Chapter 507 Are you mocking me?

Qiao Wanwan didn't say much, "How are the funeral arrangements going?"

"Don't worry, I'll arrange everything. You should get some rest, and if you have time, spend more time with Mom."

"I know."

Qiao Wanwan soon met her biological father, Huo Xiangnan.

This is a middle-aged man with an extraordinary demeanor; because he takes good care of himself, you can't tell his actual age at all.

He first went to the main hall to pay his respects to Elder Su, and was soon brought by Su Jing to see Qiao Wanwan.

“Xiang Nan, this is our daughter, Wanwan. Wanwan, this is your father.”

Because they weren't familiar with each other, Qiao Wanwan felt a little awkward and didn't know how to address her.

Huo Xiangnan, however, noticed her embarrassment and spoke first, "No rush. If you can't bring yourself to call me that, just call me President Huo, okay?"

Qiao Wanwan nodded gently.

"I really didn't expect that you would encounter such a thing so soon after you came back." Huo Xiangnan sighed. "Life and death are things that we cannot control. Don't be sad for too long. Your grandfather in heaven would not want us to wallow in grief."

Qiao Wanwan nodded, "Mm."

"I heard you brought all three children with you. May I meet them?"

"certainly."

The third child was still young, but Qiao Wanwan was worried about leaving him alone at home, so she brought him along to see Old Master Su off on his final journey.

Eleven and Nine were doing their homework in their room when they saw someone come in. They greeted them politely, "Grandma, Mommy."

"Yes," Su Jing replied hastily.

Qiao Wanwan introduced, "Eleven, Xiao Jiu, this is Grandpa."

The two children politely greeted him, "Hello, Grandpa."

Hello, Grandpa.

"Good boy." Huo Xiangnan looked at them, his eyes also reddening. "You're such good kids."

"Both children are very polite and have inherited the best qualities of Jingting and Wanwan. Look how well they've grown up," Su Jing said proudly.

"Yes, he's handsome and smart." Huo Xiangnan said, his voice choked with emotion. "Grandpa came back in a hurry and didn't prepare any gifts for you. He'll make it up to you in a couple of days, okay?"

Xiao Jiu said, "Grandpa, we don't accept gifts without having done something right."

"Grandpa's gift represents his love for you, so you can accept it without worry." Huo Xiangnan gently hugged them. "Grandpa is very happy to see you, really."

"Alright, don't disturb the kids' homework. The third one is sleeping too, so we'll see him for now. You've had a long flight, so go get some sleep. You have a lot to do later," Su Jing reminded him.

Huo Xiangnan then let them go, saying, "You two should do your homework first. Grandpa will come to see you later."

"good."

"good."

Huo Xiangnan stood up and looked at Qiao Wanwan, "Wanwan, you should rest for a while too, don't tire yourself out."

"I know."

After Huo Xiangnan and his wife left, Qiao Wanwan patted the two children's heads and asked, "Are you almost done?"

"Almost there, Mommy."

Where's Daddy?

"I work in the study next door."

"Okay." Qiao Wanwan finished her night watch and was indeed very sleepy. "You guys do your homework first, Mommy's going to get some sleep. Remember, you're not allowed to leave your room without me and Daddy with you, understand?"

"Okay."

"good."

Qiao Wanwan returned to her room, lay down on the bed, and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

She slept until evening before waking up, feeling much better. After washing up, she took her two children to find Zhan Jingting and they went downstairs for dinner.

When Zhan Jingting and Huo Xiangnan met for the first time, they naturally had to greet each other. However, Zhan Jingting was always aloof, and Huo Xiangnan wasn't a very talkative person either. They simply greeted each other and then stopped talking.

The most awkward person at the dinner table was Su Yimo.

The seat next to the head of the table, which originally belonged to her, was now occupied by Qiao Wanwan and her family. She was like an insignificant clown, sitting in the most inconspicuous position at the very end.

"Let's eat." Old Master Huo was the first to pick up his chopsticks. "Eat well, everyone, and don't worry Old Su."

"Yes." Only then did the others begin to eat.

Qiao Wanwan served food to the two children, saying, "You have to finish your food and don't be picky."

"Okay, Mommy."

The two children were very well-behaved. Although the dishes cooked by the Su family chef were not as delicious as those in Wutong Bay, they did not complain.

Qiao Wanwan knew they didn't have much of an appetite, so she served them less rice and would cook them a special meal later.

"Shi Qian, has the funeral date been set?" Huo Xiangnan asked.

"I've already had someone calculate it; it will be the day after tomorrow."

"Alright, I'll keep watch with you tonight and spend one last time with my father-in-law."

After dinner, Qiao Wanwan picked up the third child who had just woken up and fed him milk powder.

Huo Xiangnan also met the third brother and was overjoyed, hugging and kissing him repeatedly.

The third baby was quite cooperative, and as if sensing something, it didn't cry or fuss in the new environment, obediently drinking milk and sleeping every day.

It was early summer, and the weather was pleasant. Qiao Wanwan pushed a stroller, taking Eleven and Xiao Jiu to the garden for their exercise for the day.

"Mommy will time you for jump rope. Don't rush. As long as you improve compared to yesterday, that's a breakthrough."

"good."

"Okay."

As Qiao Wanwan watched the two children intently jumping rope, she felt a bit of the sadness in her chest ease.

"Wanwan." A voice suddenly came from behind.

Qiao Wanwan turned her head and saw Su Yimo walking over.

Qiao Wanwan frowned, looking at her warily, "What is it?"

Su Yimo smiled and said, "You don't need to be so wary of me. I have no ill intentions towards you."

"Is that so?" Qiao Wanwan said with a half-smile. "I don't think so."
