Chapter 19 Barrage Protection

Li Mengping: "Leng He, don't take Ren Rui's words to heart. The Su family doesn't want you because they're not lucky enough."

Su Lenghe smiled slightly: "The Su family is indeed not blessed."

A few days ago, she saw Feng Yu's face and knew that the feng shui of his partner's place was not good.

Seeing that Su Lenghe didn't seem to care at all, Li Mengping slowly breathed a sigh of relief.

"I heard the Su family isn't planning on the engagement anymore, saying something happened to the groom's side." Afraid of upsetting Su Lenghe, she didn't even dare mention his name.

Su Lenghe said frankly, "Feng Yu is indeed facing a bloody disaster."

Li Mengping was surprised that Su Lenghe knew, but then she thought about Su Lenghe's abilities and realized that everything seemed normal.

Seeing that Su Lenghe openly mentioned her ex-boyfriend's name without seeming to care at all, she finally felt completely relieved and began gossiping about the Su family: "The Su family's company is currently embroiled in lawsuits, which I heard are seriously affecting the stock price. Your ex-mother even invited a Taoist priest from out of town to her home to pray for blessings. If you ask me, she should have come to you instead."

"A Taoist priest?" Su Lenghe asked doubtfully, "From out of town?"

Kyoto has Taoist priests, so why hire one from out of town?

Li Mengping: "Anyway, that's what Ren Rui said. She said the Taoist priest had a southern accent, maybe because she thought those from other places were more effective." Ren Rui and Su Xueying got along well.

A glint of light flashed in Su Lenghe's eyes. Is that really the case?

Li Mengping talked a lot of gossip about the Su family, which Su Lenghe found strange.

The Su family's attitudes towards Su Lenghe and Su Xueying were worlds apart.

If they had known earlier that Su Lenghe was not their biological child, it would have been understandable. However, the Su family claimed that they only recently discovered that the child had been switched at birth.

I remember once Su Lenghe got into trouble, and her mother blurted out, "You bastard!"

Su Lenghe asked, bewildered, "Mom, what does bastard mean?"

Su's mother hurriedly changed the subject: "You misheard!"

I initially thought it was just Su's mother speaking recklessly in anger, but now I wonder if Su's mother already knew something.

A flash of inspiration crossed my mind, but it was hard to catch.

As Su Lenghe walked to the elevator, she saw a dark figure crouching in the hallway.

Seeing Su Lenghe return, Rong Yan stood up happily: "You're back."

"You found that person?"

Rong Yan shook his head: "I took the possession talisman to my uncle's company, but I found nothing. Those people at night were too abnormal, so I can only go during the day."

Su Lenghe nodded approvingly. She had thought he was impulsive because of his young age, but she hadn't expected him to be so thoughtful and sensible.

He held up what he was holding: "I brought you some food, all roast duck from Quandeju."

Su Lenghe let him into the elevator: "Come on up."

Rong Yan looked at the cramped room, feeling that even the two of them seemed crowded. His eyes darted around and he said, "Master Su, I have a spare apartment. How about I give it to you?"

Su Lenghe nodded: "Okay, I'll transfer the money to you."

Rong Yan smiled and helped Su Lenghe sit down: "Actually, I have a favor to ask of you. Whether you agree or not, I'll give you the house."

Su Lenghe rolled up the golden-brown, glistening roast duck in a spring pancake, dipped it in sauce, and put it in her mouth. The meat was fatty but not greasy, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—truly a delicacy. It turns out that not only instant noodles, but other things can be delicious too.

"Speak, what is it?"

Rong Yan took a deep breath, mustered his courage, and asked with a burning gaze, "Can I come to see you more often in the future?"

Su Lenghe nodded: "I'm not considering a house for now, but it's fine if you come to me."

This place isn't forbidden territory, so of course she can come.

Upon hearing his answer, Rong Yan's face broke into a big smile, and he sat down on the other sofa to eat.

The roast duck, which I was already tired of eating on ordinary days, suddenly became incredibly delicious.

After they had eaten and drunk their fill, Rong Yan asked, "Are you still going to do a live stream today?"

Su Lenghe opened Douyin (TikTok) and found many private messages from people asking for her help. After thinking for a moment, she said, "There are so many people who need my help, of course I should broadcast it."

Rong Yan's eyes lit up: "Can I watch you broadcast? Don't worry, I'll be hiding in the shadows and won't bother you. I can even help you out."

Since it wouldn't affect her much, Su Lenghe agreed.

Su Lenghe opened the live stream and saw the number of viewers jump from one hundred to ten thousand in just a short while.

Wow, the streamer's back on air! Time for some spooky stuff!

[The streamer is so pretty! I'm drooling!]

[Pshaw, it's all filtered.]

Rong Yan was watching the live stream on his phone when he saw these comments, and a mocking smile appeared on his lips.

What an ignorant fellow! He sealed Master Su's good looks in the live stream. What a pity! He couldn't restore Master Su's beauty.

Su Lenghe said, "We'll draw three divination sticks again today. Who wants to do it?"

The comments section was flooded with messages.

Pick me! Pick me!

[Watch me, streamer]

A name that read "Who can save me" caught Su Lenghe's attention.

Su Lenghe clicked on the connection, and the screen was filled with hair. After a few seconds, the hair turned around, and it was still hair.

[Oh my god, is this person crazy? It's like they've been ghosted!]

[Get this guy out of here! He's a pervert!]

There was no sound from the other end of the video call. Su Lenghe said in a cold voice, "If you don't say anything, I'm hanging up."

Rong Yan was so frightened that he shrank into a ball. He looked up at Su Lenghe, whose expression was calm, and couldn't help but admire her courage.

She moved her finger toward the hang-up button, just as she was about to press it.

The person on the screen slowly brushed aside their hair, revealing a face glowing green, with empty eyes and bloodstains on their eyes and mouth.
