Comparatively speaking, Li Xin seemed much calmer and more peaceful.
He Beichen didn't come back for dinner that night, so Sanmao made a meatball and mushroom soup with fresh mushrooms and meat. She specially packed out a large portion and saved it for He Beichen to drink when he came back.
Then let Sanmao make some wontons in the space. If He Beichen didn’t have dinner, he could cook some wontons in it to fill his stomach.
Li Xin cleaned up before taking a shower. After showering, she lay on the sofa, reading the newspaper while waiting for He Beichen to come back.
It was almost ten o'clock when He Beichen finally came back. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Li Xin waiting for him under the light, and his heart softened all of a sudden.
"Are you back? Have you had dinner? There's mushroom soup in the kitchen." Li Xin heard the door open and turned around to look over.
Her hair was loose, her eyes were filled with concern, and she looked very gentle.
"I'll do it myself." Seeing Li Xin standing up and about to go to the kitchen, He Beichen quickly stopped her.
Although He Beichen did it himself, Li Xin still followed him to the kitchen.
"The mountain has been closed today. Will mine clearance work begin soon?" Li Xin asked, standing at the kitchen door.
"Yeah." He Beichen nodded. The reason why he came back so late today was to prepare for tomorrow's mine clearance.
He originally wanted to go into the mountains in the afternoon, but was stopped by his superiors and told to make all the necessary preparations before going.
"I will take a few people up the mountain tomorrow and may come back late. Don't wait for me." He Beichen thought for a while and spoke.
He himself was not sure how long he would search, but he would definitely keep searching until he found it.
"Okay... then you better be careful and don't let anything happen to you." Li Xin looked at him and spoke with a worried look.
