"What are you thinking about?"
A familiar voice interrupted her reverie.
Connie straightened the man's tie and smiled, "I had a keen eye and won you over early on. I don't know how many women envy me."
Ni Yan smiled and said, "There are definitely more people who envy me than those who envy you."
No sooner had they finished speaking than a strong figure suddenly rushed in front of them.
“Ms. Kang, I am Ren Li, and I would like to speak with you privately.”
Ren Li?
Connie frowned as she looked at the unfamiliar face before her. "I don't know you."
The man nodded: "It's right that you don't recognize him, we've never met before, but you definitely know my man."
Connie felt even more absurd.
This woman had rough hands and feet, and fierce features. She wasn't even wearing makeup. She looked like someone who did manual labor all year round. She would never come into contact with this kind of person, so how could she possibly know them?
Nine times out of ten, they come to her seeking help, wanting her to donate her love and kindness.
Just as she was about to call security to remove him, the man leaned close to her ear and whispered, "My husband drives a truck and has worked for you before."
Connie's expression changed drastically.
After a brief moment of panic, she remembered that she had never directly interacted with the truck driver, so he couldn't possibly know that she was the one who instructed him.
Even if this woman had some suspicions, she couldn't produce any evidence.
She steadied herself, took two steps back, and said with disgust, "I don't know any truck drivers, it's none of your business."
After saying that, he looked at the security guard not far away and said, "This lady has gone to the wrong place. Please take her out."
The security guard understood and came over to ask Ren Li to leave.
Ren Li calmly replied:
"Ms. Kang, there are some things you may not know. My husband used to install surveillance cameras for people and knew some technicians."
He took on such a big job, and fearing something might go wrong, he left some backup plans. That's why I contacted you based on what he left behind.
You surely know why I'm contacting you—the compensation you initially agreed upon wasn't like this.
Connie's heart tightened.
The deal at the time did not include the driver's life.
He was told to cause a car accident that would kill Xiao Qingyin, while she would find a matching kidney donor to give her son a transplant.
Manslaughter only results in a few years in prison.
The driver agreed without much thought.
But what kind of family is the Xiao family? How could they possibly be unable to get the driver to talk?
Only the dead can keep secrets.
So she had someone tamper with the car, causing the driver and Xiao Qingyin to die in the accident.
To everyone's surprise, Xiao Qingyin didn't die, and that driver actually had a backup plan.
What evidence can surveillance cameras provide?

Her mind was in turmoil.
Whether this woman has evidence or not is not important; what's bad is if Ni Yan believes her and becomes suspicious of her.
She glanced at Ni Yan and saw that he was chatting with a distributor, looking very calm, as if he hadn't heard the woman's words.
She breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
She looked at the woman expressionlessly.
"You'd better go to a mental hospital for treatment."
Ren Li grinned: "Ms. Kang, I don't want much, just five million. I'll give you what I have on hand. Otherwise, I'll have to sell those things to the media. I believe that with your status as the wife of the richest man, those things can fetch a lot of money."
Without waiting for Connie to give any instructions to the security guards, she turned and left.
Connie was both shocked and furious.
Five million isn't much to her, but if this woman can threaten her once, she can threaten her twice.
Does this mean she'll be controlled by others for the rest of her life?
No, she would never accept it.
A murderous intent spread across her eyes.
"What did that person want from you just now?"
After finishing his conversation with the distributor, Ni Yan turned to her and asked her a question.
The murderous intent in Connie's eyes dissipated, and she smiled sweetly: "The child is seriously ill, and they came to me for donations. They asked for five million right off the bat, but I refused."
After Ni Yan topped the rich list, he was approached by many people, either asking him to help repay debts, guarantee loans, or donate to charity.

The security guard replied loudly.

After leaving the Ni's Building, Ren Li changed buses several times and arrived at a coffee shop in a small commercial street.
“Miss Xiao, I have done as you said.”
Xiao Qingyin took off her headphones and nodded slightly: "I heard you. You did very well."
