onto the back seat of the tricycle, sat on it, released the handbrake, pressed the clutch and started the engine!
The tricycle whizzed away like a lit firecracker.
"What are you afraid of? It's not like we won't return it later." Wang Fengxu's sleeves of his Taoist robe were puffing up in the wind, and he ignored the condemning look of his nephew with confidence.
"Uncle Master..." Wang Tianfu suddenly patted his shoulder.
"What?"
"Something strange just came here..."
The brakes left a charred trail on the ground. Wang Fengxu put one foot down and turned his head to look at the dark cracks in the alleys around him.
After a while, a tall figure appeared faintly and stood there silently.
Wang Fengxu had a gloomy expression on his face.
He pinched a seal with one hand, and a few wild grasses that had grown out of the floor tiles suddenly grew wildly. After a while, they climbed onto the figure and strangled it to pieces.
The head rolled to Wang Tianfu's feet, without a drop of blood.
It looked like an ordinary face, but there were a few red strings sewn above and below the corners of its mouth, like a rag doll with its threads pulled apart.
Wang Tianfu was startled and reflexively kicked the other end in a parabola, and it fell into the big trash can.
Wang Fengxu was still standing there: "It's not over yet, I heard there are usually four generals."
Then he said impatiently, "Come out!"
Three shadows appeared in the dark alleys on both sides, walking or crawling.
They were dressed in ordinary clothes, and were of different genders and ages. The only thing they had in common was that their mouths were sewn up with red thread. Some had only a few stitches, while others were so dense that their mouths could hardly be opened.
"If you're a human, then come out and hang around," Wang Fengxu patted his nephew's head, "Don't just sit there, it's time for you to contribute."
Wang Tianfu then made a hand gesture and performed the fire technique of the Five Elements.
Several clusters of red flames with gold edges suddenly emerged from the weeds that had just grown tall. The two strange men fell down, and the crawling one jumped up and ran to the tricycle, but was licked by the flexible flames and was charred black. It fell to the ground with a plop and turned into charcoal ash.
"Watch out for the cars!"
Wang Fengxu almost cried out in frustration as several plants suddenly emerged and wrapped around the sack on the back seat of the tricycle to protect it. However, the front of the tricycle had melted into soft wax because it was too close to the flames.
Wang Tianfu felt guilty: "Sorry, uncle, I couldn't control my strength."
"Chen, you carry it back yourself!"
"How can this be? I'm not even an adult yet!"
…
The two men left with the sack, arguing.
In the darkness, a large barrel by the wall suddenly fell over for no reason, scattering smelly garbage all over the ground.
A round human head popped out. Upon closer inspection, several fingers appeared from the mouth, "walking" in a strange and creepy manner by moving their knuckles.
There were some unburned limbs in the black ashes, scattered here and there, and no one knew who they belonged to. At this moment, they slowly gathered together, and the head spit out the broken hands, busily piecing together a new, incomplete body.
The makeshift figure turned its head in a certain direction, slowly crawled up the wall, and disappeared into the shadows like a spider.
At the same time, a team of well-trained people silently surrounded the Hui'an community.
They wore tight-fitting blue-black uniforms with cobalt blue thunder patterns embroidered on the lapels. They carried strange equipment and were not ordinary security personnel.
"Is it here?"
The light-haired girl chewed bubble gum and fiddled with her phone: "The navigation is delayed, so I can only follow you here."
With that, the group headed upstairs. A serious electronic voice rang out from their phones as they went, "The Merit Map is guiding you! Go straight upstairs. There are signs of spiritual activity in Room 302. We've identified four living people and zero dead. There are no current dangers. You can arrive safely and on time!"
"Run away?" Someone frowned: "No one died."
The girl breathed a sigh of relief, and the bubbles she blew popped, sticking to her lips. "That's not a good thing, hurry up, Captain."
Several people opened the door one after another. The walls of the room were painted gray-green, giving the whole room a cold color.
"There's someone in the sack in the corner, knocked unconscious."
"Chen family?"
"No, the facial recognition result shows another victim, and the family just reported the case two hours ago."
"Let's take him to the hospital—what's that noise on the balcony?"

In the quiet room, the washing machine is working hard and alone.
The captain frowned and observed intently at the door for a while. Later, she gestured to the team members, and they surrounded the place with weapons in hand.
Click--click--click--click--click--
The speed of the drum washing machine increases, which means it is in the dehydration stage.
The captain squatted down: "There are quite a lot of clothes."
She suddenly stopped and found that there were three faces in the rapidly spinning drum! They were staring at her blankly and numbly in the foam...
It wasn't clothes at all! It was three living people huddled together!
"Holy crap!" The captain ripped the washing machine door off, sending sudsy water gushing out. "No one's dead, right?!"
The bubble gum girl turned on her phone camera and pointed it at him: "He's not dead, he's still breathing."
The captain struggled to pull them out, his expression puzzled: "How did this get in there?"
The man in the middle had a scar on his head. He seemed to be out of his mind and was trying to squeeze himself back in panic.
"... Let me in, let me in... I'm so dirty... I need to wash, I need to wash..."
The captain tutted, "What's going on?"
The bubble gum girl shook her head: "Let's take him back first. His soul is almost gone, and I guess there's not much consciousness left."
When the few people were about to leave, the girl looked back at the room.
The captain urged her: "What's wrong?"
She hesitated, her manicure tapping against the screen.
"I just measured the remaining spiritual power."
The captain came over suspiciously: "Is there anything unusual?"
The girl had a strange expression on her face and handed the phone interface to the other person to see.
"The backend is paralyzed..."
