Chapter 330 Yao Yao Will Take Care of Me for the Rest of My Life (Final Chapter)
A rain of red envelopes blanketed every corner of the capital.
Before this wedding, no one expected that finding money on the street would become a reality.
So much so that many years later, people still remember the day the two young ladies from the capital got married.
That was truly a grand wedding, a joyous occasion for all.
Jiang Xingyao and Ji Yunyin didn't inquire about any of the wedding procedures. In Ji Yunyin's words, maintaining mystery was the key to creating a surprise.
This drone light show was also unexpected for Jiang Xingyao, but she was certain that this extravagant idea must have been Jin Qingyu's.
Qin Mobei could never do such a thing.
After the wedding, Jiang Xingyao and Ji Yunyin returned to their respective bridal chambers.
Not long after, Ji Yunyin called, insisting on discussing with Jiang Xingyao how to count the gifts they had received that day.
Jiang Xingyao truly admired Ji Yunyin's energy, but since today was a joyous occasion for their wedding, she didn't want to spoil the mood. As the two were opening red envelopes, Ji Yunyin suddenly asked, "Yaoyao, don't you feel like someone's missing from today's wedding?"
Jiang Xingyao thought for a moment and knew who she was talking about.
Today is Qin Mobei's wedding, but his younger brother Qin Jiangnan hasn't shown up at all.
Jiang Xingyao thought that perhaps it was because of her that Qin Jiangnan felt embarrassed and deliberately did not come.
Before she could say anything, Ji Yunyin angrily said, "Fine, that Qin Jiangnan! He's still out partying while I'm getting married. He doesn't even come to see his sister-in-law, let alone give me a wedding gift. He's really something. I'll teach him a lesson when I see him next time."
As Ji Yunyin was speaking, Jiang Xingyao opened a red envelope. The envelope was unsigned and did not contain money, but a pair of rings. The rings were irregularly shaped, with each facet inlaid with dazzling small diamonds. Just by looking at the shape and cut, one could almost feel a sharp and imposing aura.
When Jiang Xingyao saw this, she immediately thought of Qin Jiangnan. Only he would give such a gift with such an ambiguous meaning.
"Yaoyao, what's wrong? Why aren't you saying anything?" Ji Yunyin asked again.
Jiang Xingyao said, "Yinyin, I think I received a gift from Qin Jiangnan."
She took a picture of the ring and sent it to Ji Yunyin.
Ji Yunyin quickly let out a scream: "Holy crap, this thing really is Qin Jiangnan's. I even knew it when he ordered it. He said he was going to use it to confess his love to you. Now that you're married, why is he sending this thing here again?"
What is he planning to do? Is he trying to steal the bride?
Jiang Xingyao was somewhat exasperated by Ji Yunyin's nonsensical speculations.
She said, "These are a pair of rings, and he has sent both of them now. I think he is trying to say that he has let go of the past."
From now on, may we all live in peace, amidst the vast mountains and seas.
This is undoubtedly the best outcome for Jiang Xingyao.
She never wanted Qin Jiangnan to waste too much time on her.
"So that's how it is? I never expected this kid to have such a hidden side."
No, if he has time to send you gifts, it means he must be back.
"Fine, since he's in the capital and hasn't prepared anything for his sister-in-law, I'm going to find him right now and demand an explanation."
Ji Yunyin hung up the phone in a flurry.
Jiang Xingyao felt somewhat helpless about her personality.
At this time, Qin Jiangnan was in the Qin family mansion.
The motorcycle engine had just stopped running when he took off his helmet and saw Ji Yunyin standing under the eaves.
"Is something the matter?" Qin Jiangnan asked.
His tone was not good, his voice was a little hoarse, and Ji Yunyin could also see that the corners of his eyes were a little red.
Ji Yunyin didn't confront Qin Jiangnan directly as she had said on the phone. Instead, she took two steps toward Qin Jiangnan and asked softly, "Have you put everything down?"
Qin Jiangnan chuckled self-deprecatingly: "It's not that easy. That was the first person I ever liked. How could I let go of her so easily?"
"Then what exactly did you mean by giving her the wedding rings?" Ji Yunyin asked again.
Qin Jiangnan said, "It's my business that I like her. She's already married. I don't want to make things difficult for her, so I'll just let her think that I've moved on."
He casually tossed his helmet onto the car, stepped over Ji Yunyin, still with that lazy and unserious demeanor, but Ji Yunyin could sense a hint of heaviness in his back.
"How many days will you stay this time?" Ji Yunyin asked again.
In fact, she hadn't seen Qin Jiangnan for a year.
Ji Yunyin thought that if Jiang Xingyao hadn't been getting married this time, Qin Jiangnan probably wouldn't have come back.
Qin Jiangnan paused slightly: "I'll leave tomorrow."
He just came back to see her once, to see that she was truly happy, and that was enough.
Ji Yunyin hesitated for a moment, but did not say anything to persuade her to stay.
Qin Jiangnan's sincerity was evident to her, but feelings are never logical.
Perhaps from the very beginning, when Qin Jiangnan and Jiang Xingyao were always at odds, thus missing out on their engagement, it was clear that there was no possibility between them.
Jiang Xingyao was unaware of what had happened to the Qin family.
After Ji Yunyin hung up the phone, Jiang Xingyao lost interest in thinking about the red envelopes.
When Jin Qingyu came in, he saw red envelopes scattered haphazardly on the bed, while Jiang Xingyao was writing her new song with her head down.
He reached out and took the things from Jiang Xingyao's hands and put them aside: "Yaoyao, it's getting late, let's write again tomorrow. You need to rest now."
Jin Qingyu took over Jiang Xingyao's mealtimes and rest time, reminding her on time every day like an alarm clock.
"Have all the guests left?" Jiang Xingyao asked.
Jin Qingyu said, "They've been seen off."
He casually tidied up the red envelopes on the bed and moved them aside. When he leaned closer, Jiang Xingyao didn't smell any alcohol. She asked, "Didn't they try to get you drunk?"
“Of course there is. Especially your brother, he’s probably still resentful that I married his sister. He’s gathered a lot of people to try and get me drunk. I know you can’t stand the smell of alcohol, but luckily I was prepared and had Jin Yuanqiu replace it with water beforehand,” Jin Qingyu said.
Jiang Xingyao smiled slightly as she listened to Jin Qingyu's boastful words.
How could that old fox Zhou Huaiyan not know that the wine was replaced with water?
He had probably accepted Jin Qingyu sincerely, so he turned a blind eye to it.
Jiang Xingyao still cooperated and said, "I knew my husband was the best."
She almost never called him husband.
Over the past year, they've been inseparable while out in public, but Jiang Xingyao has never called him that before.
This time, as soon as she spoke, a dark glint flashed in Jin Qingyu's eyes. He reached out and pulled Jiang Xingyao into his arms: "Really? Your husband is capable in more ways than just this. Would you like to try, wife?"
He pressed closer, his hot breath brushing against Jiang Xingyao's neck, instantly stirring up a sense of intimacy.
However, Jiang Xingyao is currently pregnant, only one month along, and cannot have sexual intercourse yet.
But that didn't stop Jin Qingyu from pestering her to do everything he could.
The person who always acted like an alarm clock, strictly regulating her sleep time and reminding her to go to bed early, completely went on strike today. Jiang Xingyao herself didn't even know what time she stayed up all night; she only knew that when she woke up, it was already noon.
Her wrists and legs ached terribly.
The culprit, however, remained completely unaware and came over to invite her to eat as soon as she woke up.
Jiang Xingyao rarely threw a tantrum: "Jin Qingyu, do you know how awful you were yesterday? I don't even have the strength in my hands anymore, I don't want to eat anymore."
Jin Qingyu wasn't annoyed. He brought the food in and sat down on the edge of the bed, saying, "Then I'll feed you."
"This isn't about feeding or not feeding at all," Jiang Xingyao corrected with a stern face.
Jin Qingyu said, "I know, it's my fault. Yao Yao's hands are meant for playing the piano, I shouldn't have..."
"Shut up, don't say another word." Seeing that he was about to say something inappropriate, Jiang Xingyao quickly stopped him.
"Okay, that's all for now. Can Yaoyao eat now?" Jin Qingyu asked again.
He scooped up a spoonful of porridge and held it to Jiang Xingyao's lips, his movements as gentle as if he were coaxing a child: "Eat it while it's hot, we still have to go see Grandpa later."
After finishing their meal, Jiang Xingyao and Jin Qingyu tidied up briefly and then went to the cemetery.
They first visited Jin Qingyu's mother, and then went to the cemetery where his maternal grandfather was buried.
Jiang Xingyao placed the flowers she brought on the tombstone and bowed deeply to it: "Grandpa, your grandson who was most worried about you is doing very well now. I have found my own happiness, have my own career, and now I have a baby. You can rest assured."
“Grandpa, thank you for raising Yaoyao so well. From now on, I will take care of Yaoyao for you. I promise I will never let her suffer any grievances, so please rest assured,” Jin Qingyu said.
The wind rustled through the leaves, making a sound like a silent response.
Looking at the tombstone that he had personally erected, Jiang Xingyao felt a sense of déjà vu.
She had previously discussed with Qu Xinting about buying a better cemetery for her grandfather. Qu Xinting said that what she personally arranged was the best for the old man.
So even though she is becoming more and more successful, the old man is still in the same place as before. Jiang Xingyao looked at this overly remote cemetery and said, "Jin Qingyu, I plan to renovate this place."
Jin Qingyu said, "I'll listen to you. From now on, we'll do whatever you say in all matters concerning our family."
Jiang Xingyao punched his chest: "Jin Qingyu, do you know what you look like right now?"
"Like what?"
"I'm henpecked," Jiang Xingyao said.
"So what? I'm happy to be managed by Yao Yao, but Yao Yao must take care of me for the rest of my life," Jin Qingyu said.
The warm midday sun shone down, bathing him in a golden light, making Jiang Xingyao seem to see again that tall figure from her memory, the one she longed to follow.
“But a lifetime is very long,” Jiang Xingyao said. “You’re not allowed to complain.”
"I promise I won't. I'll just feel like a lifetime isn't long enough."
"Then, make a pinky promise?"
"Once we pinky swear, we can't go back on our word. From now on, Yaoyao has to keep an eye on me."
Their little fingers intertwined gently, as if they were entwining their future paths together.
The love of youth eventually blossomed into a lifelong companion.
