Chapter 1811 Infiltrating the Caravan

Upon arriving at the foot of the vast city, Lin Yu found an entrance.

Security checks are very strict; only one person can enter at a time.

There were only twenty such gates in the entire Mayan kingdom, so there were long queues at each entrance.

"Maya territory. Non-Mayans and non-caravans are prohibited from entering!"

Lin Yu arrived at the door and saw this slogan.

Entering the Mayan kingdom was no easy task.

Apart from Maya people and slaves purchased by caravans, no other people were allowed to enter.

This is almost equivalent to closing the country off from the world.

If it weren't for its advanced civilization and strong productivity, such isolation would probably have led to the country becoming desolate long ago.

However, the city has a good climate, which indicates that it is developing well, and its managers are also quite remarkable.

This reminded Lin Yu of the decline of the late Qing Dynasty, which was worlds apart from the Mayan Kingdom.

The unity of a nation and the rational distribution of class interests are important factors for the strength and longevity of a country.

This Mayan kingdom is something else.

Lin Yu became increasingly interested in this civilization and wanted to go inside to take a look, but he knew he would never be able to pass the security check.

The best way to get in is to find a caravan and blend in with it.

So Lin Yu returned to the desert and waited for passing caravans.

Splash! Splash!

The sound of chains clanging could be heard.

A group of people approached from the distant sandstorm.

A dozen or so camels came from the sandstorm.

The person sitting on the camel is a merchant from the Mayan kingdom.

Behind the caravan were dozens of slaves of various skin colors chained together.

Amidst the dust and grime, they appeared dazed, their lips cracked, and their faces haggard, clearly having endured much hardship on their journey.

There were guards nearby, constantly urging them on with whips. Any slave who walked too slowly would immediately be whipped.

Some of the weaker slaves were already covered in wounds.

Snap!

"Damn it, get out of here! It's getting dark soon, do you want us to spend the night in the desert?"

A tall, yellow-skinned slave was whipped hard.

Already driven by hunger and thirst, the yellow-skinned slave could no longer bear it and suddenly sprang into action, shoving the guard to the ground.

"Damn it, you actually dared to push me! You're asking for it!"

However, what followed was a brutal and merciless beating of a leather whip.

"Sir, please stop hitting him! He'll die if you keep hitting him!"

Several other slaves suddenly came over crying and pleading. They all came from the same country, and seeing their compatriots being whipped, they seemed to feel the pain as if it were their own.

"How dare you! You've gone too far!"

Clap clap clap!

After a flurry of whippings, several bloody welts immediately appeared on the bodies of these slaves.

One of them, who was already extremely weak, was now completely exhausted and collapsed to the ground unconscious.

"Damn it, he actually dares to play dead!"

The guards did not let the fallen man go; they immediately came over with a leather whip.

It was common for slaves to die on the road, and the losses could be factored into the transportation costs. However, if a slave was allowed to delay the journey, a fine would be imposed! Therefore, it was better to simply discard them.

At this point, the caravan had decided to abandon the slave and intended to kill him completely.

brush!

Just then, a figure suddenly appeared and instantly grabbed the guard's arm, preventing his whip from falling.

Who the hell are you?!

The guard's expression froze for a moment, then he immediately raised his whip. Lin Yu slapped it down, and with a bang, the man was sent flying backward.

The guards around them, as well as the merchant on the camel in front, were all stunned.

Then they all dismounted!

The crowd surrounded Lin Yu.

A wealthy-looking Mayan merchant wearing a white turban walked over and gave Lin Yu a cold stare. "Young man, what we do with our slaves is none of your business. Why are you meddling in other people's affairs?"

Lin Yu said calmly, "They are all human beings, and human beings have dignity. In this era, respect for human rights has long been written into the constitution. How can such an advanced civilization as the Maya treat others like this? What kind of behavior is this!"

"Human rights, law?"

The portly businessman scoffed, "These bastards from such low-level civilizations are as stupid as pigs, they don't even deserve to be called human, what human rights do they have! I advise you not to meddle in other people's business!"

Lin Yu frowned.

By observing only a part of the leopard, one can understand the whole picture.

It seems that the Maya looked down on less advanced civilizations with no respect whatsoever, treating them as less than human beings.

"I absolutely have to get involved in this matter today," Lin Yu said, his eyes slightly narrowed.

Now that he has encountered this situation, he naturally cannot sit idly by.

The portly businessman sneered and swiftly pulled a gleaming white steel pipe-shaped weapon from his waist.

Do you know what this is?

He slowly engaged the safety, and a blue ball of light gradually condensed in the barrel, emanating a terrifying aura.

Lin Yu said with great interest, "This is the first time I've seen a weapon like this!"

The merchant said proudly, "This is a laser gun made by our Mayan armory! It is extremely powerful and has a very long range. Even a martial saint would be seriously injured if hit from a thousand meters away!"

"Oh?" Lin Yu was slightly surprised.

Such a small pistol, yet it's so powerful! It's even more formidable than the Desert Eagle Plus. At least, China's military technology is far from reaching that level yet. These Mayans were truly something else.

"Are you scared?" the merchant sneered. "Kneel down now, kowtow and apologize to me, and become my slave. I might give you a chance to live. You're so handsome, maybe the princess will take a liking to you and reward us with a huge sum of money. I'll be rich! Hahahaha!"

"hehe!"

Lin Yu chuckled and said, "You're really obsessed with money, daring to try and take advantage of me!"

"What? You're unwilling?" The merchant's expression gradually turned cold. "That's not up to you!"

After saying that, he gave his men a wink, and two of them immediately came toward Lin Yu with chains in hand.

Bang!

Lin Yu simply shrugged slightly, and his two subordinates were instantly sent flying backward, spitting out blood.

The businessman looked shocked. "You're a martial arts master?"

"Not just a master, I am a god!" Lin Yu smiled slyly, appearing harmless.

The merchant's face instantly turned ferocious. He knew that these slaves were impossible to tame and that the only solution was to shoot them.

Bang!

The bullet exploded as a burst of blue laser light, piercing directly through Lin Yu's shoulder.

But the figure gradually blurred the next second.

It's an afterimage!

The merchant's pupils dilated suddenly, and an ominous premonition arose within him.

The next second, a large hand suddenly grabbed his neck and slowly lifted him up from the ground.

"You, gulp!" He struggled to raise the laser gun, wanting to finish off Lin Yu, but Lin Yu grabbed him with his large hand. The next second, the laser gun, made of fine steel, made a muffled explosion and was completely destroyed.

Then, to the merchant's horrified gaze... it completely melted away!
