A quarter of an hour later, Yilan Garden.
Chu Qingniang was reading a book while Zhixia was making tea beside her.
At this moment, Gu Yanran's affected voice suddenly came from outside the courtyard gate:
"Sister, Yanran has come to apologize."
Chu Qingniang turned a deaf ear and continued reading.
Instead, Zhixia put down the teapot in her hand and stood up first to greet them.
"What is Miss Gu doing here again? Are you here to deliver stolen goods again?"
Gu Yanran's face froze, but she quickly thought of Qi Che's words and had to force a smile.
"Miss Zhixia, you are joking. It was the servants who were ignorant and offended you before. Now they have been arrested and thrown into the county jail. When they come back, I will punish them severely. I hope Miss Zhixia will forgive me and not make a fuss with Madam Li."
Zhixia sneered, "Oh? That cunning slave is so bold, isn't it because of you, the master, who instructed you to do so?"
Such a straightforward response made Gu Yanran's face freeze on the spot, and she was completely unable to save face.
Damn it!
If her husband hadn't ordered her to do so, why would she have come here and been bullied by a lowly maid?
Gu Yanran was so angry that her chest was heaving. She stared at Zhixia with eyes spitting fire, as if she wanted to scrape a layer of skin off her body.
Zhixia crossed her arms and smiled: "What's that look in your eyes? Are you angry because I said it right?"
"Ha! Let me guess." Zhixia walked down the stairs with interest and walked around Gu Yanran.
"You must not be willing to come here at this time, and the only person in this mansion who can make such a sacrifice is the unfaithful Qi Che."
"Tsk, love really can make people stupid. Gu Yanran, let me give you a piece of advice. It's best to stay away from Qi Che, that unfaithful man. Don't let him sell you out and still help count the silver."
Gu Yanran could hardly maintain the fake smile on her face and squeezed out a few words from between her teeth.
"Miss Zhixia, please don't worry about my affairs."
"If your young lady wants to stay alive, she should find a way to leave the Qi Mansion as soon as possible."
When he heard this, his face looked a little strange.
"What's the meaning?"
Looking at the entire Da Chu, apart from Qi Che, who else would be so blind as to dare to bring bad luck to her young lady?
"It means literally." She looked past Zhixia and looked at Chu Qingniang in the room: "Sister, do you know that a big event happened in the court recently?"
"It is said that the princess who disappeared three years ago is not actually dead. Instead, she is hiding her identity in the neighboring Qingshui County to observe the people's sentiments."
This was also the court's statement to the outside world, saying that the legitimate princess was on a secret visit to understand the people's sentiments.
Inside the house, Chu Qingniang finally raised her eyes slowly, and looked directly at Gu Yanran with eyes as calm as water.
"What do you want to say?"
Gu Yanran smiled brightly: "Sister, why do you have to ask when you already know the answer? What did your deceased father do before..."
"Yanran!"
Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted by a voice behind him.
It was Qi Che who came over.
He had changed into a crescent-shaped white brocade robe, with his hair tied up with a jade belt. His whole body exuded a gentle warmth like the breeze and the bright moon.
"I'll explain this to Qingniang, you go back first."
Qi Che spoke to Gu Yanran, but his eyes were fixed in the direction of the house.
Gu Yanran's eyes darkened, then she nodded meekly, turned and left.
Qi Che wanted to go into the house, but he saw Zhixia blocking the way like a door god, with his arms folded, blocking the door.
Zhixia narrowed her eyes and examined Qi Che, "What did she want to say just now? Why didn't you let her finish her words?"
In fact, there is no need to guess, Zhixia also understands what is going on.
Because of the news that Mr. Chu had offended the legitimate princess, it was the young lady who asked her to release it in order to put Qi Che in danger.
Now the bait has been dropped, come and take the bait if you are willing.
Qi Che's eyes darkened for a moment. "It's just a rumor heard from others. It's unconfirmed. There's no need to bring it up. It will only cause trouble."
"Oh? Really?" Zhixia obviously didn't believe it.
Qi Che sighed, "Zhixia, I know you are eager to protect your master, but tonight, I just want to say goodbye to Qingniang. Can you..."
"No! Who knows what evil ideas you have in mind? First you sent people to guard us, and then you cut off the food in the yard. Qi Che, you are a low-ranking official, but you are thinking of covering up everything. Do you really think that no one can see the dirty thoughts in your heart?"
Qi Che's face changed when Zhi Xia scolded him.
Just when he was about to explode, he suddenly remembered something and reluctantly lowered his eyes to hide the calculation in his eyes.
When he looked up again, his voice had become slightly hoarse.
"I've been thinking a lot these days... Since Qingniang is determined to divorce, I... am willing to let go."
After saying this, he took out a divorce letter from his sleeve and said to Zhixia:
"I have already prepared the paperwork, and all I need is a signature. But before that, I want to have a final chat with her."
Zhixia narrowed her eyes. She was not happy at all about Qi Che's retreat. Instead, she felt endless ridicule.
The lady was right. This scumbag Qi was fooled.
As soon as she heard about Mr. Chu's affairs, she was afraid that she would be implicated, so she sent a letter of divorce right after that, and even put on an act of deep love but having to let go.
Zhixia was so disgusted that she almost vomited the leftover food.
"Qingniang and I are husband and wife. Are you going to stop us from meeting each other for the last time?" Qi Che's tone sounded somewhat dissatisfied.
Zhixia glanced into the room and saw that the young lady was still reading, so she moved away.
"A quarter of an hour."
Inside the house, Chu Qingniang sat at the desk, holding a book in her hands. In the light of the candlelight, she looked cool and beautiful, like a moon fairy who had strayed into the human world.
