Chapter 121 Jin Qingyu, did you get a fake certificate?
Jiang Xingyao took a plane to Hong Kong early in the morning.
As soon as I went downstairs, I saw Jin Qingyu.
He leaned against the Bentley, his well-tailored suit making his handsome features appear even more refined. In Ji Yunyin's words, he looked quite presentable.
He saw Jiang Xingyao, walked straight over, and reached out to take the suitcase from her hand.
Jiang Xingyao dodged it immediately.
Her gaze towards Jin Qingyu was tinged with wariness: "What are you doing here?"
Jin Qingyu said, "No one says that after a divorce, we should never see each other again. I'll take you home."
Ignoring Jiang Xingyao's attempts to avoid him, he simply stuffed her suitcase into the trunk.
"What exactly do you want?" Jiang Xingyao asked again.
Jin Qingyu opened the passenger door: "Yaoyao, we've already got the divorce certificate, what else are you worried about?"
I just wanted to see you off, to fulfill my responsibility one more time, is that not even allowed?
The trunk was closed, only the passenger door was open. Jin Qingyu rested one arm on the door, and his eyes, as he looked at Jiang Xingyao, seemed to hold an unprecedented gentleness.
He wore a light-colored suit today, which was quite different from his usual cold and austere appearance.
Jiang Xingyao saw that the wedding ring on his ring finger was still shining brightly in the sunlight.
"Will you fulfill your responsibilities as an ex-husband?" Jiang Xingyao said sarcastically.
Jin Qingyu said, "It's rush hour now, so it might be inconvenient for you to get a taxi. I'm just taking you to the airport, I won't do anything, why are you so wary?"
Or are you afraid?
The words "Mrs. Jin" were almost on the tip of his tongue, but Jin Qingyu forcibly swallowed them back. He looked at the woman's cold face beside him, and in the warm sunlight, he could almost see the tiny, fine downy hairs on her cheeks.
They were so close, yet they seemed so far apart.
He could no longer easily utter the name he used to address her.
After a moment's hesitation, Jin Qingyu reminded her again: "If Miss Jiang delays any longer, her flight may be late."
You really don't need to be so wary of me, you…”
Before Jin Qingyu could finish speaking, Jiang Xingyao had already impatiently gotten into the car.
She casually brought the car over, and the sudden noise almost pinched Jin Qingyu's finger.
Jin Qingyu's eyes darkened slightly. He glanced down at the wedding ring on his ring finger, as if confirming something.
When he returned to the driver's seat, his face was gentle again.
This was so different from his usual self. Jiang Xingyao looked at the faint smile on his lips and felt extremely uncomfortable. She said, "Jin Qingyu, has anyone ever told you that your smile is disgusting?"
Jiang Xingyao wasn't deliberately provoking him.
She really couldn't stand the deliberate curve on Jin Qingyu's face; it was blatant, feigned gentleness that made her feel uncomfortable all over.
Jin Qingyu's smile finally froze. He took out a steamed bun and a soy milk from the side and placed them in front of Jiang Xingyao: "You haven't had breakfast yet, have some to eat first, so you won't feel uncomfortable on the plane later."
Jiang Xingyao did not eat breakfast.
Whether she was in the Jiang family before or later as Mrs. Jin, there were always people to take care of everything for her.
But today she suddenly started packing her things herself, and since she was probably going to stay in Hong Kong for a long time, she was a bit flustered. She got up in the morning and checked her suitcase, which took up some time, and in the end she didn't even have time to eat.
Jiang Xingyao originally intended to eat a couple of bites of airplane food.
She didn't react at all to the steaming buns in front of her.
Jin Qingyu added, "Your stomach isn't good. If you don't eat, you'll probably feel uncomfortable later. Eat something first. There's no need to make things difficult for your body."
Jiang Xingyao finally accepted the breakfast he offered.
She felt a little self-deprecating, realizing that he had always known she had a stomach problem.
It was only because she was still his wife at that time that he was certain she wouldn't leave him, so he didn't care.
Now, it's just a divorce certificate that's brought back all his memories.
Jin Qingyu waited until Jiang Xingyao had almost finished eating before starting the car.
The car air freshener had been changed; it now carried the same faint ebony scent as his clothes. There wasn't a trace of freesia in the car anymore; everything seemed different.
But so what?
Jiang Xingyao thought that once a mirror is broken, it is broken. Even if someone wants to fix it and forcibly glues it back together, they can't smooth out the cracks.
Jiang Xingyao remained silent the entire way, even glancing at the road conditions every now and then. Jin Qingyu didn't miss her little actions and said, "Don't worry, it's the way to the airport. Jiang Xingyao, aren't you being a little too cautious? I wouldn't stoop to human trafficking."
He pretended to be relaxed and spoke to Jiang Xingyao in a half-joking tone.
Jiang Xingyao's hands were on her knees, and her face remained expressionless.
The atmosphere became awkward once again, and Jin Qingyu asked sheepishly, "What did Jin Yanzhou say to you yesterday?"
It's not surprising that Jin Qingyu saw her talking to Jin Yanzhou right at the entrance of the old house.
Jiang Xingyao hesitated for a moment, then said casually, "Or should I say the news about you getting fake documents?"
With a screech of brakes, the car screeched to a halt. Jiang Xingyao lost her balance and lurched forward, but Jin Qingyu reacted quickly. He reached out and grabbed her shoulder, helping her regain her footing: "Are you alright, Yaoyao?"
Jiang Xingyao's eyes lit up with inquiry. Just as she was about to ask a question, Jin Qingyu slammed his fist on the steering wheel: "After spying on me for so long, you've finally found an opportunity to rub salt into my wounds. You'll fabricate all sorts of rumors. It's disgusting. Why would I go through all that trouble to forge documents and go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register for divorce? Are you trying to make me a laughingstock?"
Jiang Xingyao kept staring at Jin Qingyu's profile; the divorce certificate was still in her bag.
The registration was done at the Civil Affairs Bureau, and all the necessary procedures were followed. Jiang Xingyao herself felt that there would be no problem with the certificate, but Jin Yanzhou's words still made her feel like a thorn was stuck in her heart.
Jin Qingyu also noticed Jiang Xingyao's gaze and asked, "Yaoyao, don't you believe me?"
Yes, I don't want a divorce, but it was all arranged by my grandfather, and he found the connections. I have no choice. If you don't believe me, I'll take you to the Civil Affairs Bureau now to have an anatomical test done.
His attitude was absolutely certain.
Seeing that he was really looking for a place to turn the car around, Jiang Xingyao's suspicions finally dissipated a bit. She said, "Take me to the airport."
Jin Qingyu responded, then sighed, "Yaoyao, I know you've been very disappointed in me lately. Now that the divorce is a done deal, there's no way to change it. If this certificate can make you feel a little more at ease, then this divorce was worth it."
A hint of surprise flashed in Jiang Xingyao's eyes. She always felt that, given Jin Qingyu's personality, he would never say such magnanimous words.
Sure enough, the next second she heard Jin Qingyu say, "But in my heart, you will always be my wife. Even if you leave, I will win you back."
Yao Yao, I won't let go.
The car finally stopped at the airport. Jin Qingyu helped Jiang Xingyao with her suitcase, took her to the security checkpoint, and clung to her sleeve, reluctant to leave.
Jiang Xingyao said expressionlessly, "Let go."
Jin Qingyu said, "I'm sorry, Yao Yao, I can't go to Hong Kong with you this time. I'll finish up what I'm doing as soon as possible and then I'll come to Hong Kong to find you."
"No need, don't come, Jin Qingyu. No one wants to be entangled with their ex-husband."
Especially a husband who had an affair with another woman during the marriage and even caused the death of his child.
"I hate you, I'm disgusted by you. From now on, let's go our separate ways and never see you again," Jiang Xingyao said.
Without further hesitation, she snatched her suitcase from Jin Qingyu and went through security.
Jin Qingyu watched her figure disappear into the distance. Underneath her slightly oversized coat, the woman's figure was slender and delicate, yet she forced herself to straighten her back, and even her neck was held high, like a white swan.
Amidst the throngs of people, Jin Qingyu could almost hear the clatter of her high heels on the ground.
He felt empty inside, a strange feeling rising within him. He should have guessed it sooner; Jiang Xingyao hadn't worn high heels for quite some time.
Even if he had asked her to attend a banquet before, she would no longer choose high heels.
It turned out that she was already pregnant at that time, but she had kept it a secret from him.
If… Jin Qingyu thought, if Jiang Xingyao had told him back then, he would have definitely dealt with Jiang Cancan's matter as soon as possible.
After all, he always cared a lot about Yao Yao.
If he had known earlier, he would have definitely cherished his little swan and never let her suffer any injustice.
The plane soon arrived in the port city.
The port city is shrouded in fog again today.
As soon as Jiang Xingyao stepped out of the airport with her suitcase, she saw Zhou Huaiyan, with Zhou Keyuan standing next to him.
This once powerful figure in the port city now acts like a child, asking Zhou Huaiyan from time to time, "Where's Xinxin? Why hasn't she come yet? Did you lie to me again? Did you lose Xinxin?"
"Uncle Zhou, I'm here." Jiang Xingyao walked directly to Zhou Keyuan's side and greeted him.
During this period, Zhou Huaiyan sent Jiang Xingyao several messages, all mentioning Zhou Keyuan.
Just last night, Zhou Huaiyan was still asking her about her flight time. Jiang Xingyao felt that someone like Zhou Huaiyan, who stood at the top of the pyramid in Hong Kong, would probably not lower himself to seek out someone he had only met a few times unless he really had no other choice.
Upon seeing Jiang Xingyao, Zhou Keyuan's expression became even more excited. He said, "My dear daughter, you really came! Did you go to see your mother? Is she alright?"
"Uncle, Miss Jiang just got off the plane. Let's talk about it when we get back," Zhou Huaiyan coaxed in a low voice.
