Cheng Zaozao frowned!
Hearing the noise, Su Yimo turned around and saw Cheng Zaozao. She immediately stood up and said, "Grandpa, I'm leaving now. Please take care!"
"Yi Mo, Yi Mo..." Old Master Huo couldn't stop her, and shook his head helplessly, asking, "Zao Zao, what did you say to her?"
"It's nothing, just reminding her not to covet what doesn't belong to her." Cheng Zaozao smiled. "My sister is lying in bed now, and I don't know when she'll wake up. If someone tries to take advantage of this and steal her family, of course I won't allow it."
"What are you saying?" Old Master Huo frowned. "Wanwan is my most precious granddaughter. How could such a thing happen? You're overthinking it."
"That's good."
Grandpa Huo needed to stay in the hospital for a few days, so Cheng Zaozao took Eleven back to Wutong Bay first.
......
Late at night, there was a sudden knock on the master bedroom door.
"Master Zhan," Zheng Ma called from outside the door, "The Third Young Master has a fever and has been crying and fussing, and we can't soothe him no matter what we do. Could you get up and take a look?"
Zhan Jingting put on his bathrobe, opened the door, and went out.
The third child had a high fever, his face was flushed, and he had a fever-reducing patch on his head. He kept crying.
Zhan Jingting took the child from the maid's arms. "What happened? Why does he suddenly have a fever?"
"He probably caught a chill when we took him out for outdoor activities this evening; his temperature has been dropping for the past two days," Zheng Ma explained. "The doctor has already seen him and given the young master fever-reducing medication, but he keeps crying. Mr. Zhan, should we wake the old man up to check on him?"
"It takes time for the medicine to take effect, let's observe it further."
"yes."
Zhan Jingting tried to coax the third son for a while, but to no avail, and was at a loss.
Zheng Ma hesitated before speaking, "Mr. Zhan, could it be that the young master misses his mother?"
Zhan Jingting didn't say anything, but still carried the child back to the master bedroom.
Unexpectedly, as soon as the third brother went to Qiao Wanwan's side, he immediately stopped crying, and even tried his best to lean closer to her before closing his eyes and falling asleep quickly.
Zheng's mother, watching from the side, felt her eyes redden. "She really does miss Mommy..."
Zhan Jingting sat down on the bed, took Qiao Wanwan's hand, and said in a hoarse voice, "Wanwan, the third son is sick and needs your care. No matter how many servants there are, the child needs you. Please wake up soon, okay?"
Qiao Wanwan twitched her fingertip!
Zhan Jingting was stunned, almost thinking he was hallucinating. When he came to his senses, he hurriedly said, "Wanwan, you can hear me, right? Wanwan?"
Qiao Wanwan's index finger twitched again!
Zhan Jingting was overjoyed, "Quickly go and call the old man, hurry!"
Zheng's mother was so excited she didn't know what to say, "...Okay!"
The legendary healer rushed over, "Jingting, Aunt Zheng said Wanwan has moved?"
"Yes, her fingers twitched twice!"
The legendary healer stepped forward to take the pulse, then quickly frowned and said, "Could you have misjudged me?"
“No.” Zhan Jingting said confidently, “I’m pretty sure. She just moved a couple of times, and I think she could hear me.”
"But she shows no signs of waking up." The Ghostly Doctor placed Qiao Wanwan's hand under the covers. "Why is Third Brother sleeping here?"
"He has a fever and is crying incessantly."
The Ghostly Doctor asked in surprise, "You mean, Wanwan only acted because she heard that the third brother had a fever?"
"I was indeed telling her about my child's fever."
The Ghostly Doctor seemed to be deep in thought. "But Wanwan really shows no signs of waking up. Jingting, you should get some rest."
Zhan Jingting, who was usually very composed, couldn't hide his disappointment at this moment. "I understand."
The quack doctor wanted to offer some words of comfort, but didn't know what to say, so he could only get up and leave.
"You should go to sleep too," Zhan Jingting said. "I'll stay here and watch over them."
Zheng Ma nodded, "Yes."
......
Cheng rested for a few days early, but soon got busy again.
She didn't have time to take care of her third son who had a fever, so she took some time to go to the mall and buy him a toy. She finished work early that day and took the toy back to Wutong Bay, wanting to spend some quality time with her third son and cheer him up.
But as soon as I entered, I saw an uninvited guest.
"What are you doing here?" Cheng Zaozao looked at Su Yimo sitting on the sofa, quite surprised.
"Hello." Su Yimo greeted him timidly, looking quite reserved. "Master Zhan sent someone to pick me up."
"How is this possible?" Cheng Zaozao exclaimed in disbelief. "How could my brother-in-law let you come here?"
“Zaozao, it was indeed Master Zhan who arranged for someone to pick her up,” Zheng Ma explained as she came over. “Come here, I’ve asked the kitchen to prepare some new dishes for you to try.”
Cheng Zaozao was pulled to the kitchen by Zheng Ma, and said with dissatisfaction, "Why are you pulling me? I haven't even asked the questions yet!"
"Silly girl, don't force yourself. I won't lie to you. It really was Master Zhan who picked her up."
"Why?" Cheng Zaozao asked, puzzled. "Was she invited to this house to cause trouble?"
"No, that's not it." Seeing that no one was around, Aunt Zheng lowered her voice and said, "Didn't she injure her hand while saving Old Master Huo? I heard that Old Master Huo sent someone to check on her, but the door was open and she was found unconscious at home. She said her wound was infected and she had a fever. It's so pitiful."
"Later, Master Zhan brought her to Wutong Bay, saying that he wanted her to stay here with Old Master Huo so that he could recuperate in peace."
"What? She's going to stay here?" Cheng Zaozao was almost furious. "Absolutely not! You all know about the feud between her and my sister. Even if she doesn't harm my sister, she'll still make things unpleasant for her. We can't let this house become a mess before my sister even wakes up!"
