Chapter 24 Her Highness Wants to Raise Pigs

Use this.

Xiao Qingyin untied her cloak and tore it off.

The red rope around her neck and the cloak ties were tangled together and were also pulled out.

Two beads, one black and one orange, were revealed.

Yi Shuihan stared intently, his eyes darkening slightly.

He recognized the black one as the one Bai Musheng had given her that day.

These two beads must have been extraordinary to her, otherwise she wouldn't have kept them close to her body.

Was it their token of love?

Xiao Qingyin noticed his gaze, looked down, and saw that the Heavenly Bead had come out. She quickly stuffed it back into her clothes.

Yi Shuihan's expression darkened.

Xiao Qingyin spread her cloak out on the ground and put the mushrooms on it, but she couldn't fit them all in after only filling it halfway.

That's when I regretted picking up too much.

Just as he was thinking about whether to send some to the head monk of Hanshan Temple, a black cloak fell in front of him.

Xiao Qingyin was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "Thank you, Your Highness!"

Yi Shuihan turned around, leaving behind the words, "I'll go to the temple to get some vegetarian food first," and then left.

"OK."

Before long, Xiao Qingyin had just finished tidying up the mushrooms when Yi Shuihan returned with a food box.

He handed the food box to Xiao Qingyin, bent down to pick up the two bags of mushrooms wrapped in his cloak, and walked down the mountain without saying a word.

Xiao Qingyin sensed that the man was in a bad mood, but she didn't know what had happened, so she frowned and followed him.

As I walked, I thought to myself, "This person is indeed difficult to get along with; his mood is unpredictable."

When the big white horse saw her, it was so happy that it reared up on its two front hooves.

As soon as she approached, it sniffed the food box intensely.

Xiao Qingyin smiled and pushed its head away.

"This isn't for you."

The big white horse snorted in dissatisfaction.

Xiao Qingyin stroked its fur and coaxed, "How about I roast some melon seeds for you when we get back?"

The white horse's ears twitched slightly.

"There are five-spice flavor, salty flavor, pepper and salt flavor, tea flavor..."

I don't know if it understood, but the more it listened, the brighter its eyes became.

Yi Shuihan couldn't stand it and said coldly, "Don't spoil it. It's not that delicate."

"Awooo!"

The white horse roared angrily at him.

Yi Shuihan gave it a cold look, and the white horse paused, hiding its head behind Xiao Qingyin.

"It's alright, it's no trouble at all."

Xiao Qingyin turned around and hugged the white horse's neck.

The big white horse affectionately licked her.

Looking at the big white horse that was as docile as a lion dog in Xiao Qingyin's arms, Yi Shuihan inexplicably thought of the saying, "A daughter is not meant to be kept at home once she grows up."

He'd had it for two years and had never seen it so affectionate.

What an ingrate!

Yi Shuihan snorted and rode away.

He didn't say a word to Xiao Qingyin on the way back.

...

Princess Zhaoyang finally received the vegetarian meal she had ordered, only to find that her son's face looked worse than when he left.

"Han'er, what happened?"

Yi Shuihan did not reply to her.

Princess Zhaoyang turned to look at Xiao Qingyin.

Xiao Qingyin shrugged, indicating that she didn't know either.

"Your Highness, I'll go and deal with these mushrooms first."

She didn't want to feel the coldness emanating from Yi Shuihan anymore, so she took the opportunity to slip away.

Yi Shuihan's face turned even uglier.

Before Princess Zhaoyang could ask any further questions, he strode away from the main courtyard.

Princess Zhaoyang was completely bewildered: "Why are you two even more awkward together after going out together?"

...

Xiao Qingyin gave some of the mushrooms to the kitchen for dinner, and made the rest into a mixed mushroom sauce herself.

There are two flavors: beef and pork.

She kept half and gave the other half to Princess Zhaoyang.

"You can eat the pork flavor first, and the beef flavor can be eaten after you recover."

"OK."

As a noblewoman, Princess Zhaoyang did not usually eat pork.

But since it was made by Xiao Qingyin and smelled delicious, she used it to eat with her rice.

Unexpectedly, she couldn't stop eating it, and finished more than half a bottle in one meal.

I couldn't help but marvel.

"I've never had such delicious mushroom sauce in the palace! Your cooking is amazing!"

"The main reason is that the mushrooms are in season and taste delicious," Xiao Qingyin said modestly. "If we use meat from castrated pigs, the taste would be even better."

"Castrated pig?"

"Yes, castrated pigs don't have such a strong fishy smell, their meat is more tender, and they grow faster."

Xiao Qingyin replied.

"You can do that?!"

Princess Zhaoyang was greatly surprised and asked Xiao Qingyin for more details.

Then he was allocated a farm, someone bought piglets, and he asked the emperor for two butchers, and he started raising pigs with great enthusiasm.

When the Marquis of Yong'an and his son learned of this, they felt a chill run down their spines.

"Yi Jiuheng, can't you control your future wife?"

Marquis Yong'an looked utterly devastated.

"Look what she's doing with your mother!"

His beloved wife, whom he had pampered for many years with all his heart, used to only have eyes for romance, poetry, wine, and tea, but now she talks about castrating pigs and neutering all the time.

It made him unable to sleep peacefully at night, fearing that one day he would wake up to find everything gone.

Yi Shuihan gloated: "Isn't this great? Mother is finally getting down to earth."

He had long disliked this man's character; he had spoiled his mother like a useless beauty, without any of the sharpness of a princess.

Marquis Yong'an stared at him intently for a moment.

Suddenly he laughed.

"There will always be a time when you need my help."

This guy is smitten but doesn't realize it, and that girl is all talk and no action. He's bound to suffer a big fall sooner or later.

Yi Shuihan scoffed, "Just making a big fuss."

Xiao Qingyin was unaware that she had caused a quarrel between father and son. Princess Zhaoyang's treatment went very smoothly, and after one course of treatment, her physical condition had improved by 80%.
