Chapter Forty-Four: That Old Man is Wicked!

"Lu Zheng?"

"Isn't this the kid our clan leader was looking for? He actually came?"

As expected, when Lu Zheng and his group came down, it was actually the security guards who were watching over them who couldn't see them clearly because of the poor lighting.

These security guards and ordinary clansmen were very grateful to Mingxiang.

However, they didn't treat Lu Zheng as well.

They just turned off the searchlights.

"Call the clan chief, guys, you guys come with me."

Since there's this Lu Zheng, Ming Xiang must have come back too.

Soon, several people came to greet them.

Upon seeing Ming Xiang, he hurriedly called out, "President Ming."

Ming Xiang nodded and said, "The clan leader told me to bring Lu Zheng back. Open the door."

The security guard gave an awkward smile: "Mr. Ming, you know the rules of your clan. We'll have to wait a little while for the clan chief's order. We're just a bunch of guys working for someone else."

This village was all built by Ming Xiang. If she wants to enter Ming Family Village, she still has to obey the old clan chief's orders.

This old clan chief wasn't like this before, but now he's really getting more and more arrogant.

Ming Xiang said with a dark face, "Do I have to report back when I go back to Mingjia Village?"

"No, no, Mr. Ming, please don't be angry. Of course you don't need to report your return, but your boyfriend does. The old clan leader just called and specifically instructed us to do so. We brothers are caught in the middle and in a difficult situation. Please, Mr. Ming."

Before Mingxiang could say anything more, Lu Zheng chuckled and said, "What they said is right. They are just security guards, paid by the village. There's no need for them to help themselves."

Originally, the reason these security guards came down was to embarrass Lu Zheng, as instructed by the old clan chief.

That's why they deliberately said that Lu Zheng wasn't allowed to go in.

But they didn't expect Lu Zheng to be so understanding.

In an instant, the security guards' attitude towards Lu Zheng became much gentler.

They put their hands together and said to Lu Zheng, "Mr. Lu, thank you, thank you."

This is true for most people: if you show respect to others, you will receive even greater respect in return.

Lu Zheng chuckled and shook his head: "It's nothing."

Mingxiang's thoughts stirred slightly.

She knew, of course, that Lu Zheng was using this method to ease the awkward atmosphere between them, and she couldn't help but sigh with admiration.

Lu Zheng is really something else.

How could she not see that the security guards had just tried to embarrass Lu Zheng?

But his gentle words earned him the respect of several security guards.

A moment later, the security guard who was making a phone call in the gatehouse rushed out.

He whispered a few words into the security captain's ear.

The security captain was instantly embarrassed.

He had just said some kind words of thanks; how could he possibly make Lu Zheng look bad now?

The clan chief meant for the security guard to tell Lu Zheng that Ming Xiang had been delivered to the village entrance, and that he could either wait outside or go back the way he came, since he couldn't get into the village anyway.

Seeing the security guard's embarrassment, Lu Zheng laughed and said, "Is the clan chief of Mingjia Village letting me leave on my own, and only allowing Ming Xiang to enter the village?"

The security guard clapped his hands: "Wow! Mr. Lu, you're amazing! I... I didn't know how to tell you this."

This is also based on the reason why Lu Zheng just told them not to put themselves in such a difficult position.

The security guards' attitude towards Lu Zheng had completely changed. Now that he had guessed their thoughts and prevented them from speaking, the security guards were even more grateful to Lu Zheng.

Lu Zheng smiled slightly and said, "You've already done it, so there's no need to make things difficult for you."

Then, he turned to Mingxiang and said, "Call the old clan chief and tell him I want to talk to him."

The security guards' eyes widened: "Mr. Lu... thank you so much!"

At that moment, they were completely convinced.

After all, they were just security guards. Lu Zheng could completely disregard everyone and cause a scene with them. If things didn't go well, it would be these security guards who would have to deal with it.

Lu Zheng was clearly a CEO, and they had heard about it, but they didn't try to intimidate him.

Over the years, as security guards, they have seen far too many arrogant and domineering people.

Some people say their security guards are dogs.

But can most security guards really make decisions?

They were given tasks by their superiors, and they were making money from them. Could they refuse to do them?

When wages are deducted, who takes responsibility for them?

Sometimes it's not that people from the lower class make things difficult for each other, but rather that people from the lower class are forced to make things difficult for each other. Of course, it's also possible that there are indeed many bad people out there, but those are a different story.

As the chairman of a company, regardless of its size, Lu Zheng's ability to achieve this is truly admirable.

Ming Xiang also felt an even deeper affection for Lu Zheng.

Seeing the security guards' troubled expression, she realized that they were not to blame.

So she nodded slightly and said, "Okay, I'll call the old clan chief."

After saying that, she dialed the old clan chief's number directly.

"Hehe, Mingxiang, have you come in?"

The old clan chief, however, just chuckled, his laughter sounding harmless.

But Mingxiang felt nauseous listening to it.

She said in a cold voice, "Elder Chief, are you not allowing Mingxiang to enter the village?"

The old clan chief said calmly on the phone, "How could that be? If it weren't for you, Mingjia Village wouldn't be where it is today. Even if I didn't allow anyone else in, I would let you in, wouldn't I?"

That's what he said, but his voice didn't sound a bit impatient; he was just waiting to see what would happen.

Ming Xiang turned to look at Lu Zheng before continuing, "Elder Chief, Lu Zheng has something to say to you."

"Oh, is it that man who only lives off women? Tell him I don't like men who live off women, and I don't really want to listen to him. Mingxiang, the old clan leader has been through this before, and he says it's best to stay away from men like that. We're from the same clan, would I possibly harm you?"

While the old clan chief was grumbling and lecturing, Lu Zheng had already gestured to Ming Xiang, asking her to give him the phone.

Mingxiang nodded slightly and handed the phone to Lu Zheng.

Taking the document, Lu Zheng listened to the old clan chief still lecturing inside, and asked with a smile, "Whether I'm a gigolo or not is not important. What's important is, old man, listen carefully. If you don't open the door and don't let us in, it's fine. We'll turn around and leave. Ming Xiang's investment in Mingjia Village will end here."

"Hey... don't say anything yet! What I want to tell you is that we mean what we say, I'm hanging up!"

After saying that, Lu Zheng hung up the phone without any hesitation.

Lu Zheng's actions left the group of people stunned for a moment.

Even Ming Xiang blinked her big, bright eyes and stared at Lu Zheng: "No, Lu Zheng, you..."

Lu Zheng chuckled and said, "This is the only way to get that old man to agree to let me in."

Mingxiang chuckled and rolled her eyes at Lu Zheng: "I knew you were a wicked old man."
