Chapter 124 Heaven's Arrangement
“Ms. Du, it’s not what you think, it’s…” The sales clerk stepped forward to explain, but Du Wei interrupted her directly, “Shut up, who gives you the right to speak here?”
She held onto Jiang Xingyao's hand tightly, and Jiang Xingyao's patience had run out. She said, "Du Wei, if you insist on being unreasonable, don't force me to take action."
She had never provoked Du Wei even once, but the other party would relentlessly harass her every time they met.
She doesn't owe Du Wei anything, so there's no need for her to keep putting up with it.
"You want to lay a hand on me? You're telling the truth. While Huaiyan isn't here, you're trying to fool Uncle Zhou. Do you still want to..."
Before she could finish saying "face," Jiang Xingyao had already raised her hand and slapped Du Wei across the face. She said, "Du Wei, I don't have that much patience to waste on you. And stop using your own assumptions to speculate about me. Something that could be clarified with a phone call is being used to label me a gold digger. I won't tolerate that."
Jiang Xingyao shoved Du Wei aside and left with Zhou Keyuan. The spoiled young lady froze for a moment, then reacted and immediately chased after Jiang Xingyao, reaching out to hit her back.
Jiang Xingyao raised her hand to block, but Zhou Keyuan suddenly pushed her away, and Du Wei's slap landed squarely on Zhou Keyuan's shoulder.
"Uncle Zhou, are you alright?" Du Wei was startled and quickly asked.
Zhou Keyuan pushed her away, protecting Jiang Xingyao behind him like an eagle protecting its chicks: "Get out of the way, you're not allowed to touch Xinxin's daughter."
“No, Uncle Zhou, you’ve been tricked by her. She must have lied to you while Huaiyan wasn’t around. She…” Du Wei rambled on, trying to convince Zhou Keyuan, but seeing the suspicion in his eyes, she changed her tone, “Uncle Zhou, I can’t explain it to you. Let the police talk to you.”
Jiang Xingyao noticed that her phone screen was lit up; the woman had indeed called the police after all.
She didn't know where Du Wei got her confidence from. She followed Zhou Huaiyan around every day but knew nothing about the Zhou family's affairs, but that didn't stop her from making decisions for the Zhou family.
Security guards in the mall spotted Zhou Keyuan and gathered around to deal with the situation.
After hearing Zhou Keyuan's words, the security guards wanted to drive Du Wei away, but Du Wei insisted that Jiang Xingyao had lied to Zhou Keyuan.
The people in the mall didn't recognize Jiang Xingyao, and it was the first time they had seen Zhou Keyuan come out with someone else. Du Wei was the eldest daughter of the Du family in Hong Kong. They looked at each other for a moment, unsure of what to do.
Only the saleswoman from the luxury store tried to explain for Jiang Xingyao, but Du Wei silenced her with the claim that she had been bribed with commissions.
Seeing that things were going badly, the sales clerk quickly sent the store's surveillance footage to Assistant Han.
I called again to let them know.
The security guards, who were originally there to protect Zhou Keyuan, have now become their henchmen because they don't recognize Jiang Xingyao.
Jiang Xingyao said, "Du Wei, aren't you afraid that Huaiyan will get angry if you have Uncle Zhou blocked here?"
"You don't need to twist my words or scare me. Given the relationship between my Du family and the Zhou family, Brother Huaiyan won't do anything to me. Besides, I'm doing this out of kindness, for Uncle Zhou's safety," Du Wei said arrogantly.
Jiang Xingyao couldn't reason with her at all. Just as she was about to call Zhou Huaiyan to tell him what was going on, Du Wei saw this and reached out to snatch her phone.
Zhou Keyuan couldn't listen to much. He had been silent during Du Wei and Jiang Xingyao's argument, but now that he saw Du Wei about to hit him again, he quickly came over to try and push her away.
As for the security guards who were standing by, they quickly squeezed over to protect Zhou Keyuan's safety.
The scene immediately descended into chaos.
You bump into me, I bump into you. It was originally just about grabbing a phone, but Du Wei was still angry and wanted revenge for the slap she received earlier, so she took advantage of the chaos to try to attack Jiang Xingyao.
Then a cry of alarm rang out: "Stop hitting him! Mr. Zhou has fallen!"
Like a thunderclap from a clear sky, it instantly restored tranquility to the chaotic atmosphere.
Jiang Xingyao also saw that Zhou Keyuan had been knocked to the ground by someone, and she hurriedly said, "What are you all standing there for? Why don't you call an ambulance right away?"
It was only when the security guards appeared that they realized what was happening and quickly made a phone call.
Du Wei's face was pale. She was stunned for a while, then suddenly realized what was happening and pointed at Jiang Xingyao, saying, "It was you, it was you who pushed Uncle Zhou down in the chaos to try to get away, right?"
Jiang Xingyao was so angry she almost laughed. Zhou Keyuan's condition was still unknown, yet her first reaction wasn't to save him, but to shirk responsibility.
Jiang Xingyao ignored Du Wei and asked Zhou Keyuan, who was sitting on the ground, "Uncle Zhou, are you alright? Is anything bothering you?"
Although Zhou Keyuan seems to be doing well now, the old man's bones are brittle, and Jiang Xingyao didn't dare to help him up directly before knowing the specific situation.
“Xin Xin, don’t be afraid, Uncle is fine. Don’t tell Xin Xin, she’ll be ashamed if she knows I’m so old and still fell down.” Hearing that Zhou Keyuan’s first thought in this situation was still about his white moonlight, Jiang Xingyao didn’t know what to feel.
Even though it was inappropriate, Jiang Xingyao thought of Qu Xinting again. Her lips moved, and she suddenly wanted to confirm whether the name of Zhou Keyuan's white moonlight had the character "Ting" in it.
If it really is...
Jiang Xingyao felt that fate was playing tricks on her. She carefully cherished Zhou Keyuan, afraid that he would be angry, unhappy, or wronged.
Qu Xinting has been Jiang Yuncheng's servant for over twenty years.
The piercing sound of a police siren interrupted Jiang Xingyao's question.
The police arrived before the ambulance.
Du Wei was negotiating with someone there: "It's her. While Huaiyan was away, she tricked Uncle Zhou, who was in a daze, into buying her a bunch of luxury goods. Now I've caught her red-handed. In order to run away, she even pushed Uncle Zhou down. You guys take her away quickly."
"Madam, please come with us." The lead police officer showed his badge and said to Jiang Xingyao.
Jiang Xingyao said, "It's not what she said. Before taking me away, you should at least check the surveillance footage. You can't just listen to her side of the story and jump to conclusions about this matter."
"Jiang Xingyao, are you questioning the handling of the case? The police officers know the procedures better than you do," Du Wei said shrilly.
"Is that so? In that case, please take this slanderous Miss Du away, officers." Just when Du Wei felt she had the upper hand, Zhou Huaiyan's voice drifted in from outside the crowd.
Upon hearing the commotion, a group of security guards and mall staff quickly made way for them.
Zhou Huaiyan's tall figure was thus exposed to everyone's view, but Jiang Xingyao looked at Jin Qingyu standing next to Zhou Huaiyan.
Zhou Huaiyan frowned almost imperceptibly. It turned out that the important client Zhou Huaiyan was meeting today was Jin Qingyu.
“Brother Huaiyan, what are you doing? She lied to Uncle Zhou, it was her!” Du Wei said.
Zhou Huaiyan ignored her and said bluntly, "I know what's going on in my family. Why don't you take this slanderous Miss Du, who is suspected of intentionally injuring someone, away?"
The police only realized what was happening at that moment.
They were indeed summoned by Du Wei to arrest Jiang Xingyao, on the grounds that Jiang Xingyao had deceived Zhou Keyuan. But now that the person in charge has personally vouched for Jiang Xingyao, doesn't that mean Du Wei is making a false police report?
Du Wei was quickly taken away. Jiang Xingyao said, "Brother Huaiyan, I'm sorry, it's all my fault for not keeping a close eye on Uncle Zhou."
“It’s not Xin Xin’s fault, it’s that bad woman. She was the one who tried to hit Xin Xin. I fell down while protecting her. Xin Xin will be very happy to know this,” Zhou Keyuan said.
Ever since he saw Jiang Xingyao, he has been constantly mentioning the name "Xin Xin" while eating and drinking. Zhou Huaiyan has gotten used to it.
Unfortunately, Zhou Keyuan only mentioned this name the most, and Zhou Huaiyan couldn't get any more information from him.
"She hit you? Where are you hurt? Let me see." Jin Qingyu stood in front of Jiang Xingyao and reached out to grab her hand.
Jiang Xingyao immediately shook him off: "President Jin, have some self-respect and don't lay a hand on your ex-wife."
Jin Qingyu froze, his movements stiffening. He said, "Yaoyao, don't be like this. Even if you're angry with me, don't joke around with your body. Where exactly did she touch you?"
"She didn't even touch Xin Xin's daughter. I shielded her from harm. With me here, Xin Xin's daughter won't get hurt." Zhou Keyuan's somewhat smug voice cut between Jin Qingyu and Jiang Xingyao.
Jin Qingyu frowned.
He looked at Zhou Huaiyan with a strange expression.
When did Jiang Xingyao become so close to the Zhou family? The last time he called, asking Zhou Huaiyan to find someone to help take care of Jiang Xingyao, Zhou Huaiyan refused.
A hint of suspicion flashed in Jin Qingyu's eyes, but he didn't ask the question at that moment. The ambulance arrived quickly and took Zhou Keyuan to the hospital.
Jin Qingyu then dragged Jiang Xingyao along, insisting on taking her for a full-body checkup.
Jiang Xingyao felt extremely impatient, and her first words were like stabbing Jin Qingyu in the heart: "Mr. Jin, you have such leisure time to come to Hong Kong. Aren't you afraid that while you're not in the capital, your things will be divided up by others?"
Jin Qingyu and Jin Yanzhou have been fighting fiercely lately, and it has even made the news.
Even though Jiang Xingyao hadn't paid special attention, she had heard some rumors.
Jin Qingyu opened his mouth, some words habitually escaping his lips, but upon seeing Jiang Xingyao's cold eyes, he hesitated, swallowing the hurtful words and looking at her with a gentle expression: "Even if work is busy, there's still time to pursue you, Yaoyao. I was planning to contact you after I finished work tonight, but fate brought us together first. Isn't this an arrangement from heaven..."
“Shut up,” Jiang Xingyao said. “Jin Qingyu, you must have overheard Huaiyan’s phone call, or some other rumor, and you came here on purpose. Don’t blame it all on God. God doesn’t have as much free time as you.”
