Xie Tianlin explained.
Special organizations, also known as paranormal investigation organizations, are dedicated to investigating and resolving paranormal events that occur in the public sphere. They conduct investigations into paranormal events in order to uncover the truth.
Rong Yan exclaimed, "I never imagined there was such an organization."
Xie Tianlin: "With the development of the modern internet, events can spread easily. In order not to cause panic, this organization is kept secret."
Rong Yan asked curiously, "Are you going to Qinghua Village to investigate paranormal events as well?"
Xie Tianlin nodded.
This matter shouldn't have been his responsibility, but since he had followed Su Lenghe to Jiangcheng, he figured he might as well investigate and find out more about Su Lenghe.
A few years ago, a strange thing happened in Qinghua Village: half of the village's hundred people died within a month.
Rong Yan: "Could it be an infectious disease?"
Xie Tianlin shook his head: "The causes of death vary. Some drowned, some fell from trees and died, some were sick..."
Rong Yan couldn't help but shudder. If the souls of these dead people were still alive, the scene would be terrifying.
Fortunately, the ox tears could only last for half an hour, and Rong Yan couldn't see anything now.
As the car drove from the city road into the country lanes, the road became narrower and narrower, and the dust kicked up by the dirt road rose high, making the high-end and stylish red sports car look rustic.
The road behind them was very narrow, so they had to park their car in an open area and walk.
Rong Yan was initially worried that Su Lenghe wouldn't take this kind of route, and insisted on carrying her bag, but he saw Su Lenghe walking briskly, leaving the two of them far behind.
The signal is bad here, the navigation is not working, and there is a fork in the road ahead. I don't know which way to go.
Rong Yan looked around and saw no one else around except the three of them. He said, "I'll go see if there's anyone nearby and ask for directions."
Su Lenghe picked up a stone: "No need."
The stone was discarded, fell to the ground, rolled twice, and came to a stop on the right-hand path.
"Take this route."
Su Lenghe strode forward.
Although Xie Tianlin was quite certain of Master Su's fortune-telling abilities, he felt it was too hasty to test the waters, and he was still unsure of himself.
After walking for half an hour, they finally saw an old man carrying a load on a shoulder pole walking towards them. Xie Tianlin greeted him politely and asked, "Excuse me, sir, how do I get to Qinghua Village?"
The old man's pupils suddenly contracted, and his slow steps suddenly became brisk: "I don't know, I don't know anything."
Rong Yan said loudly, "It's alright, sir. It doesn't matter if you don't know."
He wanted to reassure the old man, but as soon as he spoke, the old man started running away, even losing his shoes without coming back to pick them up.
The old man was running in a hurry when he slipped on a stone, fell, and twisted his ankle, unable to get up.
Rong Yan helped the man home: "Grandpa, there's no ghost chasing you, why are you running?"
Xie Tianlin followed behind, carrying the load on his shoulders.
Upon hearing this, the old man shuddered again.
He thought the group of people were good people, and sighed, saying, "Qinghua Village is haunted."
"That village is very strange. First, half of the villagers died for no reason, and then it was haunted every night."
Qinghua Village is located in a remote area and does not like to interact with other villages. Strange noises are often heard from there.
Some people went to see out of curiosity, and when they came back, they had gone crazy.
From a distance, the people of Qinghua Village looked like walking corpses, an eerie sight.
You can hear crying as soon as you get a little closer.
Rong Yan dismissed it: "It's probably just a rumor."
The old man waved his hand: "Before, some young people didn't believe in the superstition. A dozen or so young men went together, and they all heard crying. They all came back and fell seriously ill. No one dared to go again."
As he spoke, the old man shivered, and the hairs on his arms stood on end.
Xie Tianlin said, "Thank you, sir."
Filled with doubt, the three of them walked in the direction the old man pointed, crossed a valley, and arrived at a mountain villa.
The village is nestled in a valley, surrounded by mountains.
Valley basins are low-lying areas that easily accumulate dirt and grime, are susceptible to air pollution, have poor ventilation, and are damp, making them completely unsuitable for living.
Rong Yan was very happy and pointed straight ahead: "There are people there. It doesn't look like what the old man said. I think he's just lying to people."
An old woman was walking in the yard with her hands on her waist and her body hunched over.
Xie Tianlin immediately reached behind his back, where he carried a peach wood sword wrapped in cloth.
Su Lenghe's voice was cold: "Don't alert them."
Xie Tianlin looked at Su Lenghe with a probing gaze, but seeing that she had a frank expression and was obviously visiting Qinghua Village for the first time, he instinctively felt that she was not a bad person, so he obediently and slowly put his hand down.
Hearing the noise, the old woman slowly got up, her cloudy eyes slowly moving, a smile spreading across her face, her voice hoarse: "I didn't expect that people from our village would actually come."
She spoke loudly, attracting many villagers to watch, all of whom had smiles on their faces.
Rong Yan then realized something was wrong; the smiles on these people's faces looked fake, as if they came from an assembly line.
Moreover, their pupils are very large, with almost no whites visible, making them look like two black holes.
Rong Yan's legs went weak, and his body instinctively wanted to escape. Just as he was about to retreat, it suddenly got dark.
"Master Su..."
Just as Rong Yan was about to speak, he saw Aunt Su Lenghe strike his shoulder with a palm, sending him flying backward.
When he came to his senses and wanted to go back in, he heard Su Lenghe's voice: "It's dangerous inside. Just wait outside. Use this or that talisman if anything happens."
A talisman flew out with her voice, hitting Rong Yan's chest, where he caught it steadily.
