Chapter 6: Can you introduce me to someone?

Part of the reason was because of the times, and part of the reason was because of changes in her family.

Lu Changzheng pursed his lips and said nothing.

After leaving the guesthouse and walking towards the family compound, the road under my feet was a bit bumpy.

They met some family members on the way. When they saw Lu Changzheng bringing Jiang Tang over, they looked at them curiously.

The military region here is very large, and Lu Changzheng is well-known in the army, but not everyone in the family compound is familiar with him.

After all, he almost never set foot in the family compound.

It is normal for handsome men and beautiful women to attract other people's attention when they first arrive.

Lu Changzheng was worried that Jiang Tang would feel uncomfortable because others were staring at her too much, so he lowered his eyes and found that her gaze was calm and curious, without a trace of shyness.

I don’t know if he doesn’t know how to be shy or if he thinks it’s unnecessary?

Lu Changzheng brought the people to the yard that he had just applied for yesterday, next to which was the home of a political commissar of the neighboring regiment.

The political commissar's sister-in-law is a teacher in a military primary school. She is a very kind person.

This is also the reason why Lu Changzheng chose this place.

He opened the gate and took Jiang Tang into the yard.

"Am I going to live here from now on?"

Jiang Tang looked at the courtyard in front of her. Although it was a mud-walled house, it was much better than her previous life in the mountains.

Moreover, the room opposite the door has three rooms. When you walk in, you can see that in addition to the main room in the middle, there are two rooms on each side.

On the left side of the yard is a smaller house, which is the kitchen and utility room.

There was also a room on the right, but Jiang Tang didn't understand what it was used for.

Lu Changzheng explained, "In the early years, transportation to the family compound was inconvenient, so the families who came to accompany the troops had to farm their own fields and raise chickens, ducks, and pigs."

Jiang Tang touched here and there, and nodded continuously. She liked this yard with nothing in it very much.

"Is this my home from now on?"

Lu Changzheng hummed softly, "It's not ready yet. I'll come and clean it up after I get off work, and then you can move in."

"I'll clean it up myself."

Jiang Tang volunteered. Although she had never done it before, she could learn.

She had memories of working in her head.

Lu Changzheng looked at her with some confusion, but when he thought of her experience, he nodded.

"Pack up the things you can do and the rest you can't, and wait for me to come back."

Lu Changzheng gave instructions as if he was a husband about to go out giving instructions to his wife at home.

He himself was stunned.

Jiang Tang didn't hear it.

She kept nodding, her eyes moving around, looking around and thinking about how to clean up her future home.

Seeing her eager look, Lu Changzheng smiled.

"I'll say hello to the comrades in the logistics department later. They'll come to you. Just tell them if you need anything."

"good."

Jiang Tang was very well-behaved. When she answered Lu Changzheng, her eyes were bright and she was very focused.

It seemed as if there was only room for him in her eyes.

This made Lu Changzheng suddenly think, "Are you really willing to give up a girl like this?"

He shook off the strange thoughts in his mind and looked at this room and that room. Facing the earthen walls and tiled houses, he could not help but smile at the female comrades who were not only not disgusted but also very interested.

Not long after Lu Changzheng left, comrades from the logistics department came over and asked Jiang Tang if he needed to prepare anything.

Jiang Tang had no experience in cleaning a house, but she had seen pictures of farmyards in storybooks before, and there were some residual images of the original owner in her mind. She waved to Xiaolin from the logistics department to come over.

"Is there anything that can keep the dirt off the wall? That white thing, is there?"

"Sister-in-law, are you talking about lime?"

"lime?"

Jiang Tang frowned, her little mind racing, and she nodded.

"Can you get it?"

"Can."

Although the walls of this house are mostly made of adobe, there are also stones and straw inside.

The wall in the house has been polished very smoothly, so there should be no problem in painting it with lime.

Xiao Lin from the logistics department asked Jiang Tang what he needed so that he could bring it together.

"If there's any in the logistics department's warehouse, please send it over. If there's any missing, I'll keep track of it for you and send it over to you when you have it."

Jiang Tang was very happy.

"You're such a nice person, thank you."

She had nothing to give Xiaolin, so Jiang Tang looked up at the mountains in the distance and decided to go to the mountains after finishing the house.

She planned it well, but buying a house was beyond her expectations.

By the time Lu Changzheng got home from get off work in the army, she had barely finished painting the entire house.

Seeing Lu Changzheng appear in the yard, Jiang Tang, wearing a hat folded from newspapers, waved at him with a big brush in her hand, smiling, "Lu Changzheng, you're here!"

As she said this, she jumped down from the makeshift shelf. That action scared Lu Changzheng and his heart was in his throat.

"Slow down and be safe."

Jiang Tang jumped down from a height of more than one meter, stood firmly on the ground, and ran towards Lu Changzheng.

She came and stood beside him, with her hands on her hips, looking at the brand new house in front of her. Her face, which was stained with some lime, was filled with a sweet smile as she took credit for it.

"How is it? Am I awesome?"

Lu Changzheng nodded, acknowledging her contribution. "Did you brush all these yourself?"

The main house has three rooms, two rooms on each side with a main hall, a total of five rooms, each with four walls, twenty walls in total, and she painted them all in one day...

"Yes, I asked Comrade Xiao Lin to teach me, and now I can do it."

She didn't notice Lu Changzheng's expression and was talking happily on the side.

"That Xiaolin is also a good person. I couldn't do it at first, but he didn't call me stupid."

"I wonder if he's married yet?"

If Xiaolin hadn't gotten married, Jiang Tang would have liked such a gentle man.

And he also has a nice smile.

Jiang Tang's words brought Lu Changzheng back from his distraction. He lowered his eyes and looked at the girl whose eyes were clear and without a trace of distracting thoughts. He knew that this was his problem.

He was the one who said he had no mood for love first...

"Um, Jiang Tang..."

"Lu Changzheng, when I was painting the walls today, I found some tiles on the roof were broken. Can I replace the roof?"

"I'm not going to replace it all, I'll just re-tiled it."

She gestured with her hands to explain.

Lu Changzheng was puzzled. “Have you ever laid tiles before?”

Is Jiang Dawu such a jerk? He even asked Jiang Tang to do something like laying tiles?

"No, but I can learn! Just like painting the lime, this is my first time doing it too."

After she finished speaking, she grabbed Lu Changzheng's arm and took him into the house to see, "Take a look, what do you think?"

Lu Changzheng looked at the smooth and neat wall in front of him, and he couldn't help but wonder, can someone who is doing it for the first time really do it so well?
