Chapter 74 Special Organizations

Weng Ling was awakened by the sound of voices. When she opened her eyes, she saw her stepmother taking off her clothes.

She tried to dodge, but found her body weak and she didn't even have the strength to lift her hand. Her gaze fell on the water glass by the bed and she instantly realized that something had been added to it.

Seeing her wake up, her stepmother had a sinister smile on her face: "It's good that you're awake. Don't worry, you'll be the bride in a little while."

"If you have to blame someone, blame your dad for being unlucky and losing his bets again. If you don't get married, your dad will sell me."

"Luckily, I was smart. I told your dad that a virgin girl is worth much more, and that's why he changed his mind and decided to sell you."

"But don't worry, he's forty years older than you and very caring. As long as you keep him happy, all three of his houses will be yours in the future."

Only then did Weng Ling realize that she was wearing a red wedding dress, and that her own father was planning to sell her to an old man forty years her senior.

She could even be her grandfather; the thought made Weng Ling feel nauseous.

After dressing her, her stepmother left. Weng Ling bit her finger hard to stay awake.

With her ten fingers bitten until they bled profusely, Weng Ling finally regained most of her strength.

She surveyed the terrain, planning to climb out the window, but just as her foot stepped onto the windowsill, Weng Zhong entered.

"You can't leave!" Weng Zhong rushed up, grabbed Weng Ling, and dragged her up.

Driven by an overwhelming survival instinct, Weng Ling struggled desperately. Weng Zhong nearly lost his grip several times. In his anxiety and anger, he grabbed a rope and strangled Weng Ling's neck.

Weng Zhong's eyes turned red, his gaze filled with a fierce look, and gradually Weng Ling's hands went limp.

"Ouch, you strangled her to death!"

Upon hearing this, Weng Zhong finally realized what had happened. He gasped for breath, trying to process what had just occurred.

Finally, he came up with a plan: to seal Weng Ling in the ceiling. Weng Zhong also threatened his new wife: "If you tell anyone about this, I will kill you."

The proprietress, pale-faced and flustered, nodded. The gambling debts were later paid off by Weng Zhong selling his wife.

Weng Ling's resentment lingered, and her soul wandered around Weng Zhong's house. Countless times she wanted to strangle Weng Zhong and his wife, but every time she tried, her body would pass right through them.

Later, her resentment grew stronger and stronger, and she was able to enter the dreams of living people, so she would come out every night to scare them.

As a result, the man hired a Taoist priest who performed a ritual to suppress her in her home, leaving her only able to sleep.

After Weng Ling disappeared, her grandmother searched for her every day. Knowing that Weng Ling had been here, her grandmother came to question Weng Zhong.

Weng Zhong scolded her grandmother, saying that she ran away from home because her grandmother abused her.

Weng Zhong also had people spread rumors that her grandmother raised her only to collect dowry money.

Grandma was so upset that she fell ill and couldn't get out of bed. Weng Ling was very worried and desperately wanted to break free from her constraints.

Tonight, she finally succeeded and entered Rong Yan's dream.

Liang Xun broke the restrictions on her, allowing her to seek revenge.

Weng Zhong was killed by Weng Ling seeking revenge.

Xie Tianlin held a talisman between two fingers: "But you killed someone, so you can't be allowed to live now!"

Weng Ling showed no intention of resisting: "Taoist Master, I just want to see my grandmother one last time. Even if you beat me to a pulp, I won't complain."

Xie Tianlin's fingers trembled slightly. After thinking for a long time, he finally said, "I'll give you the time it takes for an incense stick to burn."

Weng Ling bowed deeply to Su Lenghe and Xie Tianlin, and then disappeared from everyone's sight.

Liang Xun was stunned for a while before he came to his senses. The furrows between his brows were so deep they could trap a fly: "Chief, how are we going to close this case?"

You can't exactly write in the report that a living person was killed by a vengeful ghost, can you?

Xie Tianlin said slowly, "This matter has been taken over by a special organization, so you don't need to worry about the rest."

He glanced at Liang Xun: "I need your help now."

"What kind of help?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Xie Tianlin produced a talisman and injected it into Liang Xun's body.

What did you do to me?

Xie Tianlin: "What did you see today?"

Liang Xun opened his mouth wide, but couldn't make a sound.

Xie Tianlin said, "You accidentally witnessed what happened today. To be on the safe side, I placed a restriction on your body so that you can't say a word about what happened today."

Su Lenghe couldn't help but ask, "Can I see your talisman?"

Xie Tianlin assumed that Su Lenghe had never seen this talisman before and was just curious, so he took out a talisman.

Upon seeing the talisman, Su Lenghe's eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, "I never imagined there were such wonderful things!"

Xie Tianlin said with a proud look on his face: "This talisman was drawn by my master. There are fewer than three people in the world who can draw this talisman, so of course it is of good quality."

Su Lenghe's gaze remained fixed on the yellow paper of the talisman, showing no interest in its contents: "This is the real gem. The yellow paper I buy in stores is of such poor quality."

“However,” Su Lenghe frowned slightly, pointing to a certain spot, “this talisman is drawn incorrectly here.”

Xie Tianlin was somewhat unhappy: "My master is never wrong."

Su Lenghe didn't say anything and returned the talisman.

Su Lenghe suddenly covered her ears with her hands. Xie Tianlin was about to ask her why she did this when he saw a red shadow flash by.

It turned out that the time it takes for an incense stick to burn had come to an end, and Weng Ling suddenly appeared in front of everyone, startling Rong Yan and the other two into screaming again.

Xie Tianlin felt like his eardrums were about to burst from being shouted at, and finally understood why Su Lenghe had covered her ears.

I never imagined she could be so prescient; her abilities might even rival her master's.
