Chapter 225 Past Life Chapter

"You killed her?!"

Upon learning of Qin Su's whereabouts at the border, Yu Shuo rushed back, heading straight to the Duke of Cheng's mansion upon returning to the capital. Xue Huai'an was no longer the man he could be bullied at will; he now controlled nearly half of the power in the court.

Xue Huai'an shook his head, "Your Highness Prince Chen, how could I kill my wife? She died of illness."

He remained the same elegant and refined young nobleman, while Yu Shuo, having spent most of his time on the border, appeared somewhat unkempt.

"If you had taken good care of her, how could she have died?!" Yu Shuo grabbed Xue Huai'an's collar fiercely, his hawk-like eyes fixed on him.

Xue Huai'an grabbed Yu Shuo's wrist, trying to pull him away, but the man was too strong; Xue Huai'an didn't have the strength.

"On what grounds does Your Highness question me? My ex-wife has absolutely no relation to you."

The disdain in his eyes stung Yu Shuo's heart. He punched Xue Huai'an in the face and demanded, "Where is her grave?"

"This has nothing to do with His Highness Prince Chen." Xue Huai'an bumped into the antique shelf next to him. If the shelf hadn't been sturdy, he probably would have fallen to the ground.

This man is as barbaric as ever!

Even though he had already gained control of most of the court's power, he still didn't take me seriously.

"My wife has nothing to do with you!"

With a clang, Yu Shuo drew his sword and held it directly against Xue Huai'an's neck. "I'll ask you one last time, where is Qin Su's grave?!"

The murderous intent in his eyes completely terrified Xue Huai'an. Xue Huai'an was used to dealing with scholars, and someone as barbaric as Yu Shuo was a rare breed. He had no doubt that Yu Shuo would kill him; the murderous intent was too strong.

"In the Western Hills."

He originally intended to just dump people in a mass grave, but on the day Qin Su died, the abbot of Xishan Temple actually appeared, took people away, and said they would be buried in Xishan. Of course, that included that bastard.

"You just wait!"

Yu Shuo stormed out of the Duke of Cheng's mansion, his overwhelming killing intent unable to subside. He didn't even go to see Emperor Mingyang immediately upon returning to the capital.

He found the abbot of Xishan Temple, and with the abbot's guidance, he found the graves, one large and one small.

Yu Shuo touched the stone tablet, his broad, slender hands trembling uncontrollably, his lips also quivering, an overwhelming grief almost engulfing him.

If he had appeared sooner and admitted that he was the one who hosted the Spring River Banquet, would everything have been different?

The host handed over a pot of wine and then left.

"Susu." Yu Shuo hugged the stone tablet, crystal tears rolling down his cheeks. He called out in a suppressed voice, his hands gripping the stone tablet tightly.

Why did you leave me alone? We promised we'd always be together.

"Susu, I know I was wrong. It was my fault."

"I shouldn't be afraid. I should have forced you into marriage."

"Susu, I know I was wrong. Can you answer me? Can you answer me?"

He was kneeling on the ground, still wearing armor, but looking extremely disheveled.

It rains a lot in the western mountains. Yu Shuo sat there for three days without sleep or rest, hardly moving at all, regardless of the rain or thunder.

After an unknown amount of time, Yu Shuo stroked the stone tablet and murmured, "Susu, don't be afraid, there's also... Nannan. I'll come down to be with you. After we've avenged you."

He staggered to his feet, first went to Nishiyama-ji Temple where he managed to eat something, barely hanging on, before returning to Kyoto.

Even when Deng Quan came out of the palace to find him, it couldn't stop him from going to the Duke of Cheng's mansion.

Deng Quan was extremely worried about him.

Yu Shuo didn't care about anything else. He entered the Duke of Cheng's mansion with his sword in hand. The first person to stop him was Chen Yirou, who was also holding a little boy's hand.

She looked at Yu Shuo in fear, "Your Highness Prince Chen, my husband hasn't returned yet."

Yu Shuo didn't waste any words with her. He simply grabbed the child and slit his throat with a sword.

"Ah—" Chen Yirou screamed as she rushed over to hug the child, but Yu Shuo stabbed her through with a sword.

"Your child is innocent, but my child is also innocent."

Deng Quan was initially stunned by Yu Shuo's blatant killing, but he was even more bewildered by what he heard next.

"Your Highness, what do you mean by this?" Deng Quan quickly grabbed Yu Shuo, knowing that Yu Shuo would not lay a hand on him.

Yu Shuo walked to the main seat and sat down before saying to Deng Quan, "Qin Su's child is my flesh and blood."

Deng Quan: ? ? That little girl, is she the little princess?

This news is absolutely explosive!

But now everyone is gone.

The hidden guards were alerted, and Deng Quan immediately took action.

No matter what mistakes Yu Shuo made, he was someone Deng Quan wanted to protect, so even if it cost him his life, he would kill these people.

The Black Armor Army had already surrounded the entire Duke's mansion, preventing anyone from going out to report. Upon seeing Xue Huai'an, they forcibly brought him over. Yu Shuo walked over, said nothing, and immediately drew his sword to strike.

Xue Huai'an knew a little martial arts, but he was no match for Yu Shuo. This sword strike severed his head.

Yu Shuo dropped the sword from his hand, covered his face with one hand, and cried and laughed hysterically.

Deng Quan was extremely worried and dared not step forward at this moment.

Once Yu Shuo had calmed down a bit, he spoke up: "Your Highness, would you like to go to the palace to see His Majesty first?"

Yu Shuo: "We should meet her, after all, Su Su's birth date and time are recorded in the imperial genealogy."

Deng Quan: ? ?

"The Duke of Cheng murdered the Princess Consort of Chen and the eldest daughter of the Prince of Chen. They were executed on the spot, and all the people in his household were beheaded."

Deng Quan dared not say anything; he simply brought Yu Shuo into the palace.

Emperor Mingyang was also greatly shocked upon hearing this, but his younger brother did bear some responsibility. Wouldn't everything have been fine if they had married her sooner?
