Chapter 63 Jin Qingyu, Do We Deserve to Have a Child?
When the car returned to Xiyuan, it was already one o'clock in the morning, and the sky was already beginning to lighten.
Since becoming pregnant, Jiang Xingyao has been particularly prone to drowsiness, and she fell into a deep sleep after getting into the car.
When Jin Qingyu carried her out of the car, she was barely awake. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and asked someone to put her down.
Jin Qingyu rarely saw his aloof wife so naive, and in a very good mood, he hugged her even tighter: "Why are you getting down? Wouldn't it be better if your husband carried you back?"
Jiang Xingyao was indeed very tired and too lazy to argue with him over such a trivial matter, so she simply let him be.
After Jiang Xingyao finished washing up, Jin Qingyu squeezed into the bathroom and grabbed a hairdryer to dry her hair.
In the mirror, damp with moisture, you can't see expressions, only the blurry figures of the two people.
Silence reigned all around. Jiang Xingyao seemed to be thinking of the cake Mrs. Gu had mentioned, and a hint of embarrassment flashed across her eyes.
She adjusted her posture slightly, about to say something, when Jin Qingyu suddenly lowered his head, his lips pressed against the top of her head, and said indistinctly, "Yaoyao, we've been married for so long, shouldn't we have a child?"
Before Jiang Xingyao could react, he grabbed the woman's waist and dragged her to the sink.
A burning kiss followed.
By the time Jiang Xingyao realized what was happening, her back was already pressed against the cool mirror.
The man's lips pressed against hers, and his body carried her as they swayed on the mirror.
He raised Jiang Xingyao's hand above her head and pressed it against the mirror. The icy temperature made her shiver all over.
The hairdryer, which was still on, was placed aside. Amidst the whistling wind, Jiang Xingyao was kissed until her body went limp, and tears welled up in her eyes.
She struggled to escape the overly ambiguous and strange atmosphere, but couldn't find a way to do so.
Instead, the man pressed her down even tighter, and said in a deep voice, "Be good, Yao Yao, don't move."
"Jin Qingyu, don't touch me, I don't want it." With her lips and tongue finally free, Jiang Xingyao immediately said expressionlessly.
Her eyes were still wet and red from being bullied and ravaged, but they were excessively cold, as if they had no emotions at all, like a sharp knife, just enough to pierce a man's heart.
A hint of dejection flashed across Jin Qingyu's face. He didn't let go of Jiang Xingyao's waist, and he tried to remind his wife, "Yaoyao, we've been married for over a year, and we haven't had any marital relations in a long time. You..."
"Isn't that normal? Jin Qingyu, have you forgotten how often you go home? You shouldn't be interested in that kind of thing." Jiang Xingyao said sarcastically, and pushed him away.
Knowing that she had misunderstood Jin Qingyu, she did feel a little guilty, but that guilt was not enough to erase all the wounds Jin Qingyu had caused her, nor was it enough for her to reconcile with Jin Qingyu without any resentment.
No, in fact, they were never on good terms.
Jumping off the sink, Jiang Xingyao grabbed a towel and dried her messy hair herself.
Ignoring what the man in the bathroom was thinking, she turned off the bedside lamp.
After a while, she was drifting off to sleep when she heard footsteps. The mattress behind her collapsed, and a hand reached out from behind and quickly pulled her into its arms.
Jiang Xingyao felt a sudden surge of wariness. Fortunately, he didn't do anything; he just held her like that, and a low, husky voice whispered in her ear, "Yaoyao, I'll learn to be a good husband. Please don't keep pushing me away, okay?"
“There are no audience members here,” Jiang Xingyao said. “President Jin doesn’t need to act.”
She gave him too many chances.
But he never let her win. Jiang Xingyao found his current fawning manner quite amusing.
Perhaps the great President Jin was moved to tears by bowing his head this time.
In the darkness, Jin Qingyu's pupils seemed to be splattered with ink as he asked Jiang Xingyao, "Why do you always resist having a child with me?"
Do you resist?
Jiang Xingyao has never resisted.
In the period immediately following her marriage to Jin Qingyu, she dreamed of having a child with the man she loved most.
But she didn't dare to back then.
She feared that her child would become a tool for Jiang Yuncheng to extort money from the Jin family.
Later, after repeated disappointments, what she feared most was not Jiang Yuncheng, but Jin Qingyu's inability to shoulder the responsibility of a father.
She feared that her child would be born into a chaotic and unpleasant environment.
"Yaoyao, answer me," Jin Qingyu asked again.
Jiang Xingyao didn't answer; instead, she asked, "Jin Qingyu, are you worthy?"
Am I worthy? Do we deserve to have a child together?
As she spoke, her fingers unconsciously pressed against her lower abdomen.
This child shouldn't have come.
Neither she, nor Jin Qingyu, nor their chaotic home could provide this child with a normal living environment.
Jiang Xingyao's first words almost made Jin Qingyu lose his temper, but after hearing her next few sentences, Jin Qingyu placed his hand on her trembling shoulder: "It was my oversight, Yaoyao, I can wait until you feel it's appropriate."
Jiang Xingyao clutched her stomach and didn't respond to him. Silence returned to the surroundings.
When Jiang Xingyao woke up in the morning, Jin Qingyu was no longer there. Only the faint scent of ebony on her pillow proved that he had slept in the master bedroom the day before.
Jiang Xingyao took the phone and sent another message to Cen Yan, asking about Qu Xinting's situation yesterday.
I learned from Cen Yan that Jiang Yuncheng really did take Qu Xinting to the company early in the morning.
Cen Yan also said that Jiang Yuncheng had been coaxing Qu Xinting these past two days, while Bai Fang had suffered a lot of mistreatment at home and had recently started taking care of Qu Xinting.
Finally, Cen Yan suddenly said, "Madam, I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I always feel that you seem to have your own plans. You said that her joining the company now, is it...?"
At least in Cen Yan's opinion, although she always clung to Jiang Yuncheng, she never suffered in front of others. Now, not only did Jiang Yuncheng take her to the company, but Bai Fang was also treated like a slave at home.
Cen Yan always felt that Qu Xinting wasn't as confused as she appeared.
Jiang Xingyao scoffed at Cen Yan's words, saying, "You must be overthinking it. She joined the company just to help Jiang Yuncheng with his problems. I'll have to trouble you to keep an eye on her for me in the future."
Rather than believing that Qu Xinting had other schemes, Jiang Xingyao was more willing to believe that Jin Qingyu could turn over a new leaf.
Yesterday at the banquet hall, in front of so many people, Qu Xinting showed no pity for her daughter and said extremely vicious things. Jiang Xingyao didn't think she was sober at all.
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Xingyao calmed down for a long time before getting up, tidying herself up, and going downstairs to eat.
Just as Lin Ma brought the food to the table, she saw Jiang Xingyao and took something from the coffee table and handed it to her: "Madam, I don't know who put this at the door this morning, it should be for you."
Jiang Xingyao took the tickets and glanced at them. They were two concert tickets from Dijing Entertainment.
For some reason, she thought of what Jiang Cancan had said last night.
Looking at these two tickets, Jiang Xingyao felt that they had some ill intentions.
If the gift was given to her by someone close to her, they should at least have sent her a message or left a message, instead of just leaving it at her door.
Jiang Xingyao thought for a moment and handed the things to Lin Ma: "Put them aside."
Without asking any questions, Lin Ma put the things away and said, "The old house called and said that Miss will be coming over later."
The young lady that Lin Ma mentioned is Jin Qingyu's cousin, Jin Yuanqiu.
The old man had previously asked Jin Yuanqiu to come and keep her company often, but so much had happened recently that Jiang Xingyao hadn't seen Jin Yuanqiu since.
However, the last time Jiang Cancan broke her leg and stayed at Xiyuan, the old man suddenly visited. Later, she heard from Lin Ma that Jin Yuanqiu had called. She thought that the matter was what Jin Yuanqiu and the old man had talked about.
Jiang Xingyao responded, and Lin Ma added, "Also, when the gentleman left, he said he had booked a restaurant for you to go over for lunch."
Jiang Xingyao was in a fairly good mood, but when she heard Jin Qingyu's name, she muttered to herself, "He's really gotten addicted to acting."
Lin's mother heard it clearly and couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh.
Jin Yuanqiu arrived quickly. Jiang Xingyao had just finished breakfast and Lin Ma hadn't even finished packing her things when she arrived.
"Second sister-in-law, do you have any other plans for today? I hope I haven't bothered you?" Jin Yuanqiu asked.
Jiang Xingyao had originally planned to go for another prenatal checkup, but now that Jin Yuanqiu had arrived, she naturally couldn't go. She could only say, "No need to bother you. Why did you suddenly come over today?"
She and Jin Yuanqiu hadn't exchanged many words, but from her visits to the Jin family, she could tell that Jin Yuanqiu's relationship with Jin Qingyu was better than her relationship with Jin Yanzhou.
Jin Yuanqiu said, "Grandpa has been talking about you a lot lately. He's worried about you, so he asked me to ask if Second Sister-in-law can go to the old house for the Mid-Autumn Festival."
This was actually a disguised test to see if her marriage with Jin Qingyu could continue.
A hint of unease flashed across Jin Yuanqiu's face. She then advised, "Second sister-in-law, Grandpa really misses you. Could you go to the old house to see him and put his mind at ease?"
Jiang Xingyao did not refuse.
She still needs Jin Qingyu's help, and even if Jin Yuanqiu doesn't say anything, she will still go to the old house with Jin Qingyu during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Jin Yuanqiu and Jiang Xingyao chatted for a while longer before her gaze fell on the two concert tickets on the coffee table. She asked in surprise, "Second sister-in-law, how did you get Cheng Jing's tickets? Do you like Cheng Jing too?"
"I don't know who gave it to you, but you can take it if you like," Jiang Xingyao said.
Jin Yuanqiu was very happy, and she confirmed again, "Second sister-in-law, you really don't need it? Then I'll really take it. I'll record a video for you at the concert."
Jiang Xingyao wasn't very interested, but seeing how enthusiastic Jin Yuanqiu was, she didn't discourage the girl. However, she still had a bad feeling about the concert.
