Chapter 555 A Cunning Rabbit Has Three Burrows

Qiao Wanwan opened her eyes, picked up her phone, and made a call.

The other party answered quickly, "What?"

"Has something happened to Xiao Jiu?" Qiao Wanwan questioned. "Zhan Xiuwen, let me tell you, if Xiao Jiu loses even a single hair, you know the consequences!"

Zhan Xiuwen sneered, "It's clearly your son who's in my hands, so how come you're threatening me? Qiao Wanwan, you don't understand your own position, do you?"

"Enough nonsense! I need to video chat with my son right now, or I'll blow up your Emperor Group!" Qiao Wanwan said firmly, each word ringing in her ears. "Zhan Xiuwen, listen up! I, Qiao Wanwan, mean what I say!"

Zhan Xiuwen was taken aback for a moment before replying, "Qiao Wanwan, don't think I don't know that once I let you video chat, you'll try every means to track Xiao Jiu's location."

“That’s right, but today is different. What I need to confirm now is whether Xiao Jiu is okay.” Qiao Wanwan said, “To tell you the truth, Shiyi had a fever. The two brothers have a telepathic connection, so I suspect that Xiao Jiu is not feeling well right now.”

"You'd better let me video chat with him to confirm things, otherwise, I don't mind fighting to the death!"

Zhan Xiuwen hesitated for a moment before saying, "I'll send you the address. See you in half an hour."

Qiao Wanwan asked the Ghost Hand Doctor to take care of Eleven, and then hurriedly left.

When they arrived at the club, Zhan Xiuwen was already there.

He looked like he'd had quite a bit to drink; his face was slightly flushed, and he was drinking a hangover soup.

"Would you like something to drink?" Zhan Xiuwen offered politely.

"No need." Qiao Wanwan sat down opposite him. "How is Xiao Jiu?"

Zhan Xiuwen took a sip of hot tea. "As expected of a mother, she can sense this. I've already asked, and Xiao Jiu has a cold and fever."

Qiao Wanwan's heart clenched. "Have you seen a doctor?"

"Don't worry, the medication has already been administered."

"How could I possibly feel at ease!" Qiao Wanwan said angrily. "Xiao Jiu's body is different from other children. He has a hereditary disease of the Zhan family. Any ordinary cold or fever will become more serious in him, making him feel more uncomfortable and harder to cure than other children!"

Zhan Xiuwen frowned. "Qiao Wanwan, since you care so much about your son, then hurry up and bring him back."

"Then tell me, what will it take for you to release my son!" Qiao Wanwan was both anxious and angry. "If the person behind you is trying to torture me, he would have succeeded long ago. Please stop and let my son go. I'm willing to give my life to get him back!"

Zhan Xiuwen sipped his tea. "You should calm down first."

Qiao Wanwan closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down.

She was so angry that she was saying these things to a puppet.

“Xiao Jiu has a special physical condition, so I need to video chat with him now to check on his condition and then guide him on medication.”

Before Zhan Xiuwen could refuse, Qiao Wanwan continued, "You're a smart man, you should know how to choose between being tracked by me and Xiao Jiu being sick and no one being able to cure her."

"I don't care what the ultimate goal of the people behind you is, but if something really happens to Xiao Jiu, he'll get nothing..."

Zhan Xiuwen hesitated visibly!

Qiao Wanwan leaned back on the sofa and said with a faint smile, "Judging from your appearance, you can't make decisions on your own. You're almost sober now. I'll give you five minutes to go out and contact the person behind you for instructions."

Zhan Xiuwen gritted his teeth silently, said nothing, and got up to leave.

Although Qiao Wanwan was extremely anxious, she had no other choice but to wait patiently.

A few minutes later, Zhan Xiuwen came in with his phone. "Here you go."

Qiao Wanwan spotted Xiao Jiu lying on a wooden bed at a glance!

"Xiao Jiu!" Xiao Wanwan's heart broke as she looked at Xiao Jiu, whose face was burning red. "Xiao Jiu, how are you? Please open your eyes and look at Mommy, okay? Xiao Jiu? Xiao Jiu!"

On the screen, Xiao Jiu struggled to open her eyes, her voice extremely weak, "Mommy..."

Qiao Wanwan's tears flowed uncontrollably. "Xiao Jiu, don't go to sleep yet. Tell Mommy where you feel unwell."

"Mommy, my body hurts so much...cough cough cough...I'm so cold...I have no strength, I just want to sleep..."

A cold glint flashed in Qiao Wanwan's eyes as she looked at Zhan Xiuwen opposite her. "Xiao Jiu is in pain. You didn't hit him, did you?"

“That’s not true!” Zhan Xiuwen said confidently. “Xiao Jiu didn’t even think about running away. In fact, he was quite well-behaved. We didn’t even tie him up, let alone hit him!”

Qiao Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that Xiao Jiu's body aches were caused by a cold.

"Xiao Jiu, listen to what Mommy has to say." Qiao Wanwan continued to look at Xiao Jiu, "You must drink more water so you can get better faster. Also, eat more. Mommy knows you can't eat much, and the food must taste terrible, but for your health, you must eat more. Even if it's just white rice, you must eat a few more bites, understand?"

"Mommy, I understand..."

Qiao Wanwan wanted to say something more, but the next second, Zhan Xiuwen snatched her phone away and hung up the video call.

Qiao Wanwan wiped away her tears and said, "There has been a lot of rain in Southeast Asia recently, and the temperature difference between day and night is also large. Xiao Jiu must have caught a cold due to the alternation of hot and cold, with both heat and cold symptoms."

“From now on, you must have the people guarding him take good care of him, cover him with thick blankets to make him sweat, but wipe the sweat off with hot towels in time to bring the fever down first.”
