Chapter 33 It's just a house.

Chapter 33 It's just a house

Jiang Xingyao still couldn't become an ordinary couple with Jin Qingyu, nor could she go to Gangcheng with Jin Qingyu.

The reason was that Jin Qingyu had forgotten a USB drive containing important files at the company.

He happened to be passing by when he went to pick it up. He parked his car downstairs at the Jin Group building, and Jiang Xingyao watched him go upstairs, then casually opened the window to let in some fresh air.

Just then, she saw two employees coming out of the company and passing by their car. By sheer coincidence, Jiang Xingyao overheard their conversation.

"Did you receive Secretary Jiang's invitation? Are you going or not?"

"Why not go? Everyone knows that Secretary Jiang and President Jin have a special relationship now. Who knows, she might become our president's wife one day. At times like this, we should naturally try to please her."

"That's true. On the other hand, President Jin is really good to Secretary Jiang. He just gave her such a nice house in Wangshan Manor. Judging from this, it won't be long before our current president's wife has to step down."

"Tsk, what president's wife? I think she's just a shrew. Haven't you heard? Secretary Jiang hasn't been coming to work lately because she was pushed down the stairs by her and broke her leg."

"Haven't you noticed how quickly President Jin has been working these past few days? I think he just wants to finish these things quickly so he can appease Secretary Jiang."

As the two were talking, they were about to walk past Jiang Xingyao.

Their voices echoed in Jiang Xingyao's ears again and again, and Jiang Xingyao felt a buzzing in her mind.

She seemed to have completely lost the ability to think at this moment, her mind filled with the four words "Wangshan Manor".

Seeing that the two people were about to walk away, Jiang Xingyao suddenly pushed open the car door and chased after them: "Where were you talking about? Where did Jin Qingyu give the house to Jiang Cancan?"

"Wangshan Manor." The two women exchanged a glance, seemingly not recognizing Jiang Xingyao, Mrs. Jin. "Who are you? Why are you so agitated?"

I received a definitive answer once again.

Jiang Xingyao's feet were a little unsteady.

She thought of the bouquet of red roses Jin Qingyu brought home, and the bowl of noodles he cooked for her in the middle of the night.

It turned out that while she was wondering why Jin Qingyu was so unpredictable, he had already given her the answer.

It turns out that his kindness stemmed from guilt.

"Hey, are you alright?" One of the women asked tentatively when she noticed that Jiang Xingyao's expression was off.

But Jiang Xingyao no longer had the mind to respond to them.

She pushed away the woman who was blocking her way, ran to the roadside, and hailed a taxi.

The two women exchanged another glance, one of them looking speechless: "What kind of person is this? It's utterly inexplicable."

The other person looked somewhat surprised: "Xiaoyue, if I'm not mistaken, that person just now looked like Mrs. Jin. She... she left in such a hurry, could it be that she's planning to cause trouble for Secretary Jiang again?"

The woman called Xiaoyue also realized what was happening: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's hurry up and inform President Jin!"

In the taxi, Jiang Xingyao was scrolling through her phone when she came across Jiang Cancan's WeChat Moments.

The picture above is a selfie. She is sitting on the balcony with a bright smile on her face, surrounded by clusters of rose vines.

The post on WeChat Moments was posted exactly one hour ago. If Jin Qingyu hadn't come to pick up the USB drive, they should have arrived at the airport by now, which means she would definitely have seen Jiang Cancan's post before boarding.

Jiang Cancan was deliberately provoking them.

No wonder she's been so quiet these past two days; it turns out she never intended for them to travel smoothly.

Although the rose blooming season has passed, the clusters of vines are still growing vigorously.

Jiang Xingyao wouldn't mistake it; this was the house her mother left her, and even these roses were planted by her grandfather with her own hands back then.

With her hand pressed tightly against her chest, Jiang Xingyao felt as if Jiang Cancan's smiling face on the screen was a knife stabbing into her chest, cutting open her heart, making it difficult for her to even breathe.

Just as Jiang Xingyao felt her hands and feet getting cold and her consciousness becoming hazy, her phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from Jin Qingyu.

On the flickering phone screen, Jiang Xingyao seemed to see the man's face, a malicious smile mocking her naivety.

The phone rang and then automatically disconnected; Jiang Xingyao did not answer it.

But soon a second phone call rang.

Then came the third one…

The fourth one…

The person making the call seemed tireless, which deepened the sarcasm in Jiang Xingyao's eyes.

Jin Qingyu is not actually an emotional person.

Is he in such a hurry because he knows where she is? Is he afraid she'll cause trouble for his mistress?

Jiang Xingyao felt that all her patience with the Jin family and Jin Qingyu had been exhausted at this moment. She immediately silenced her phone and urged the taxi driver, "Please drive faster, I have an urgent matter."

It wasn't until she spoke that Jiang Xingyao realized her voice had become trembling.

The car soon arrived at Wangshan Manor.

Looking at the tightly closed door, Jiang Xingyao stood at the entrance, forcing herself to calm down before opening it.

Childhood memories flooded my mind as the door opened.

But at this moment, Jiang Xingyao had no mind to recall anything.

She saw Jiang Cancan sitting on the swing that her grandfather had made for her, surrounded by clusters of rose vines climbing all over it.

There was a constant clanging and banging noise inside the room, indicating that there were probably other people there besides Jiang Cancan.

When Jiang Xingyao looked at Jiang Cancan, Jiang Cancan also saw her. A look of fear flashed in her eyes, and she cried out in surprise, "Sister, what are you doing here?"

Jiang Xingyao had no interest in arguing with her here.

She took two steps forward, grabbed Jiang Cancan's hair, and pulled her off the swing. Then she slapped Jiang Cancan across the face.

Jiang Cancan seemed not to have expected this, and took the slap squarely. Her eyes immediately reddened: "Sister, why did you hit me? You and Qingyu are already married. This house already belongs to Qingyu. It was Qingyu who made me move in. You... Ah!"

Before Jiang Cancan could finish her explanation, Jiang Xingyao slapped her on the other side of her face again.

Her fingers were still trembling, but when she saw the few rose vines that had been torn down beside her, her expression turned even colder. She tried to swing her hand at Jiang Cancan again, but someone grabbed her from behind.

He Qifeng said coldly, "Jiang Xingyao, are you crazy? What did Jiang Cancan do to you? You just attacked me."

As he spoke, he grabbed Jiang Xingyao's wrist and threw her aside, then bent down nervously to help Jiang Cancan, who was lying on the ground.

Jiang Xingyao was no match for the sheer strength of a grown man. She was thrown back and stumbled, crashing into the wall beside her.

She was hit in the lower abdomen, and the pain almost brought tears to her eyes.

She bit her lip hard, trying to hold back the tears welling up in her eyes.

She couldn't cry; she absolutely couldn't show weakness in front of Jiang Cancan.

She steadied herself against the wall, grabbed the pruning shears from the windowsill, and hurled them at Jiang Cancan, yelling, "Get out! Get out of my place!"

He Qifeng reacted quickly, reaching out to shield Jiang Cancan from the scissors, which pierced the back of his hand, drawing blood instantly.

Jiang Cancan seemed startled and screamed before rushing to check He Qifeng's wound.

He Qifeng pushed Jiang Cancan away.

Staring at Jiang Xingyao with eyes full of hostility: "You madwoman, do you want to kill someone?"

"If you still don't get out of my house, I might as well give it a try." Jiang Xingyao leaned on the windowsill, her voice trembling as she spoke, her pupils filled with madness, like a lioness who had lost everything, as if she could devour someone at any moment.

Even He Qifeng, who is 1.85 meters tall, couldn't help but feel intimidated by Jiang Xingyao's crazy gaze.

He muttered under his breath, "How could Qingyu marry a lunatic like you? It's just a house. If you hadn't driven Jiang Cancan to desperation, why would she have moved in? Ultimately, it's still..."

His words kept going on and on, each sentence landing in Jiang Xingyao's heart, making her feel as if countless flies were buzzing around her ears.

In fact, she could no longer hear what He Qifeng was saying very clearly.

Now she only had one thought in her mind: to drive these two out, to drive them out of this place that held so many memories of her youth.

Looking around, Jiang Xingyao couldn't wait to find a suitable weapon.

She didn't speak for a moment, giving He Qifeng time to comfort Jiang Cancan on the ground. But the next moment, He Qifeng saw the terrified look in Jiang Cancan's eyes. When he turned around, he saw Jiang Xingyao coming out of the kitchen with a kitchen knife in her hand.

"Sister... what are you doing?" Jiang Cancan's voice trembled violently.

He Qifeng was also a little flustered. He warned, "Jiang Xingyao, don't be impulsive. It's just a house. Jiang Cancan is only staying for two days. You don't need to..."

The sound stopped abruptly, his pupils contracted, and he saw Jiang Xingyao raise the kitchen knife to smash it down.

He had narrowly escaped the scissors earlier, only managing to cut his hand, but he was really hesitant to block this kitchen knife.

He frantically dragged Jiang Cancan to the side, yelling, "Are you crazy? Do you really want to kill someone?"

Jiang Xingyao has indeed gone mad.

She saw the two of them knock over the flower stand next to them, and the rose vines that her grandfather had planted were torn to shreds.

The place that holds her most beautiful memories has become dirty.

This place holds too many of her memories; she herself is reluctant to set foot here.

But all of this was destroyed by Jiang Cancan and Jin Qingyu.

Jiang Xingyao stared blankly at the large expanse of torn flower vines.

Her hands and feet were ice-cold, and she leaned against the wall like a lifeless puppet.

He Qifeng was still cursing incessantly, and Jiang Cancan was crying with red eyes. Amidst the chaos, Jiang Xingyao forced herself to regain consciousness. She looked at Jiang Cancan and was about to speak when He Qifeng suddenly raised his voice: "Qingyu, you're here. You need to deal with this madwoman. She wants to kill Jiang Cancan."

Amidst the chaos, Jin Qingyu saw Jiang Cancan's trembling shoulders, He Qifeng's bleeding hands, and Jiang Xingyao's cold, emotionless eyes.

He stepped forward.
