Chapter 495 Nine Dragon Jade

Duang!

With a loud bang, the tomb raider's hole from the last century was blown open once again.

Several large heads peered into the tunnel. It was pitch black inside, and they couldn't see anything.

Koizumi Mami patted Kameda Shinichi on the shoulder, "You, go down and take a look!"

Shinichi Kameda looked completely bewildered. "Ambassador Koizumi, why me...?"

Snap!

A large bag flew over, "If it wasn't you, then who else could it be? Don't you have any self-awareness about who's the most superfluous here?"

Now that the Nine Dragon Wall has been replicated, Shinichi Kameda has little remaining value. Mami Koizumi brought him here to make him a scapegoat.

In her eyes, Shinichi Kameda was a slave, no different from a dog, and could be sacrificed at any time.

Shinichi Kameda was well aware of his position and felt utterly helpless. With a long face, he lowered himself down the tunnel along a rope.

After waiting for a while without any movement from him, Koizumi Mami became anxious and hurriedly called out, "Are you taking a dump in there? What's going on?"

After a while, Shinichi Kameda's voice came back, "Ambassador Koizumi, it's alright, it's safe inside, you should come down quickly!"

Hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and then went down into the tomb one after another.

Once they went down, they discovered that it was a long, dark corridor.

However, since everyone was wearing a headlamp, they could see clearly.

Sato Saki led the way with a compass in hand.

He stopped abruptly at a bend in the road, his expression grave. "According to my grandfather's notes, there's a trap ahead, it's extremely dangerous!"

Koizumi Mami took a closer look and discovered several skulls drawn on the notebook. They were even marked in red. This wasn't just dangerous; it was practically a life-or-death situation.

As everyone looked up, sure enough, at the turning point, there were several skeletons. Their clothes were long gone, and the white skeletons looked eerie and terrifying.

Koizumi patted Kameda on the shoulder, "You, go and take a look first!"

"Ambassador Koizumi, this..."

"Go now!!"

Kameda shuddered as Koizumi pulled out a small pistol and coldly pointed it at his forehead.

There was no other way; even if there were mountains of knives and seas of fire ahead, this scoundrel had to go forward!

He moved forward shakily, taking each step slowly and cautiously. This was definitely the longest road he had ever walked in his life.

Finally, we reached the turning point, and it seemed that nothing much had happened.

He finally breathed a sigh of relief and grinned, "Ambassador Koizumi, you see, it's safe!"

Koizumi Mami turned to Sato Saya and said, "Master Sato, it seems that this mechanism was either broken or destroyed by your grandfather and ancestors back then, so there shouldn't be any danger!"

Sato Saya nodded, agreeing that it was very likely what Koizumi Mami said.

However, he did not dare to be careless and sent several Japanese guards to escort him first.

Seeing that Kameda was unharmed, the Japanese guards boldly went over to him.

Unexpectedly, just as they reached the turning point, a Japanese man seemed to have stepped on a loose stone brick.

Click click click!

Suddenly, the sound of a mechanism turning came from inside.

Sato's expression changed drastically: "Oh no! Get down on your hands and knees!"

By the time it was shouted out, it was too late!

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a dense rain of arrows shot out from the surrounding walls!

Ahhh!

Screams rose and fell, and Shinichi Kameda was so frightened that he squatted down and screamed, covering his head.

After a while, the rain of arrows gradually stopped.

At this moment, most of the guards had already fallen to the ground, some wounded by arrows, others directly in the Gobi Desert.

The man who was shot turned ashen-faced and collapsed shortly afterward, dying instantly.

Sato Saki rushed over and took a look, her face grim. "This arrow is highly poisoned!" she exclaimed.

"Baka!"

Koizumi Mami was furious, her face turning ashen. She hadn't even entered the tomb yet, and her team had almost been wiped out—the losses were too great.

At this moment, only two guards remained unharmed.

Koizumi Mami glanced at him and saw that Kameda was still lying on the ground with his head in his hands. She was furious. This kid is too lucky. He hasn't even been to the Gobi Desert yet.

"Get up! Lead the way!"

There was no other way; poor Shinichi Kameda was once again pushed to the forefront to continue exploring the path.

However, the rest of the journey was peaceful, and the group soon arrived at a dark tomb.

All around the walls were perpetually lit lamps, and a damp, earthy smell wafted through the air.

However, instead of the expected coffin, there was a round well in the tomb chamber. It was a dry well and rather shallow.

Around the dry well, there are nine stone dragons, each corresponding to one of the nine toads below.

Each dragon holds a pearl in its mouth.

Sato Saya's eyes lit up, and she rushed forward. "Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl! Haha, this is Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl! We really found it!"

Koizumi Mami quickly stepped forward and asked Sato Saya, "Master Sato, what is 'Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl'?"

Sato Sawa quickly explained, "This is a kind of Lu Ban mechanical art. These nine dragons are like seismographs. Once an earthquake occurs, the dragon pearls in the corresponding directions will fall off and into the toad's mouth! I have to say, the wisdom of the ancient Xia people is truly unfathomable. They were able to develop such sophisticated instruments thousands of years ago!"

Koizumi Mami couldn't help but ask, "Then what does this 'Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl' have to do with the Nine Dragon Jade?"

Sato Saki glanced at her and said with a smile, "The Nine Dragon Jade is right here in this dry well. Just wait and see!"
