Shangguan Cheng looked at the small recording device and suddenly burst into laughter.
"Ha ha ha ha!"
The laughter echoed in the empty corridor, sounding particularly jarring.
"My dear niece, do you think that just because I let you come, I would let you leave so easily?"
Shangguan Wan's heart sank.
She stared intently at Shangguan Cheng, her eyes filled with wariness.
"What do you mean?"
Shangguan Wan asked in a low voice, her voice trembling slightly.
She had a vague feeling that things were spiraling out of her control.
Shangguan Cheng did not answer her directly, but clapped his hands lightly.
"Slap, slap."
The crisp applause sounded particularly abrupt in the quiet environment.
As the applause subsided, four tall humanoid robots slowly emerged from the end of the corridor.
Their faces were expressionless, their cold metallic luster gleaming under the light.
Each robot held a dark, menacing gun in its hand.
The gun barrels were pointed directly at Shangguan Wan and Qin Yang.
An aura of chilling menace instantly filled the air.
Shangguan Wan's pupils suddenly contracted.
She recognized these robots; they were the latest security robots developed by Fengling Group, each one costing a considerable sum.
Unexpectedly, Shangguan Cheng actually used them here!
Qin Yang's brows furrowed slightly.
He sensed that these robots were far more dangerous than any opponent he had ever encountered before.
Seeing Shangguan Wan and Qin Yang's reactions, Shangguan Cheng's smug expression grew even stronger.
"So, Wan'er, do you like this gift?"
He spoke slowly, his tone full of mockery.
"I know your cheap husband, Qin Yang, is very strong and has good skills."
Shangguan Cheng glanced at Qin Yang, his eyes filled with contempt.
"But no matter how strong it is, can it be stronger than a gun?"
He countered with a question brimming with confidence.
“Each of these robots has been specially modified and is capable of dealing with experts at the Transcendent Realm.”
Shangguan Cheng gave a detailed introduction, as if showing off his masterpiece.
"Furthermore, I specifically equipped them with the most advanced weapons."
He pointed to the gun in the robot's hand, a cruel smile playing on his lips.
"Even those at the peak of the Transcendent Realm will only face certain death before them!"
Shangguan Cheng's voice, like the whisper of a demon, echoed in Shangguan Wan's ears.
Her face grew even paler.
She knew that Shangguan Cheng was telling the truth.
These robots, along with those guns, are indeed enough to threaten the life of any martial artist.
Shangguan Cheng was full of pride and satisfaction.
He looked at Shangguan Wan and Qin Yang as if he could already see them being riddled with holes by these robots.
He made thorough preparations for this day.
These robots are his biggest trump card.
He believed that with these robots, no one could stop him!
He wanted to show Shangguan Wan how foolish it was to oppose him!
He wanted to show Qin Yang that in this world, strength is never the most important thing!
Shangguan Cheng's pride and joy were almost overflowing.
Shangguan Cheng was inwardly laughing wildly.
He could almost see the day when he would rule the entire Shangguan family!
However, Shangguan Cheng was unaware of this.
The robots he relied on were utterly insignificant in Qin Yang's eyes.
Qin Yang's strength has long surpassed the understanding of ordinary people.
Not to mention the peak of the Transformation Realm, Qin Yang has killed more than one even the half-step Saint Realm!
What are a few robots anyway?
A slight, disdainful smile curled at the corners of Qin Yang's lips.
His eyes remained calm and still, without the slightest ripple.
Shangguan Cheng's self-righteous plan was nothing but a joke in his eyes.
Shangguan Wan's face was filled with disbelief, even a hint of pleading.
"Second Uncle, do we...do we really have to come to this?"
Her voice trembled, and her eyes were filled with complex emotions, including disappointment and an indescribable heartache.
From childhood to adulthood, although her second uncle wasn't particularly close to her, they at least maintained a facade of kinship.
But now, Shangguan Cheng actually wants to kill her!
This stark contrast was something she found hard to accept at first.
Upon hearing this, Shangguan Cheng's smug expression vanished instantly, replaced by a ferocious look.
He stared intently at Shangguan Wan, his eyes filled with resentment and hatred.
"Good niece, are you scared now?"
He said through gritted teeth, each word sounding like it was being squeezed out from between his teeth.
"You forced me to do all of this!"
Shangguan Cheng suddenly raised his voice and roared.
"If it weren't for you, the Shangguan family would have fallen into my hands long ago!"
His chest heaved violently, clearly indicating that he was extremely angry.
"Since you don't know what's good for you, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
Shangguan Cheng pointed at Shangguan Wan, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
"Today, both of you will die!"
He roared hysterically, completely tearing off his mask of pretense.
Without further ado, Shangguan Cheng issued direct commands to the robots.
"Shoot!"
He said viciously, a hint of madness flashing in his eyes.
"Turn them into sieves!"
He added, his tone filled with cruelty.
