Chapter 269 The Woman in a Tight-Fitting Outfit

Qin Shushen's voice was loud, immediately attracting the attention of those around her.

"What happened?"

"That's... why is Princess Gong here too?"

Upon hearing this, a woman dressed in men's clothing in a corner of the private room raised an eyebrow and looked over in the direction of the conversation.

At the corner of the stairs, Su Wanyan wore a light lotus-white dress with wisps of smoke, adorned with a brocade of frost-covered celestial birds soaring through the clouds. Her hair ornaments were few, but the gold and jade butterfly hairpin in her bun was particularly eye-catching.

As the saying goes, clothes make the man, and Su Wanyan's face was already beautiful, but now, with this outfit, she looked even more charming and pretty.

The woman in the men's close-fitting clothes turned her head and asked the woman at the next table in a low voice, "May I ask if this young lady is Princess Gong?"

"Yes, you don't recognize him?"

The woman in the tight-fitting clothes smiled apologetically, "I'm new here, please don't be offended, Miss, but..."

She looked at Su Wanyan from a distance and asked, "What happened?"

"It seems that Miss Qin has offended Her Highness the Princess." Qin Shushen and Su Wanyan had a grudge against each other, and they had both heard rumors about it.

I never expected to run into you here again today.

The woman who answered only touched on the subject briefly, without revealing anything further.

The woman in the tight-fitting clothes understood, but didn't ask any further questions. From a distance, Su Wanyan's eyes darkened slightly, and her smile became deep and mysterious: "Oh, so Miss Qin is slandering me."

The sound was neither too loud nor too soft, just enough for everyone in the cabin to hear.

Upon hearing this, Qin Shushen's heart skipped a beat, and her face turned deathly pale!

She staggered back a step: "No...no...I didn't slander you!"

It's over...it's all over!

These days, her father has been repeatedly warning her not to have too much contact with Su Wanyan. Su Muqing ended up in such a miserable state because she offended Su Wanyan.

She hadn't intended to confront Su Wanyan head-on; she was just grumbling a bit out of spite.

Who would have thought that Su Wanyan's few words would provoke his anger and cause him to unintentionally speak his mind!

Su Wanyan laughed and said, "No way! Miss Qin is a person with backbone, why are you afraid to admit it now? Since you dare to slander me in public, why don't you straighten your back and repeat what you just said?"

The other three women were also terrified, their faces turning deathly pale. They immediately knelt down and kowtowed, saying, "Your Highness, please forgive us. It's all...it's all Qin Shushen's fault. She was the one who started making things up about Your Highness. It has nothing to do with us..."

Qin Shushen turned around in disbelief, glaring angrily at the three of them: "You..."

The three of them were just criticizing Su Wanyan with her, and they betrayed her so quickly!

“Miss Qin seems to have some complaints about Her Highness the Princess. Instead of sneaking around behind her back, why not speak openly and let everyone hear what you are dissatisfied with about Her Highness the Princess?” Dai Zhiwan asked Qin Shushen with proper demeanor.

Qin Shushen's face flushed red and then turned pale; she was completely panicked. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists: "Who are you? And what do you have to do with us?!"

It's understandable that Qin Shushen didn't recognize Dai Zhiwan and Xu Yixuan, as they don't often appear in such settings.

"Qin Shushen!" Su Wanyan's brows furrowed, her tone suddenly carrying an air of authority.

Qin Shushen was so frightened that her heart jumped into her throat.

Su Wanyan looked down at her with a condescending gaze: "Kneel down."

Despite his calm tone, Qin Shushen lost all courage to even rant.

Her fists clenched tightly in her sleeves. After hesitating and struggling for a while, she knelt down reluctantly with a pale face, her voice trembling: "Your Majesty, I know I am guilty. It was my fault. I shouldn't have slandered the Princess. I beg... I beg Your Majesty to be magnanimous and forgive me this time."

"What?" Su Wanyan looked at her obedient appearance and sneered, "So you do know my identity. Since you know, you still dare to talk about me behind my back. I suppose Miss Qin is very clear about what crime it is to commit insubordination. Why are you begging for mercy? I still prefer your unruly appearance just now."

Qin Shushen was both frightened and angry: "It was...it was my ignorance, Your Highness, you are so magnanimous...I'm sure you won't hold it against me..."

"Then what should I do? I just want to hold a grudge. Do I look like a magnanimous person?" Su Wanyan said with a smile, "This isn't the first time you've been disrespectful to your superiors. I don't want to let you off so easily, but I'm not a heartless person. Miss Qin, tell me, what should I do with you?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Shushen felt a surge of anger rising within her, and she clenched her teeth fiercely.

What exactly did she do wrong? Was she wrong?

She remained unmoved even after two people died in the Yuan Ning Marquis's mansion—her stepmother and her elder sister. What else could this be but ingratitude, cold-bloodedness, and ruthlessness?

If she hadn't married Prince Gong, what would Su Wanyan be? She wouldn't even be worthy of carrying her shoes!

But now, she has to be so humble and subservient in front of her!

Qin Shushen was filled with rage, but she trembled and dared not utter a word. How could she know what to do? She had already begged for mercy, but Su Wanyan still wouldn't let her go?

“Since this is an act of insubordination, according to the laws of the Great Jin Dynasty, we shall have someone take off his pants and give him dozens of lashes so that Your Majesty can calm down.” A sudden voice rang out in the cabin.

Upon hearing this, Qin Shushen looked up abruptly, her eyes filled with terror.

Who is she?

Why does everyone have to step in and help Su Wanyan?

Why does everyone have to stand up and bully her?

Su Wanyan looked in the direction of the voice and was somewhat surprised to see it was the woman dressed in men's clothing.

Beside her was a girl of about thirteen or fourteen years old, with a large, bright face. Judging from her clothes and appearance, she did not seem to be her maid.

It's strange, this little girl looks very excited, her eyes seem to be overflowing with excitement.

Before she could figure it out, the woman in the tight-fitting clothes stepped forward and bowed to Su Wanyan with her hands clasped in a fist salute: "My name is Feng Yao. My name is Feng Guo Wu Hen. I greet Your Highness, the Princess."

The woman beside her also quickly bowed.

Before Su Wanyan could speak, Feng Yao asked with a smile, "I wonder if Your Majesty is satisfied with my suggestion? If not, I have other ideas."

She counted on her fingers and explained in detail: "Using finger clamps could cripple her hands, making her unable to hold a pen or play the zither, or send her to the Ministry of Justice for whipping, to make her suffer a torment, or perhaps..."

"And who are you!" Qin Shushen cried out in terror to Su Wanyan, "I am the daughter of the Censor-in-Chief. Even Your Highness the Princess cannot abuse your power against me!"

“That’s perfect. Let’s send Miss Qin to the Dali Temple. The punishments there are no worse than what I’ve described.” Feng Yao smiled, then looked at Su Wanyan: “What does Your Majesty think of this idea?”
