"Jingting!" Qiao Wanwan exclaimed in surprise, and hurriedly got up to take his pulse. Sure enough, he was having a relapse!
Qiao Wanwan took out silver needles from the bedside table drawer and began to administer acupuncture to Zhan Jingting.
About half an hour later, Zhan Jingting's complexion gradually improved.
Qiao Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief. "I told you not to drink, did you think I was trying to make you unhappy? With your current physical condition, you need to be very careful. You can't possibly drink alcohol."
"We had guests over today, and I thought you were just having a small drink to socialize, but I didn't expect you to get addicted!"
"Baby, I was wrong." Zhan Jingting took the initiative to admit his mistake.
"What's the use of just saying it? If it happens again, I won't care about you anymore!"
Zhan Jingting took her hand and kissed it. "You wouldn't bear to abandon me."
"Don't think you can control me. I mean what I say!" Qiao Wanwan warned sternly.
"Okay, I'll never do it again."
Qiao Wanwan went to get a towel and wiped his face. "It's getting late, go to sleep."
"You sleep too."
"good."
Qiao Wanwan waited until Zhan Jingting was sound asleep before turning off the lights and going to sleep herself.
This sleep, however, led to a nightmare!
In her dream, Qiao Wanwan was tightly entangled by countless vines and could not break free no matter what she did!
Qiao Wanwan struggled desperately, but the entanglement tightened, and she was gradually swallowed up...
"Ah!" Qiao Wanwan sat up in shock, panting heavily.
"Wanwan, what's wrong?" Zhan Jingting also woke up, got up and hugged her. "Did you have a nightmare?"
"Mmm." Qiao Wanwan nestled into his arms. "It was a terrible nightmare."
"It's alright." Zhan Jingting gently patted her back. "It's still early, why don't you sleep a little longer?"
"I'm not going to sleep." Qiao Wanwan checked the time. "I want to take a shower."
"Okay, slow down."
"Hmm." Qiao Wanwan took a shower and finally managed to calm herself down.
The phone on the bedside table suddenly rang.
Qiao Wanwan's heart skipped a beat!
It's only a little past six in the morning, so logically no one would call her this early!
Qiao Wanwan composed herself, stepped forward, and picked up her phone. It was a call from the Ghost Hand Doctor!
The unease grew stronger, and he nervously answered the phone, "Master, what's wrong?"
"Wanwan, something terrible has happened!" The anxious voice of the Ghost Hand Doctor came from behind. "Your grandfather...you all need to come to the hospital right away!"
Qiao Wanwan's face turned pale, and she hurriedly went to change her clothes!
The Huo family was also woken up, and the group rushed to the hospital. When they arrived at the ward, they found a white sheet covering Old Su!
"Dad!" Su Jing exclaimed, rushing forward tremblingly. "Dad, what's wrong? Don't scare me, Dad!"
Qiao Wanwan was completely stunned and forgot how to react!
Zhan Jingting walked up to the Ghost Hand Doctor and asked, "Grandpa, what happened? He was fine yesterday."
The Ghost Hand Doctor's expression was solemn. "Our initial assessment is that the Gu worms on Elder Su's body have not been completely removed."
"How is this possible..." Qiao Wanwan said in disbelief, "I clearly lured out the Gu worms myself and destroyed them myself, and Elder Su's health is also improving."
“Wanwan, when Elder Su had his sudden accident today, I saw Gu worms moving on his body, so I guessed that he had more than one Gu worm. It happened so suddenly that there was no time to save him. Your master couldn't save your grandfather. I'm so sorry…”
Qiao Wanwan closed her eyes in anguish, tears streaming down her face.
Just last night, they were chatting and laughing happily.
They agreed that once Old Master Su recovered, they would visit the Su family home in Haicheng, and he would show her the antique Su family mansion.
They agreed that he would teach her calligraphy so that she could inherit his mantle.
Why did he leave so quietly without even saying goodbye after just one night?
She hadn't even had a chance to call him "Grandpa" yet!
Qiao Wanwan was trembling slightly, feeling as if she were in an ice cellar!
Zhan Jingting stepped forward and pulled her into his arms. "Wanwan, don't be afraid..."
Qiao Wanwan buried her face in his chest and sobbed uncontrollably.
"Grandpa!" The door to the ward was suddenly pushed open, and Su Yimo rushed in, kneeling beside the bed and crying out in despair, "How could you leave like this! Grandpa, come back... Waaaaah..."
Huo Shiqian's eyes were bloodshot. He stepped forward, grabbed Su Yimo's collar, and demanded, "Say it! Was it you! Was it you!"
"Brother, what do you mean by that?" Su Yimo cried, unable to catch her breath. "You think I killed Grandpa? Why would I kill Grandpa? Do you have any evidence? If you can produce any evidence, I'll die with Grandpa right now!"
"Su Yimo!" Huo Shiqian roared in despair, "I hope it's not you, otherwise, I will make sure you die a horrible death!"
"It wasn't me!" Su Yimo cried as she explained, "You wouldn't let me get close to Grandpa at all, how could I harm him! Besides, it was clearly you and Qiao Wanwan who arranged for people to guard and take care of Grandpa, why don't you suspect Qiao Wanwan but instead suspect me!"
"Shut up! Who gave you permission to bite Wanwan, huh?"
"So you think you can just accuse me all you want?!" Su Yimo retorted, crying. "Just because I'm not related to you by blood, I don't even have the most basic human rights, right?!"
"Enough," Old Master Huo interrupted their conversation. "Your grandfather's body is barely cold; who gave you permission to argue here?"
“Shi Qian, everything requires evidence. If you don’t have evidence to prove it’s Momo, you shouldn’t make baseless accusations against her. Her household registration is still with the Huo family and hasn’t been transferred out. She’s your maternal grandfather’s granddaughter and has the right to be here.”
