Chapter 26 The Wedding Day

"Late autumn?"

As soon as she saw the person coming, Jiang Li immediately recognized that the graceful and elegant woman in front of her was the original owner's childhood sweetheart, An Wanqiu, the eldest daughter of the An family.

As soon as Jiang Li stood up, she was hugged tightly by the other party, "Wuwuwuwuwu, little Li'er, I miss you so much..."

An Wanqiu is one year older than her. Before the An family encountered trouble, the two families lived next to each other. Ever since Jiang Li could remember, the two of them had been sticking together all day long.

"You're already an adult, stop crying! Your eyes are swollen."

Perhaps it was fate that Jiang Li liked An Wanqiu the first time he saw her. He pulled her out of his arms and wiped her tears with a handkerchief, "Okay, you won't be pretty if you cry anymore."

"Wuwuwu." An Wanqiu stopped crying instantly. "Smelly Li'er, it's been such a long time since we last met, and you're actually teasing me."

After that, An Wanqiu raised her index finger and gently stroked the tip of Jiang Li's nose, just like when they were little. "I will never leave again. Our An family can stay in the capital."

As she spoke, tears welled up in the woman's eyes.

The An family was originally a merchant family. However, ten years ago, the head of the An family accidentally offended the powerful people in the capital, and since then he has been suppressed and targeted everywhere. After more than a dozen shops went bankrupt in succession, the head of the family had no choice but to move his entire family out of the capital and go to the south to seek another way to make a living.

In the original owner's memory, before An Wanqiu left, the two of them hugged each other tightly and cried all night, thinking that they would never see each other again in this life.

"Never leaving again?" Jiang Li pointed upwards, "The entire An family?"

"Yeah!" An Wanqiu pinched Jiang Li's cheek. "My father said that we met a noble person who helped us this time. The official who oppressed our family was found guilty and sent to prison. The An family can finally move back to the capital."

As she spoke, An Wanqiu held Jiang Li's arm tightly. "Little Li'er, do you know how grateful I am to God? I was shocked to hear that you were getting married. Fortunately, I managed to rush over and finally made it. Now I can see you off."

Hearing this, Jiang Li suddenly thought of something, but couldn't remember it.

"What are you daydreaming about? Come on, let me take you to see the treasures I brought back from the south for you. I heard that you will be marrying into the prince's palace in seven days, so I plan to get some good things for you in the capital as a dowry..." An Wanqiu pulled Jiang Li away.

Jiang Li was so happy that she didn't notice that the man on the courtyard wall didn't turn around and leave until her back disappeared.

Seven days later.

On the seventh day of the fifth lunar month, an auspicious day sent by heaven, Prince Jingling got married.

Early in the morning, the capital city became bustling.

From the time when the Qin and Jiang families broke off their engagement, to the time when Jiang Li was granted marriage by the royal family, everyone has been eating melons to their heart's content these days.

Especially those unmarried women, on the surface they looked down on Jiang Li, thinking that she was unlucky and would be kicked out of the palace sooner or later. However, they secretly used their connections to ask people how Jiang Li got close to Prince Jingling, but they found nothing, which really made people angry.

Fortunately, a rumor suddenly spread yesterday, and since then no one envied Jiang Li anymore, and everyone was just waiting to see her make a fool of herself.

"Ahhhh! I'm so angry! Who on earth spread this? If I knew about this, I would definitely twist his head off!"

The wedding procession would not arrive for another hour, and An Wanqiu was now stomping her feet in anger in Jiang Li's boudoir.

Jiang Li, who had already dressed up, sat in front of the dressing mirror in her wedding dress. "My dear Wanqiu, I'm not even angry."

Isn't it just that Prince Jingling's condition worsened, and a strange man from another world calculated that her fate was most suitable for bringing good luck? Anyway, she was going to treat Gu Qingchen, so it seemed right to say that it was for bringing good luck.

Seeing Jiang Li's careless look, An Wanqiu became even angrier.

"Silly girl, do you know that Prince Jingling..." Thinking of that man's instructions, An Wanqiu paused and finally sighed, "Oh, if you marry in the name of getting married, you will be looked down upon!"

More importantly, if she were to marry in the name of bringing good luck, and Prince Jingling's illness had not been cured, Jiang Li would have to be buried alive with him.

Even if Prince Jingling didn't mean that, if he really burped, Jiang Li would still be drowned in everyone's saliva.

An Wanqiu's eyes were red again.

How cruel must this person be to spread such a rumor? He wants to put Jiang Li to death.

"Bang."

The door opened.

Jiang Shengsheng, who had not been seen for several days, appeared.

An Wanqiu subconsciously stood in front of Jiang Li, "What are you doing here?"

An Wanqiu had never dealt with Jiang Shengsheng, but after returning to the capital, she heard about Jiang Li's experiences over the years. Knowing the good things that Jiang Shengsheng and her daughter had done, she would not give the other party a good face.

Jiang Shengsheng took a step back, the color on her face still not obvious enough, obviously she had not yet gotten over the incident with Qin Lao San.

"I've already told my parents," Jiang Shengsheng squeezed her handkerchief hard, "I won't be your dowry."

As if trying to prove something, she said, "Don't think too much. I just don't want to be buried with you like you."

After saying that, she took out a long wooden box from her sleeve, placed it on the table, and turned away.

An Wanqiu's scolding came from behind, "Stinky girl, if you say another word, I'll beat you up!"

After hearing this, Jiang Li smiled.

Jiang Shengsheng has actually changed.

He gestured to Baizhi to bring the wooden box over. When he opened it, he saw an exquisitely crafted gold hairpin that looked like it was worth a lot of money.

An Wanqiu curled her lips at this, "She's considered a legitimate daughter, so adding some makeup is really petty."
