Chapter 78
Pei Huai's expression rarely turned serious: "What if I refuse?"
"I'll stop you." As if to confirm his words, two mountain bikes swooped down the slope of the riverbank onto the road, blocking the way on both sides. Their piercing high beams kept pace with them. In the blink of an eye, several more bikes sprinted down the mountain road from both sides, kicking up a cloud of dust. In the rearview mirror, a Bentley barreled towards the rear of the car at a terrifying speed.
"Shan Li, you two are brothers."
"It's because of the brother you broke up with, Mr. Pei." The voice on the other end gently corrected, "Hold on to the handrails, and be careful not to bite your tongue." Then the communication was severed, and the pitch-black Bentley began to approach at full speed.
"Oh my god! Someone is even persecuting his own brother! Where is justice and where is the law?" Xiang Mingqi stepped on the accelerator and screamed, "If you speed up any more, my wheels will fly off! Help!"
"Drive steadily." Pei Huai picked up Zhuangzhuang with one arm, held the top handle with his right hand and lifted his lower waist.
Just as the motorcycles on both sides squeezed the driving space inward, and Xiang Mingqi gritted his teeth and rushed forward, about five meters ahead, under the bridge pier, in a blind spot, an SUV appeared parked sideways. The length of the vehicle was so astonishing that the gap between the front and the rear was so small that it was impossible to cut in. Xiang Mingqi subconsciously hit the brakes.
"Tread a little bit at a time. Don't worry about a collision, I'll calculate it." Pei Huai called him and used his shoulder to protect the panicked Zhuang Zhuang. The cat's pupils dilated in fear, and its front paws dug into Pei Huai's neck, its ears folded back.
The car's speed gradually slowed. Amidst the engine's whimpering, the motorcyclist approached the car window, parallel to the vehicle. Pei Huai seized the opportunity to grab the steering wheel and swerve, sending the vehicle crashing headfirst into the outboard motorcycle and into the riverbank below.
Xiang Mingqi pressed the clutch in unison. The tires were suspended in the air, and the weight of the front of the car helped it crash down the slope, crashing out of control.
"Go find them." After the pursuit vehicle slammed to a stop, Shan Li slammed the door, staring anxiously at the flickering taillights. He instructed Cink to lead a team down to investigate. A man got out of the first seat of the SUV, squatted down in front of the tire tracks, and laughed. Shan Li gave him a cold glance, asking what was so funny.
The man took off his goggles, revealing a typical mixed-race face. Isaac shrugged in front of everyone, "I think you're making a fuss out of nothing."
"What do you mean."
"It means, watch your back."
Almost caught off guard, a pair of arms formed a cross from behind, quickly gripping his throat. He could smell the pleasant scent of soap. As they drew closer, they breathed in bursts of air. He guessed that Pei Huai had carried Xiang Mingqi out of the car a second before it lost control, jumped out the window to hide, and finally, taking advantage of the distraction of the main force, launched the attack.
"Give me the keys. To the motorcycle."
His hand reached for the brass buckle of his belt, searching along the edge. Several times, he mistakenly touched his lower abdomen. Shan Li felt a burning, dry, intense sensation down there, his muscles as hard as stone.
He grabbed the bony and thin hand, his throat moving: "He's not worth it."
Pei Huai didn't answer. He waved his hand away, continuing to move it down the man's waist. Shan Li's throat tightened, and the area he touched felt like an electric current. He grasped Pei Huai's wrist bone and pressed the bulging vein on the back of his hand.
"Choosing him won't do you any good, Mr. Pei. What he can give is only a small part of what I am willing to do for you. You can ask for anything. Even if you want to keep my brother like a dog and let him live, that's fine too."
"Not interested." He hooked his index finger into his side pocket and picked out a bunch of keys, "But I need your help." After saying that, he grabbed Shan Li's belt and dragged him closer to him, glaring at Eric who was smiling beside him.
He grabbed Shan Li's neck with his right arm, threw the keys in his hand, and led him onto the Highlander. Xiang Mingqi suddenly appeared out of nowhere, but he picked up Zhuang Zhuang and slid swiftly onto the back seat, freeing an arm to wrap around Pei Huai's waist.
The two brothers, one in front and one behind, sandwiched Pei Huai in the middle. After they sat down, Xiang Mingqi smiled at Shan Li, who had a complicated expression.
"How does it feel to be a dog when no one wants you, cousin?"
Pei Huai pedaled, donned his helmet, and with his left hand twisted the handlebars to the front brake position. He fastened his goggles, pressed the gearshift, and simultaneously throttled at a steady pace. With a swift turn, the bike, carrying the two brothers, sped off into the distance, sending up a cloud of dust.
Xiang Mingqi hugged his waist, holding Zhuangzhuang, who squinted his eyes and looked dissatisfied, in his elbow. He pressed his left cheek against Pei Huai's back and said, "Brother, if you want to take a hostage, just take one. Why did you take the most difficult one? Look, he's still glaring at me. Quick, kick him off!"
"Don't move."
He took advantage of the situation and was about to push Shan Li: "Don't worry, I won't let you fall off the bike."
"That's not what I'm talking about."
Confused, Xiang Mingqi glanced down at his waist, realizing the unusually intimate position the three of them were in. The saddle wasn't large, so to stabilize their bodies, their limbs had to be close together. Pei Huai shuffled back, barely avoiding contact with Shan Li's hips. This forced his tense lower back to rest against Xiang Mingqi's lower abdominal muscles, causing the fabric of his clothes to rub against them in an ambiguous way.
He was itching to do it, so he bit Pei Huai's neck. He put his arm around his waist and stared at Shan Li without blinking.
"Don't stare at my people." He warned in a low voice, "No matter what, I am still your brother."
Pei Huai chose the longer route down the mountain. Their trip to the Coal Valley was temporarily postponed; he decided to shake off his pursuers first before discussing other matters. At one in the morning, his mountain bike turned into the garage of a guesthouse nestled along a narrow path and decided to rest. The owner, smoking a cigarette behind the counter, casually asked, "What's the relationship between you three?"
"Brother." Xiang Mingqi pointed at Shan Li, then at himself, and then at Pei Huai. "Apply wheat externally."
"What foreign language are you speaking? I don't understand. What are you saying? Which of these two will share a room with you, or should we get a triple bed room tonight?" The boss fiddled with his keychain and squinted at Pei Huai for a long time before assigning the rooms. He lowered his voice and asked, "You're really amazing. An older brother and a younger brother, both of them can't take their eyes off you for a second. What are you hesitating about? Do you think it's hard to give up on either man because they each have their own strengths?"
Pei Huai's back stiffened and he began to look at his feet helplessly.
"That's not it over there."
"Okay, I don't know who you're referring to. But we have to keep a roster here, and if the heads don't match and the township finds out, there will be a penalty. You can't point at your brother and then go to your brother's room in the middle of the night when you're tired of it."
"Stop talking." He coughed lightly and turned away his eyes, pointing at Xiang Mingqi. "He's in the same room with me."
The room was on the third floor, just up two steep and narrow flights of stairs. Pei Huai followed the boss silently, but was stopped halfway by Shan Li.
"What are you going to do?" he asked.
Xiang Mingqi rolled his eyes and imitated his low tone, saying, "I've steamed it, boiled it, fried it, and pan-fried it, is that enough? Why are you asking so many questions when you're about to die?"
"You and your people won't give up." Pei Huai ignored someone and answered him without reservation, "I'll let you go once I'm sure it's safe."
"Then the peace you gain will be temporary."
Pei Huai stopped and turned to look at him: "Why do you want to kill him, Shan Li? I rejected you and made it very clear."
"Don't be so absolute, Mr. Pei." He raised his chin, his eyes calm and unflinching. "You rejected him before."
"You're different."
Shan Li raised his eyelids and looked at him: "I am his elder brother and the person in charge of Jingshan Real Estate. What I can do for you now is worth far more than his entire life."
"Is it important?"
"When you need something, money and power are always important."
"Shan Li." He stood on the steps, gazing at me intently, and said in a nonchalant tone, "You are correct. But regarding Yu Mingrui's case, your crimes are different."
His silent eyes had a power that could take one back more than a decade, to that dark, damp mountainside that was about to rot in the rain. The thunderstorm returned, and the dark clouds made it impossible for them to distinguish between day and night. The young child was crying, saying he wanted to go home.
When Shan Li mustered the courage to peek out from under the plastic tarp, all he saw was blood-stained black rain boots constantly moving around the camp, disappearing and reappearing. They covered their mouths tightly, not daring to make a sound.
until.
Until hunger, until they could no longer bear the bites, until the veil in front of their eyes was ripped away. By then, he and the other children were already too weak to move, and had no choice but to close their eyes and wait for death. But in a trance, he saw the figure of the young man clearly.
He saw the newcomer half-crouching in the backlight in front of him, his eyelashes wet, his knees and calves covered in mud and scratches, but his dark eyes illuminated his face like a lantern.
"It's so good to be here." He didn't recognize himself, didn't recognize anyone here, but he was so surprised, as if he had found a lost treasure. The boy raised his arms and hugged him, his breath tinged with tears. "You're all here. Everything's okay. It's so good. I can finally, finally take you home."
At this moment, he thought, if there is anyone in the world who is powerful and fearless, it should be the person in front of him.
-
Returning to the room, Xiang Mingqi slammed the door in anger. Before Pei Huai even stepped inside, he rushed forward and put his arms around his waist. He sniffed at his neck with the tip of his nose, then smiled and threw his senior onto the sofa.
"What are you doing?" Pei Huai slapped him on the forehead.
"Then why did you hit me?" He was the first to complain.
Pei Huai didn't bother to pay attention to his chattering mouth and stood up from the sofa. Seeing this, the boy behind him shamelessly tried to hug his waist. He reached over him, picked up the TV remote on the coffee table, pressed it, and said he wanted to watch the show with him.
The animated film wasn't the point; Pei Huai couldn't get it into his head anyway. The important thing was that Xiang Mingqi, watching, slipped his hands under his clothes, gripping his shoulders and chest muscles and kneading them. Pei Huai's cheeks flushed slightly as he dodged, and he nudged his chest with his elbow.
"Don't touch it."
Xiang Mingqi swallowed his saliva, his thoughts shifting to other matters. After rubbing his chest to his heart's content, he touched his sensitive waist, feeling the tension as his muscles stretched. "Brother, you're so stiff. Have your muscles been tense and stiff lately? Let me give you a massage. Free, professional, and I won't bully you with my porn glasses."
"Who will give me a massage..." Unfortunately, Pei Huai couldn't say anything too embarrassing.
Her hands went up again, squeezing his full and firm chest muscles until they were deformed. After she had tasted it enough, she pinched his waist and massaged it seriously. Pei Huai bit his lower lip in embarrassment, his eyelids tightly closed. Xiang Mingqi asked him in his ear, his tone full of teasing: "Brother, do you like being pressed here?"
He didn't want to answer.
Knowing that he was very shy and couldn't stand being teased again and again, Xiang Mingqi restrained himself a little, caressing his masculine body while kissing his Adam's apple.
"What should I do? You have such a great figure. You look so delicious." He licked his lips reluctantly and poked his waist. "Anyway, the one downstairs and the one next door know what our relationship is. Brother, can we have sex today?"
