The child stared at her blankly: "Is your sister a very skilled doctor?"
Have you heard of Baibaozhai?
"I've heard of it. I heard that there's a miracle doctor at Baibaozhai who can cure any disease."
"I am the doctor of Baibaozhai."
The child's eyes widened.
"Can someone be a miracle doctor without a beard?"
Xiao Qingyin found it amusing: "Who told you that a divine doctor must have a beard?"
“That’s what Aunt Li said,” the child replied. “She said that all the divine doctors have white beards, carry big gourds on their backs, and look like immortals.”
"Like the immortals in New Year paintings?"
"Uh-huh!"
"..."
Xiao Qingyin played with the child, laughing all the way.
Yi Shuihan was a little jealous. As soon as the carriage stopped, he put his face dark, took the child out of the carriage, and couldn't wait to send him home.
The child pushed open the door to invite Xiao Qingyin in, only to find that the door was bolted from the inside.
He frowned, walked to the window, and called out, "Mother, I'm back. Please open the door."
As soon as the sound faded, a chair fell to the ground inside the room.
The child's expression changed drastically.
She looked at Yi Shuihan and asked, "Brother, can you kick the door open for me?"
"What's wrong?"
Xiao Qingyin asked.
The child said with a straight face, "My mother doesn't even have the strength to walk, and it takes her a long time to get up. It's impossible for her to knock over a chair as soon as I call her. There must be a thief in our house."
Upon hearing this, Xiao Qingyin couldn't help but feel worried.
It would be best if something bad happened to a patient who is almost unable to move and encounters a thief.
Yi Shuihan kicked the door open, and the child rushed in, only to see a dark figure jump out of the back window.
He rushed to his mother's bedside and asked, "Mom, are you alright?"
Qin Wenjun woke up when he came in and said he had sold her, but she couldn't speak. Not long after the child left, the door opened again.
She thought it was her child returning, but to her surprise, it turned out to be Ma Laosan, who lived in the same courtyard.
Ma Laosan had been coveting her for some time, and he sneaked in to steal her away.
Unfortunately, she was too weak to move, and she coughed incessantly whenever she opened her mouth, making it impossible for her to respond to calls.
Just as I was sweating profusely with anxiety, the child's voice suddenly rang out from the window.
The moment Ma Laosan approached the bed, he was so startled that he knocked over his chair.
Immediately afterwards, a loud crash came from the outside room, and the door was kicked open.
Ma Laosan jumped out of the back window and fled.
Qin Wenjun finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She looked at her son, whose eyes were full of worry, and shook her head slightly to indicate that she was fine.
The child was relieved and said happily, "Mother, I've invited a doctor from Baibaozhai to come over for you. Look, this is the pretty lady."
The doctor at Baibaozhai?
Qin Wenjun was taken aback.
She had certainly heard of Baibaozhai, and had previously had some money and wanted to go there for medical treatment, but the shop assistant said that the owner was away and his return date was uncertain.
She had no choice but to consult another doctor.
But none of them could cure it.
Upon seeing Xiao Qingyin, she tried to sit up, supporting herself on the bed, but her hands were weak and powerless, unable to support her at all.
"Cough cough~ cough~"
All I could do was show my apology on my face.
"You can just lie down."
Xiao Qingyin smiled.
She picked up the chair that had fallen to the ground, sat down by the bed, and began to take Qin Wenjun's pulse.
After taking her pulse, I asked her, "Did you suddenly break out in a sweat, feel weak in your limbs, unable to walk a step, and then cough incessantly?"
Qin Wenjun nodded.
She was not only unable to walk, but she could not even clench her fists. Her chest felt tight and painful, and her eyelids drooped, making it difficult for her to see clearly.
I can't chew or swallow food.
Even breathing sometimes feels like it's stopping.
He had been lying on the bed, barely alive, for half a month, and all his meals were prepared by Aunt Li.
Xiao Qingyin pointed to her chest and said, "You have a tumor here, which is compressing your heart and lungs and has caused other complications."
Is it curable?
Qin Wenjun blinked laboriously and asked.
"It can be cured, but your illness has been delayed for a while, so we need to use strong medicine. You'll probably have to suffer a bit."
Qin Wenjun felt a sense of relief.
As long as it can be cured.
She wasn't afraid of suffering any hardship.
She thought she was going to pass away, and even planned to entrust her child to Aunt Li.
Unexpectedly, things took an unexpected turn, and the child's mischief led them to a doctor from Baibaozhai.
The gratitude was beyond words, and could only be expressed on their faces.
Xiao Qingyin wrote down a prescription and sent Yi Wu to get the medicine.
The child has already gotten the money back from Granny Li and is going to return it to Yi Shuihan.
Yi Shuihan took it and put it away.
He seemed very stingy.
Xiao Qingyin liked the child very much and wanted to help the mother and son.
After scanning the room, I saw an embroidery frame by the back window with a half-finished flower and bird painting on it, but unfortunately, there was a black footprint on it.
He couldn't help but frown.
Do you know that person?
She asked Qin Wenjun.
Qin Wenjun nodded.
"Are you here to steal something?"
no.
But Qin Wenjun didn't want to speak frankly, so she nodded.
Xiao Qingyin sensed something more from her hesitation, but since the other woman couldn't speak, she didn't press her for details.
That flower and bird painting aroused her great interest.
She went closer to examine it and discovered that it was actually a double-sided embroidery.
As far as she knows, the double-sided embroidery technique has been lost, and the double-sided embroidery patterns currently circulating on the market are very expensive.
At the Zhenbaozhai auction house, a double-sided embroidered fan can sell for a hundred taels of silver.
It was the kind where only one or two butterflies were embroidered.
The piece on Qin Wenjun's embroidery frame is quite large.
He then asked, "Did you embroider this?"
