The smell of blood.
Xue Huai'an and Qin Su noticed this at the same time.
It wasn't just the faint smell of blood on Xue Huai'an; it was a very strong, almost nauseating odor.
Xue Huai'an immediately realized that something was wrong, but he also had important things to do at the moment. If he gave up at this critical juncture, it would be difficult to find another opportunity later.
After weighing the pros and cons, Xue Huai'an chose to pretend he knew nothing and tore open Qin Su's collar with one hand.
But he didn't get away with it. Qin Su bit her tongue, used a little strength to turn over, and pierced Xue Huai'an's palm with her hairpin.
The extreme pain caused Xue Huai'an to let out a violent scream, which was the scream that caught Xue Qi's attention outside.
"Is the young master alright?"
Xue Huai'an broke out in a cold sweat. He said, "I'm fine. Su Su is fine too."
Lian Tao sensed something was wrong and tried to go inside, but Xue Qi stopped her. The two argued and started fighting again.
"Want to come again?" Qin Su's eyes were fierce and excited, as if her blood was boiling with restlessness.
She gets extremely excited whenever she sees Xue Huai'an injured.
"Give up struggling. I know you're skilled in martial arts, but your sense of smell is poor, so I found some colorless and odorless muscle-softening powder. As long as your maid can't get in, you'll have to kneel before me today."
Qin Su casually made a cut on her arm; the sharp pain made her incredibly alert. "Then let's give it a try."
Both of them were incredibly ruthless.
Xue Huai'an's martial arts skills were inferior to Qin Su's, but he was despicable and reckless enough.
Both of them were injured, and neither was willing to admit defeat.
When Xue Huai'an came over again, Qin Su seized the opportunity and kicked him in the groin.
Xue Huai'an's face turned ashen instantly, writhing in pain. Qin Su chuckled mockingly, "Want to try again?"
She lunged forward, woman on top of man, but there was no intimacy, because the tip of the hairpin was pressed against Xue Huai'an's neck, a vital spot. "If I exert even a little force, you will die."
The veins on Xue Huai'an's forehead throbbed, and he was in so much pain that he almost lost his mind. "You don't dare to kill me. No matter what the reason, you don't dare to kill me."
He felt that no matter how much Qin Su hated him, even if she made him into a cripple, she wouldn't dare to kill him.
This is right under the emperor's nose. Their family's title is Duke of Cheng, conferred by the founding emperor. As the eldest son and the only heir, who would dare to make a move?
Qin Su took a deep breath and thrust the hairpin fiercely towards his groin. Xue Huai'an was shocked and hurriedly tried to block it with his hand, but the hairpin pierced through his palm as well, leaving both palms neatly severed.
He could hardly believe that Qin Su could be so ruthless.
That's so vicious!
"You actually wanted to cripple me." He was panting heavily, and Qin Su was not far behind; their undergarments were almost soaked.
"Ha! It's still perfectly fine, isn't it?" Qin Su scoffed.
Another loud noise came from the pleasure boat. Qin Su moved away, panting.
Lian Tao managed to get away and rushed in. Seeing her young mistress in such a disheveled state, she immediately pounced on her, but she was not as fast as the other person.
A dark shadow seemed to dart past. Was it a big black rat? Lian Tao blinked.
Qin Su fell into a broad embrace. She looked up and saw that it was Yu Shuo, and she finally felt relieved.
"How are you? Did he hurt you?" Yu Shuo couldn't see anyone else; it seemed that Qin Su was the only person in his eyes.
Qin Su shook her head, "That good-for-nothing is only good at drugging people." Qin Su grabbed Yu Shuo's robe with its dark embroidery and panted, "He's dirtied His Highness's clothes again."
"It's alright." Yu Shuo's cold gaze fell on Xue Huai'an, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
Xue Huai'an was in so much pain that his eyes were almost unfocused, but he still sensed the gaze of death.
He was helped up by Xue Qi and could barely make out that the other person was Yu Shuo, while he was still holding Qin Su.
Something seemed to explode in my mind.
"Find the person!" Yu Shuo gave the order, and the people behind him quickly rushed into the painted boat.
Yu Shuo wanted to carry Qin Su away, but Qin Su grabbed his clothes and said, "Wait."
"You're injured," Yu Shuo said, frowning.
"It's just a minor injury, nothing serious." She pointed her bloodied finger at Xue Huai'an and said coldly, "Throw him into the lake!"
Yu Shuo did not hesitate at all and obeyed Qin Su in every way.
"Don't let him drown, he still has a use," Qin Su said again.
Yu Shuo's lips tightened, clearly dissatisfied, but in the end he chose to listen to Qin Su.
He picked up Qin Su and left quickly. Not long after, Chongyang pulled out a black-clad man inside who was barely breathing.
Xue Huai'an screamed, "I am the eldest son of the Duke of Cheng's family! You can't treat me like this!"
Chongyang pressed his head down and said, "You're blind as a bat! You dare to touch anyone, you deserve it!"
Xue Qi wanted to save people, but he was completely controlled by Yu Shuo's men and couldn't move at all.
Xue Huai'an gurgled and begged for help, but who would dare risk offending Prince Chen to save a mere Duke Cheng's son with no future? They'd be crazy!
Xue Huai'an was finally lifted up, barely alive, looking like a water ghost, completely unlike the noble young master he once was.
Chongyang patted his face and said, "Miss Qin doesn't even want to talk to you, but you insist on going up to her. Why bother?"
Xue Huai'an couldn't answer Chongyang's question; he couldn't even think.
Meanwhile, Qin Su was taken to Huichuntang by Yu Shuo and was treated by Uncle Liu.
Uncle Liu was willing to give Yu Shuo a friendly look this time, but it was just a friendly look.
"How did you get injured again?" Uncle Liu felt sorry for you and complained a little.
Qin Su didn't hide anything either, "It's all because that bastard Xue Huai'an drugged me again. Uncle Liu, you know I'm not sensitive to smells."
Uncle Liu sighed, "Never mind, take a bottle of antidote pills with you when you leave. They should be able to cure most of the poison."
Qin Su said coquettishly, "I knew Uncle Liu was the best to me! But please keep this a secret, Uncle Liu, and don't tell my mother."
Uncle Liu sneered, "You know your mother will worry, huh? Since you know that, why did you still take the risk?"
"Ugh! How was I supposed to know he was going to drug me again? This guy is really despicable!" The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, wishing she could tear a piece of flesh off Xue Huai'an.
Yu Shuo chimed in from the side, "How about I teach him a lesson?"
"How could I trouble Your Highness? He's just Xue Huai'an."
In fact, Qin Su didn't think much of herself for falling into Xue Huai'an's trap. After all, Xue Huai'an was destined to become a powerful minister, and he couldn't do without a brain.
"This is no small matter," Yu Shuo managed to utter.
Uncle Liu glanced at the two of them as they went out to prepare the medicine, and Qin Su reached out to Yu Shuo.
Yu Shuo helped her up, and Qin Su said, "Your Highness, look what this is?" She took out a cloth bag.
Yu Shuo opened the rope with his large hand, revealing a black jade barrier inside.
"I've wanted to give this to His Highness for a while, but I kept forgetting. Isn't it beautiful? Although the quality isn't the best, it's still quite nice."
Yu Shuo stroked the patterns on the black jade and said, "I like it very much."
"This is like making amends for causing trouble for Your Highness, so don't blame me." Qin Su winked playfully.
