In an instant, blood gushed out and flowed along the tip of the knife into the medicine bowl below. The dark medicine juice met the blood and quickly merged in the bowl, finally gradually turning dark black.
"Empress!" A Ruo was heartbroken and suddenly at a loss as to what to do.
Concubine Jiang forced herself to stand up, picked up the bowl of medicine, and carefully fed it to the King of Chu.
A Ruo knelt beside him, tears streaming down her face, not daring to make a sound to disturb him.
Finally, seeing that the bowl of medicine was almost empty, but the poisonous insect in the Emperor Chu's body showed no sign of coming out, Concubine Jiang put down the bowl, gritted her teeth, raised the knife again, and stabbed it towards the heart again.
"My queen, you can't bleed anymore. If you continue, you will die!" A Ruo tried to step forward to stop her.
Jiangpin's forehead was covered in cold sweat, but she still clenched her teeth when she heard this.
"We can't let this be ruined at the last step, huh..."
"Once the insect has drunk enough blood, it will naturally crawl out. Just wait a little longer...it will be over soon..."
The tip of the knife pierced his chest, deeper than last time.
Concubine Jiang's vision went dark, her body swayed, and she almost fell to the ground.
"My Queen...that's enough, it's really enough!" A Ruo burst into tears.
Concubine Jiang pulled out the dagger with trembling hands, and blood gushed out. She hurriedly pressed the wound with her other hand and dripped the gushing blood into the medicine.
There was very little medicinal juice left at the bottom of the bowl, and now it was dyed even thicker by the fresh blood, emitting a strange fishy and sweet taste.
When the King of Chu drank the last of the medicine, he suddenly bent his body and a mouthful of black blood spurted out instantly.
In the black blood, one could suddenly see a golden poisonous insect as thin as a hair, twisting its body madly.
"It's done..."
Concubine Jiang gave a weak smile and suddenly collapsed to the ground.
A Ruo rushed over and tried to steady her sliding body, and her touch felt warm and sticky.
“My Queen!!”
The noise in the room soon alarmed the imperial physician at the door.
When Chu Qingluan and the imperial doctors arrived, they saw A Ruo supporting Concubine Jiang lying on the floor, her plain white dress stained with blood.
Chu Qingluan's heart sank.
She never imagined that Concubine Jiang's so-called method would involve sacrificing herself.
"Imperial Physician! Quick! Check on Concubine Jiang."
The imperial physician behind her quickly stepped forward and hurriedly helped Concubine Jiang stop the bleeding and treat the wound.
However, due to excessive blood loss, she had fallen into a coma. Helplessly, the imperial doctors had to give her ginseng soup to keep her alive while thinking of other ways.
"No matter what, Concubine Jiang must be cured." Chu Qingluan ordered in a low voice.
The imperial doctors did not dare to delay and hurriedly gave her acupuncture and changed her dressings.
Chu Qingluan stood aside, feeling mixed emotions.
At this moment, Emperor Chu on the dragon bed let out a faint groan and moved his fingers.
"Your Majesty has woken up!" An imperial physician quickly noticed the movement and exclaimed in surprise.
Chu Qingluan's attention was quickly drawn over and she quickly walked to the couch.
Chen Yuanpan also stopped what he was doing and hurried forward to take the pulse of the King of Chu.
After a moment, a look of surprise appeared on his face. "Your Highness, His Majesty's pulse has stabilized and his breathing is much smoother. He is gradually getting better!"
Hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, with relieved smiles on their faces.
After a moment, Emperor Chu slowly opened his eyes, and his vision gradually became clear from the confusion.
He frowned slightly, as if recalling what happened before he fell into a coma, and finally his gaze fell on Chu Qingluan in front of the bed.
"Zhaoyang..." His voice was a little hoarse, but he had regained his usual composure.
Chu Qingluan hurriedly held his hand and said with concern, "Father, you are finally awake! You suddenly fainted at the banquet earlier, and I was terrified."
Seeing Emperor Chu wake up, Chu Qingluan's heart was filled with emotion and her eyes became moist.
Emperor Chu nodded, as if recalling something. It took him a long time to come back to his senses: "Now... I feel much better."
He didn't expect that he would pass out, as if he had had a very long dream.
After taking your pulse again, the imperial physician confirmed, "Your Majesty, the evil spirits in your body have been eliminated. As long as you recuperate well, you will be fully recovered in a few days. However, you must eat a light diet, avoid alcohol, and avoid excessive overwork. You must rest and recuperate."
Although Emperor Chu was somewhat puzzled, he nodded slightly.
Afterwards, after the imperial doctors left, Emperor Chu left Chu Qingluan behind, leaving only the father and daughter in the palace.
Emperor Chu struggled to get up. Chu Qingluan supported him and placed a pillow behind him.
"Father, you just woke up. You should listen to the doctor's advice, get some rest, and take your medicine."
Emperor Chu looked at his daughter's face with his eyes. Seeing some faint blue shadows under her eyes, he knew that she must have not slept well for several days.
"Zhaoyang, thank you for your hard work these past few days."
"This son is not tired. As long as Father can get better, no matter what this son does, it will be worth it. Besides..."
She paused, then continued, "The fact that Father was able to wake up so quickly this time is all thanks to Concubine Jiang."
Emperor Chu was stunned. "Is it her?"
Chu Qingluan nodded and told Emperor Chu everything that had happened in the past few days.
"I believe there must be something fishy about Wu Ya in the palace. Now that my father has woken up, I have nothing to worry about. I have just ordered Zhi Xia to capture her. She should be on trial right now."
Chu Qingluan guessed that Wu Ya might not be the mastermind, but she was also an insider and executor. Since she dared to put a curse on her father, she deserved to be tortured to death.
Emperor Chu nodded slightly. "Never mind. You can handle these matters as you wish. I only have one request: you must protect yourself at all times. Do you understand?"
