Su Yan hesitated, glancing at the other customers still seated in the coffee shop. "Didn't you want to...?"
Duan Sisi had guessed what she was going to say and interrupted her.
"It's okay, I'll call my dear husband."
Su Yan inexplicably felt like she had been fed a mouthful of dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing public displays of affection), "Having a husband is so carefree."
After Qiao Chen took over the shift, Duan Sisi drove Su Yan to the hospital.
Wenrou received the news and waited at the hospital entrance early in the morning.
When Duan Sisi and Su Yan arrived, they led them to the ward, but to their surprise, Yin Xiaorui was nowhere to be seen.
Wenrou paused for a moment, looking somewhat anxious. She quickly walked to the bedside and asked the middle-aged woman who was making the bed.
"Auntie, where's Xiaorui?"
Yin Xiaorui's mother replied, "Yes, Xiaorui's father took her downstairs to the garden to get some sun."
Her gentle heart finally relaxed.
Yin Xiaorui's mother also noticed Duan Sisi and Su Yan, and pointed at them, asking, "Who are these two?"
Wenrou quickly replied, "It's Xiaorui and my friend. They came to see Xiaorui."
Yin Xiaorui's mother immediately smiled at Su Yan and Duan Sisi and said, "Thank you for still remembering Xiaorui. You are both good children."
When Su Yan saw that her eyes were clearly red when she said this, she couldn't help but feel touched.
They said goodbye to Xiaorui's mother for the time being and started walking downstairs.
Wenrou, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up: "Xiaorui's mother is a very gentle and kind woman, but unfortunately, this happened to her daughter."
