Chapter 58

Chapter 58

Tang An was traveling through the tunnel of time and space, his thoughts in a mess.

The last brutal sword strike by Shen Qi is still vivid in his mind. The opponent must have regarded Su He, who occupied Gu An's body, as an invader. I wonder if Shen Qi noticed anything unusual at the moment before the sword touched him?

Perhaps his worries were too intense, and this time tunnel seemed to extend longer than before, giving him more opportunities to stop.

First stop: a sincere heart.

The light and shadow flowed, and Tang An crashed into a piece of gleaming debris.

The familiar furnishings of the immortal palace appeared before his eyes, but the atmosphere was tense.

Chen Qi had his back to him, his shoulders tense, while Gu An was about to leave in anger. The air was filled with the coldness and stalemate of their different ideas.

Just as Gu An was about to step out of the palace, Tang An had an idea and reached out to touch the barrier of time and space that reflected this scene.

The next second, he was pulled in by a force.

Tang An, who had taken control of his body, abruptly stopped and left.

He turned around and looked at the man whose face turned pale with anger.

Seeing him come back, Shen Qi snorted coldly, "Why are you back? I don't have the magic medicine you want. We can't work together if we don't share the same ideals."

Tang An controlled Gu An's body, took a step forward, and stared directly into the other's eyes, which were brighter because of anger.

"I came back just to tell you something." He said calmly.

Shen Qi's golden vertical pupils shrank slightly, and he instinctively had a bad premonition.

Gu An's lips curled up in a very faint but clear arc, and every word he spoke was resounding.

"It's nothing, actually. I just wanted to tell you that I've admired you for a long time. My pursuit of immortality and longevity is just to be with you forever."

Shen Qi: “………………”

The whole world seemed to be silent in an instant.

The cold expression on Shen Qi's face completely shattered, leaving only complete shock and disbelief, and his ears turned slightly red at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Seeing that the chaos had been escalated, Tang An turned around decisively and left without any fame or achievements, leaving behind Gu An, who had watched him being possessed by a demon and spoke his true feelings, blushing and at a loss, enduring the baptism of Shen Qi's complicated and somewhat panicked gaze.

Second stop: Ordinary choice

The tunnel flows again.

This time, Tang An fell into a dim, dilapidated hut that emitted an indescribable smell.

He looked down and saw a pair of thin and dirty children's hands.

This is Su Chengyue's body.

Beside him were the bodies of his parents, which had already turned cold and begun to smell bad.

Tang An sighed, controlled his small body, closed the worn door with great effort, and bowed solemnly three times towards the room.

"The hatred and resentment you two hold is too deep, the karmic consequences too profound, and it's too much for my current small body to bear." He spoke in a childish yet unusually calm voice, "I believe that your spirits in heaven would not wish to see me lead a life blinded by hatred, a life distorted and painful."

"So, I, Su Chengyue, have decided to find a reliable person to help me bury the two elders properly. Then I will go to the city and learn a skill to make a living. From now on, I will live an ordinary life, not fighting, not competing, not greedy, and strive to be a good citizen who is useful to society."

After saying this, he turned around without any reluctance, and left this place full of tragedy with his short legs.

Around dusk, several strong middle-aged men came and helped Su Chengyue deal with the funeral. Then Tang An sent the man to the blacksmith uncle before leaving.

Young Su Chengyue thought she was possessed by a ghost: "..."

Suddenly I felt that my future, which might have been magnificent and bright, seemed to have become particularly plain and simple.

The third stop: Irreversible regret

The light in the tunnel flickered again, and Tang An clearly remembered the day when Tang Ming died.

With a loud bang.

Tang An almost broke open the back door of the classroom. In the astonished eyes of the teachers and classmates, he rushed out like a gust of wind and ran towards Tang Ming's high school.

Faster, faster, if the past can really be changed...

Tang Ming's school is not far from Tang An's junior high school.

Ten minutes later, he appeared at the high school entrance, panting, still wearing his junior high school uniform.

"I'm the younger brother of Tang Ming from Class 3 (7) of Senior High School. I need to find my brother for something urgent." He shouted anxiously to the security guard. There was a desperate madness and deep fear on the young man's face.

The security guard called to confirm with some doubt, and the head teacher of Class 7 found Tang Ming who was quietly taking a small test in class.

"Tang Ming, your brother is here and he wants to see you urgently."

"Tang An??"

Tang Ming was stunned. He put down his pen and walked out of the classroom quickly. Sure enough, he saw his younger brother standing in the corridor on the first floor, sweating profusely and with red eyes.

"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be in class at this hour? What's going on..."

Before he could finish his words, Tang An hugged him tightly.

His younger brother, who was a head shorter than him, buried his face deeply in his chest, his body trembling slightly, his voice choked and unclear: "Brother, I miss you so much, I really miss you so much..."

Tang Ming was stunned, and then he felt the school uniform on his chest quickly being soaked by warm liquid.

His heart softened, and he raised his hand to rub the back of his brother's head, his tone slowing down: "What's wrong? Why are you so cheesy all of a sudden? Did you get into some big trouble? Or did Mom catch you in some trouble?"

Tang An raised her head, tears welling in her eyes: "Why didn't you tell me you were sick? Why did you have to bear it all by yourself?!"

Tang Ming looked bewildered: "What? What's wrong? I'm fine, don't curse me."

"Depression!!!" Tang An said anxiously, "You're mentally ill! You're feeling miserable! That's why you can't think straight, right?!"

Tang Ming was silent for a few seconds, his brows furrowed. "Where did you hear all this nonsense?"

"Don't worry about it! Anyway, don't go to school today! Come home with me! Rest! I will support you!" Tang An grabbed his brother's arm and spoke incoherently.

Tang Ming was amused by him. He reluctantly pried his hand apart and even jokingly raised his middle finger: "Tang An, even if I have to die, I have to sacrifice it in a glorious way to eliminate harm for the people, okay? I really don't have time to play with you now. It's okay for you to curse me, but you even dare to question my love and belief in life..."

"You're lying!" Tang An looked at his brother's back as he turned to leave, "You're lying..."

He wanted to stubbornly stay in this memory until he made sure Tang Ming was safe during that time.

Tang An naively thought that as long as he missed the time of death, everything could be saved.

However, when the parents who had rushed over after receiving the notification from the class teacher appeared at the school gate, he looked at the pure worry and confusion on their faces.

Tang An suddenly realized that he had overlooked a terrible fact.

In his original time and space, Tang Ming had indeed left forever.

But in this parallel fragment of time and space that he accidentally entered, Tang Ming might not have suffered from depression at all. He was lively and cheerful, with a completely different destiny.

A huge sense of absurdity and loss instantly gripped Tang An.

He felt sincerely happy that Tang Ming was still alive in this time and space, and even had a greedy desire to see what his brother would look like when he grew up and entered society.

But when I think of my brother who will never come back from that time and space, the pain like a knife cutting my heart spreads again.

The past cannot be truly changed, what is gone will eventually become regret, and the only thing we can grasp is the present.

With this profound realization of sadness and relief, Tang An's mentality became much calmer.

Stop 4: Advice for young lovers

The tunnel brought Tang An to the next familiar location.

In the high school gymnasium, the air smells of dust and sunlight.

Chi Ying, who was about eighteen or nineteen years old, was blocking him next to the mat. He was beaming with joy and smugness, like a peacock with its tail spread out. He said with a firm face, "Tang An, you just like me. Don't deny it."

Back then, I seemed so embarrassed and angry that I couldn't speak.

At this moment, Tang An, who was in control of the body, just quietly stared at the childish face in front of him that was full of youthful arrogance.

Because his gaze was too direct and focused, Chi Yingxian, who was originally in a fierce mood, felt uncomfortable.

The other party touched his nose, coughed dryly, his eyes began to wander, and the tips of his fair ears quickly turned bright red: "Since you like me so much, it's not impossible for me to... give you a chance..."

"Chi Ying." Tang An finally spoke, his voice steady and composed, which was inconsistent with his age.

"Hmm?" Chi Ying responded subconsciously, his heart beating like a drum.

"I have a suggestion," Tang An said with a stern air. "Give you valuable advice from Tang An in the future."

Chi Ying looked confused.

Tang An said to himself:

"First, control your bad temper and stop calling your uncle and second uncle 'fuck you' all the time. Be more civilized."

"Second, remember to wear a condom every time you fuck me. I really, really hate it when you always come inside and then take the opportunity to do it again."

"Third, be more generous, more rational, and trust me a little more. I know you like me to death, and because I like you to death, I will not cheat on you, I will not hook up with other men, and I will definitely not despise you for your poor skills and heavy addiction."

He finished speaking in one breath, his expression and heart rate remained unchanged.

Chi Ying, who was still a pure virgin, was completely dumbfounded. His mouth was open and his brain seemed to have been struck by lightning, and everything went blank.

Tang An reached out, patted his stiff shoulder, and added one last point: "As for posture, considering my old arms and legs in the future, don't always do those difficult yoga moves. Be more practical."

After saying this, he withdrew, handing control of his body back to his 19-year-old self who was completely petrified and filled with shame and anger.

Young Tang An came to his senses and met Chi Ying's eyes, which were so shocked that his soul was leaving his body. His face turned red instantly and he wished he could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.

He swallowed hard, trying to salvage his reputation.

"Well, if I said I was possessed by a ghost, would you believe me?"

Chi Ying stared at him blankly for a while, then nodded very slowly and squeezed out two words from his throat.

“…I believe it.”
