Su Lenghe's eyes flashed: "Your sister's friend might not be human."
Gao Yuan's hand trembled, and most of the water in the cup he was holding spilled out: "What?!"
Su Lenghe said calmly, "Don't worry, I'll draw you a protective amulet for your sister to carry, and everything will be fine."
From the small denim pocket, a number of things were taken out, leaving Gao Yuan dumbfounded. Even Rong Yan, who had seen them before, was still surprised.
With just a few strokes, a talisman was completed. Gao Yuan carefully placed it in his pocket: "Thank you, Master. How much does this talisman cost?"
Before Su Lenghe could speak, Rong Yan held up two fingers. Gao Yuan immediately understood and scanned two thousand for Su Lenghe.
This talisman combines the effects of exorcising ghosts and protecting the wearer; it's quite complex, and the price isn't considered high.
I added Gao Yuan on WeChat so I could contact Su Lenghe anytime.
It's still early before the live stream, so Su Lenghe plans to go to the hospital to see Rong Ce.
Rong Ce had mostly recovered. When Su Lenghe arrived, he was sitting on his hospital bed working.
"Master Su."
As soon as Su Lenghe entered, Rong Ce's eyes lit up instantly. He quickly stopped what he was doing and smiled slightly.
His skin looked very white because he hadn't been in the sun for a long time.
The sun outside the window shone on his face, casting a warm yellow glow on him, making his jet-black hair appear almost blue. His snow-white shirt was crisp, and his blue tie was striking. He was handsome yet elegant, truly captivating.
Su Lenghe's gaze remained fixed on Rong Ce's face, motionless. Rong Yan's hands unconsciously tightened, wrinkling the blanket. His breathing suddenly became disordered, and he dared not look at Su Lenghe.
Su Lenghe nodded in satisfaction, not noticing Rong Ce's slightly reddened ear tips: "Not bad, you've recovered very well."
Rong Ce turned his face away awkwardly, and for some reason, he felt that the air was a little thin.
Many women had looked at him with adoring eyes before, but he only felt annoyed. Su Lenghe's eyes were devoid of any emotion, yet they made him afraid to respond. This was the first time in his life he had ever been so timid.
Just as he was thinking of a topic to ease the awkward atmosphere, there was a knock on the ward door.
As soon as the door opened, a doctor with a pale face rushed in. When he saw Su Lenghe, he looked at her as if she were his savior: "Master, please save me."
Su Lenghe raised an eyebrow: "You ran into her?"
The doctor nodded vigorously, utterly impressed by Su Lenghe: "That was terrifying."
Rong Yan and Rong Ce stared at the doctor with expressions of utter disbelief.
This doctor is the one who gave Su Lenghe the amulet when she came to the hospital last time; his name is Ding He.
Last night was his night shift. He went to the first floor to pick up something, but the elevator didn't stop on the first floor and went straight to the third basement level.
The third basement level was a morgue, but he had already seen many cadavers when he was studying medicine, so he didn't feel anything special about it.
The elevator stopped, and a nurse walked in. She kept her head down, so her face was not visible.
She walked in, and Ding greeted her with a smile, "Hello."
The woman's voice was ethereal and filled with doubt: "You...can you see me?"
Ding He's heart skipped a beat, but then he realized it must be a prank, and instead nodded with a smile: "Yes."
The woman slowly raised her head, revealing a scene that Ding He would never forget: the woman's face was devoid of features, a result of being burned by a fire.
Ding He opened his mouth wide, but his throat felt like it was being clamped shut, and he couldn't make a sound. The woman slowly raised her hand, and Ding He could clearly see the red bracelet on her wrist.
This is the sign for a body in the morgue; she is not alive.
She put her hand to her mouth: "Shh, don't wake them up."
them?
Footsteps sounded outside the door, and a chill ran down his spine and through his body. He stiffly turned his head and could clearly hear the cracking of his joints.
Outside the elevator, there were people everywhere—no, they weren't people; they were all wearing red bracelets.
Their bodies twisted at bizarre angles as they crawled toward him, making a choking sound from deep within their throats.
Ding He frantically pressed the elevator close button, but all the buttons were malfunctioning. Just when he felt desperate, his wallet suddenly felt hot.
Remembering that the talisman Su Lenghe had given him was in this pouch, Ding He took out the talisman and found that the ghosts seemed very scared and quickly hid behind him. In that instant, everything went black and the elevator shook violently.
Ding He experienced a momentary blindness, which was followed by a return of his sight. He found the elevator completely empty, and even the hallway was spotless.
The elevator stopped on the first floor, and Ding was already drenched in cold sweat...
He thought he had just had a dream. When Ding came to his senses, he realized that the vermilion color of the talisman had faded and the color was very light.
He clearly remembered that the talisman was still very brightly colored not long ago. Only when he recalled what Su Lenghe had said when she gave him the talisman did he belatedly realize that he had really seen a ghost.
Knowing that Su Lenghe had come to the hospital, he rushed over without stopping.
Su Lenghe glanced at the other person's forehead, which was dark and thick, with a messy hairline and a dull, lackluster appearance.
"Aren't there quite a few unclaimed corpses in the hospital?"
Ding He nodded: "Some people who are in accidents and are sent to the hospital but cannot be saved, and who do not have identification information, or whose families do not claim them, will be temporarily placed in the hospital."
Su Lenghe: "Don't worry, they mean no harm. They're just bored. But you've been having a bit of bad luck lately, which is why you ran into them."
Ding He, on the verge of tears, said, "Then won't I run into them soon?"
"You should take the rest of the week off and stay home. You've been having a run of bad luck lately and are prone to accidents. I'll give you a talisman to protect you. As long as you stay home, you'll be fine."
