Wei Ding is a recent college graduate.
Born in a small county, he could only rent a cheap house in order to stay in the big city.
Problems arose as soon as they moved in.
On his first night in this room, Wei Ding had a dream.
In my dream, he was wearing a traditional Chinese long gown with a large red flower on his chest, and he was having a wedding ceremony with someone.
The surrounding guests were all beaming with joy, laughing and offering their congratulations.
There was a thin layer of fog in the room, making it difficult to see clearly.
The unfamiliar scene left him slightly stunned.
"Wei Lang, what are you daydreaming about? The wedding ceremony is about to begin."
The bride's voice was ethereal, like a spring breeze in March brushing against one's ear, making one feel lightheaded.
Wei Ding appeared dazed, but under pressure from the bride and guests, he completed the ceremony.
For some reason, he felt something was off.
The master of ceremonies shouted, "Send them to the bridal chamber!"
Wei Ding looked up and finally saw the scene before him.
In the main hall, sat a pair of paper-mache mannequins.
Her face was deathly pale, her cheeks were exaggeratedly red, and her empty eyes stared at him.
Wei Ding instinctively stepped back, his calves went weak, and he staggered and fell to the ground.
"Are you alright?" The guests gathered around.
Wei Ding looked up and found himself surrounded by a group of paper figures.
Overwhelmed by fear, he let out a piercing scream.
Wei Ding woke up screaming, his whole body drenched in cold sweat. Fortunately, it was all just a dream.
He was still in shock, and it was not yet dawn, but he dared not sleep any longer.
I sat there blankly until dawn, which affected my work the next day.
He thought it was just a nightmare, but the next night, Wei Ding dreamed of the bride again.
However, in a different setting, he and his bride were in an antique-style bridal chamber, with peanuts, longans, and other items on the table.
Everything in the room was covered with large white "double happiness" characters.
Wei Ding felt no joy, only boundless fear.
"My lord, won't you drink a cup of nuptial wine with me?"
The ethereal sounds entered my ears from all directions.
Wei Ding ran up and opened the door, but the door didn't budge.
The bride, wearing a red veil and holding two cups, slowly walked towards him: "Husband, it's time to drink the nuptial wine."
Even though his head was covered by a veil, she could still pinpoint his location with perfect accuracy.
Wei Ding pinched his thigh hard and finally woke up.
The blanket was soaked with cold sweat again.
Wei Ding didn't dare to sleep anymore and sat there until dawn.
Having not slept well for two consecutive nights, Wei Ding's mind was almost unable to think, and he was completely unable to carry out his work.
On the third night, he still dared not sleep.
I kept playing on my phone, and before I knew it, my eyes were closing.
He dreamed of the bride again.
Her voice was pleading: "Husband, why did you leave me? Was I not good enough?"
Wei Ding shuddered and shook his head frantically: "No."
The bride said happily, "I knew you wouldn't dislike me. Will you stay with me forever?"
Seeing that Wei Ding did not answer for a long time, the bride raised her head.
You could feel her resentment even through the red veil.
She stretched out her claws, sharp claws with red nail polish, and reached for Wei Ding's chest.
Wei Ding woke up in terror once again.
He was tortured to the point of becoming emaciated.
If we don't go to sleep soon, everyone else will go crazy.
[This room is so scary, how could you still dare to stay here?]
[The landlord is so rude! Knowing it was haunted, they still rented it to someone else. How hateful!]
Let's not talk about this anymore, let's move out first.
Wei Ding said with a bitter face, "I have no friends here, and I can't find a house in a short time."
"The most crucial thing is that I was taking a lunch break at the company, and I still dreamed about that female ghost."
That means even hiding at the ends of the earth wouldn't solve the problem.
This is terrifying! You'd be scared to death, or tortured to death!
[If a female ghost tries to harm someone, beat her until her soul is scattered!]
Su Lenghe's voice was cold: "She is your wife, so you dream about her."
Wei Ding denied it: "I am Mudan, I have never even touched a woman's hand, how could I possibly have a wife?"
Did you find anything while you were moving?
Wei Ding thought for a moment and said, "Yes, I found a red envelope."
"Oh right, I still have the red envelope. Let me show it to you."
Red paper, folded into the shape of an envelope.
Wei Ding unfolded the envelope: "Oh right, there's something written inside that I can't understand, it seems to be some kind of date."
The date was written on the red paper.
Su Lenghe: "This is the woman's birth date and time, and this is a marriage certificate for a ghost marriage."
The red paper in his hand turned into a venomous snake that could bite, and Wei Ding was so frightened that he threw it away.
"I...I don't know, I just picked up a red envelope."
"There's money in the red envelope. If you spend the money inside, it means you've agreed to the marriage."
Wei Ding was almost in tears: "There was only a hundred inside, and I thought no one would come to pick it up, so I spent it."
"That money will be the dowry; that's a done deal."
Serves you right! Who told you to be so stingy with your money?
That's human nature; most people would choose not to tell anyone if they found money.
There's a saying here: if you find money, you have to spend it immediately, otherwise you'll lose money.
We have a saying here: since the amount isn't large, very few people will come looking for the owner.
Wei Ding regretted his actions: "Can I put the money back?"
Su Lenghe shook her head: "Once you agree to the marriage, there's no going back."
Wei Ding was completely exhausted and slumped into a chair.
There was only one thought in my mind.
