Chapter 55 The Truth of That Year

Upon hearing this, Master Xu suddenly realized something, his face filled with disbelief: "Impossible! Impossible!"

When Feng Zhen saw Xu Tianshi lying on the ground, looking somewhat deranged, and then saw Su Lenghe completely unharmed, he knew that his plan had been exposed. He tiptoed away, trying to escape.

"Who exactly are you?" Master Xu suddenly grabbed Feng Zhen's ankle.

Feng Zhen was so frightened that he let out a scream.

"Who exactly are you?" Master Xu gripped Feng Zhen's ankle tightly, and no matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't break free.

“He should be your blood father.” Su Lenghe’s voice was cold.

Upon hearing this, Feng Zhen subconsciously looked down and saw that Master Xu's face overlapped with a face from his memory.

No wonder he thought Master Xu looked familiar; it turned out he was that woman's child.

He was only eighteen years old at the time, full of youthful vigor, when he met Xu Jing, a girl who captivated his heart.

Both of them were at the age when they were just beginning to experience love, and like dry wood meeting a raging fire, they tasted forbidden fruit for the first time. Unexpectedly, she became pregnant.

When Xu Jing found him and told him the news, her face still showed confusion, helplessness and fear about the future. She cried and asked him what she should do.

What else could they do? The decision to seal off the town was obviously to force her to abort the child.

However, in those days, aborting a child was an extremely dangerous thing. On the day the surgery was scheduled, Feng Zhen chickened out. He bought a train ticket to another city and ran away overnight.

A year passed before he returned from out of town. He heard that Xu Jing hadn't had surgery, and her belly grew big within a few days. When the school found out, she was expelled.

She went insane after that, and no one ever saw her again.

Over the years, Feng Zhen had long forgotten about this matter. If it weren't for the fact that he was guessing Xu Tianshi's age, he wouldn't have remembered it at all.

This is not his fault at all. He asked her to take the child, but she refused. He also paid half of the money.

Master Xu's eyes were bloodshot, filled with a deep-seated hatred, as if he wished he could devour Feng Zhen alive.

Feng Zhen felt a chill run down his spine under that gaze, and Xu Tianshi increased the pressure on his hand, sending a sharp, piercing pain through his body from the kick.

Feng Zhen jerked his foot away, but it was still held firmly. A savage glint flashed in his eyes as he wanted to kick him.

His other foot, which wasn't being held, had just left the ground when it slowly fell back down. Master Xu could take lives from a distance, so it was best not to offend him easily.

Feng Zhen covered his face, pressed his thumb hard against his eye, and finally a tear fell: "Child, I've finally found you."

"I've missed you so much all these years! Don't be afraid, Dad will go out and find someone to rescue you right now!"

Xu Tianshi's eyes were filled with even more hatred. Back then, because his father abandoned her, his mother went insane while heavily pregnant and was kicked out of the family.

His mother hid in the mountains while heavily pregnant, surviving on wild fruits, and soon gave birth to him.

Because no one took care of her, her mother fell seriously ill. Before she died, she met a master who had come down the mountain to gain experience, and was taken in by the master.

When her mother left home, she carried her own diary with her, which recorded her past with Fengzhen.

However, Fengzhen's name was crossed out with a pen, the strokes heavy, carrying the owner's deep hatred.

Master Xu harbored deep hatred for his father. If his father hadn't abandoned his wife and children, he wouldn't have been ridiculed for being a fatherless child, nor for having a crazy mother.

He was ridiculed when he was a child, and the root cause of it all was the closure of the town.

Looking into Master Xu's hateful gaze, Feng Zhen understood everything: Master Xu would definitely kill him.

He looked around and his gaze settled on a glass ashtray.

Feng Zhen took a step forward, grabbed the ashtray, and felt a sense of security from its cold, heavy texture. He was certain that Master Xu was doomed now.

He raised the ashtray high, about to bring it down, when Su Lenghe's cold voice came from beside him: "Your two sons are now bound by fate. If you kill this one, the other will die too. Are you sure you still want to do it?"

Feng Zhen paused, his hand still. He glanced at Feng Li, who was ravaged by illness and barely recognizable.

He sneered, "Judging from his appearance, even if I don't do anything, he won't live for more than a few days."

"Besides, I am their father, so it is only right and proper for me to take their lives back."

"Feng Li, go in peace. I will take good care of Feng Yu."

"No!" Feng Yu couldn't move his legs, so he gripped the floor with both hands and tried to move forward. Because of the force, his fingernails curled outwards and were instantly covered in blood.

Feng Zhen's eyes were filled with ruthlessness as he slammed the ashtray down, stopping abruptly just centimeters from Zhang Tianshi's head.

He looked down at his abdomen in disbelief, where a peach wood sword lay, pierced through him from the past.

Xu Tianshi gripped the peach wood sword, his eyes bloodshot, surging with hatred.

The ashtray slipped from his hand and fell to the floor, shattering into several large pieces that flew everywhere. One piece landed on Feng Yu's face, cutting him.

Upon seeing this scene, Feng Yu's mind went blank; he was completely terrified.

Master Xu twirled the peach wood sword, and drops of blood fell onto the floor, quickly soaking a large area.

Feng Zhen knelt on the floor, his head bowed, looking as if he were repenting from the side. He still didn't understand why a wooden sword could pierce him.

Master Xu's eyes gleamed with the ecstasy of revenge, flashing with a mad light. He threw his head back and burst into a wild laugh, a chilling laugh that sent shivers down one's spine.

The pain in Fengzhen was unbearable. A piece of shattered glass from the ashtray flew to his feet. His eyes lit up and he suddenly stabbed at his own neck.

Master Xu's laughter abruptly stopped, and he fell to the ground without a sound. The light in his eyes disappeared, and he did not close them until his death.

Seeing Xu Tianshi no longer breathing, Feng Yu realized something. He turned around and saw blood gushing from his father's neck, with a relieved smile on his lips. He completely broke down: "No!"

"Hahaha...Grandpa's going to kill Dad!"

"It's all mine! As long as Dad succeeds, all the family's assets will be mine!"

Upon seeing this scene, Rong Yan was so frightened that he fainted. The scene was simply too bloody.

He thought that fainting would stop him from being scared, but Su Lenghe woke him up: "Get up quickly!"

When Rong Yan opened his eyes, he saw Su Lenghe's beautiful face. She looked calm and showed no fear.

He suspected that what had just happened was a dream, but the smell of blood in the air told him that it was all real.

Su Lenghe threw a wake-up talisman at his face: "You can't faint now. We have to take them away. They'll die if we wait any longer."

Rong Yan swallowed hard, glared at the two young Taoist priests, and said unhappily, "They just tried to kill you, why did you save them?"

“They were just being controlled. Besides, they didn’t have any lives on their hands. I can’t just stand by and watch them die.”

Rong Yan stood in front of a young Taoist priest, half-squatted down, and carried the young priest on his back: "I'll carry one down first."

As soon as he finished speaking, he felt a sudden lightness in his body.
