But the research institute in the army seemed to be isolated from the world. Du Peng asked Li Xin to set it up and let Xiao Du get breakfast from the cafeteria. They just had to wait to eat in the research institute.
Everyone in the institute stays at home like this, so naturally they can't hear the gossip outside.
"Xiao Li, where are the data you collected yesterday?" Du Peng asked Li Xin while eating buns.
When Du Peng didn't come back at the end of the get off work day yesterday, Li Xin temporarily put the small notebook recording data into the laboratory.
"I'll get it." Li Xin immediately went to the laboratory to get it.
Du Peng watched her coming over and shared one of the buns that Xiao Du had brought back with her.
"No, I've already had breakfast." Li Xin shook her head. Sanmao had made her three-fresh noodles in the morning, and she was very full now.
"He Beichen is not at home, and you can't cook, so why do you want to eat at home? There is food ready in the cafeteria." Du Peng looked at her puzzledly and thought Li Xin was quite strange.
"Well... we have some dumplings at home that I made with He Beichen before. They won't last long. If we don't eat them, they will go bad. What a shame." Li Xin explained with a turn of his eyes.
"Okay." Du Peng swallowed the rest of the bun in one gulp, wiped his hands, and then began to look at the data that Li Xin had just handed over.
"The data deviations for these guns of the same type are very large." Du Peng scanned the data and quickly found the problem.
Li Xin nodded. She had already discovered these problems when she was taking notes yesterday.
"Some guns are severely aged. If left unattended, accidents could easily occur, injuring soldiers," Li Xin suggested. "I think these old guns should be recycled as soon as possible. Even if soldiers aren't used to using newer guns, they should be overhauled and their aging parts replaced."
"Yeah." Du Peng nodded, agreeing with her suggestion.
He had this idea before, but he was always busy and had put it aside.
"If we researchers don't mention it, the soldiers will only come to us when there's a problem with their guns." Du Peng couldn't help but sigh. "You know a lot about these old guns. I'll leave the recycling to you. Is that okay?"
"Okay." Li Xin had no objection to this.
She was more concerned about the new gun: "Are you going to the machine factory today? How's the spare part you made yesterday?"
"I think it's not refined enough. I'll ask them to try again. I'll go back tomorrow to continue supervising."
