Su Xiaoyu stopped drawing and looked up at Su Yan, who was busy with housework.
"Mother."
She called out and turned to look at the doorway.
Su Yan took a deep breath, turned around and went into the bedroom to find the earplugs for sleeping, and put them on Su Xiaoyu.
"He's drunk and acting crazy, let's ignore him. Are you hungry? Mom will go to the kitchen and make you something delicious."
Su Xiaoyu watched as Su Yan walked into the kitchen, took off her earplugs, and Yi An's wailing continued.
She jumped off the stool, walked to the door, and quietly opened it a crack, just in time to see Yi An lying on the ground opposite, grinning foolishly.
He muttered to himself, "I'm a married man now, hehe, I'm not all alone anymore. I also have sweet little Yu, little Yu, let Uncle hug you."
Su Xiaoyu shivered as she looked at his outstretched arms and immediately closed the door quietly again.
She turned her head to go back to drawing, but Duan Sisi's words popped into her mind.
"Xiaoyu, if Mom really finds her own happiness, will you accept your new dad?"
Duan Sisi watched as Su Xiaoyu's paintbrush suddenly stopped, remaining motionless for a long time, even blurring the painting on the table.
Duan Sisi hurriedly explained in a panic, "Auntie Sisi was just asking casually, don't overthink it. If you don't like it, Auntie won't ask anymore!"
Just as Duan Sisi was about to get up and leave, Su Xiaoyu's voice drifted over.
"If Xiaoyu accepts her new father, will he treat her mother well?"
Duan Sisi was stunned for a moment, then turned around in surprise.
"Xiaoyu, you spoke? You finally dared to talk to Auntie? Doesn't that prove you consider Auntie a friend?"
Su Xiaoyu didn't answer, she just stared straight at her.
Duan Sisi realized she had lost her composure and quickly reverted to her dignified self as Aunt Sisi.
She patiently explained to Su Xiaoyu, "Xiaoyu, Mommy will meet someone who truly loves and cherishes her sooner or later, but that doesn't mean Xiaoyu will lose her mother. Xiaoyu hasn't lost her mother; she'll have a new father who loves you. Doesn't Xiaoyu want a father?"
Su Xiaoyu murmured to herself, "A new dad?"
Duan Sisi grabbed her hand. "Xiaoyu, you have to believe in your mother. You are your mother's most precious treasure in this world. Your mother will never abandon you for anyone. Do you understand?"
Su Xiaoyu lowered her head, muttering about her new father, and turned back to her room.
She climbed into her bed, grabbed her little blanket, and ran to the door.
He opened the door and carefully walked step by step to Yi'an's side.
When Yi An groggily opened her eyes, she saw Su Xiaoyu squatting in front of her, looking at her expectantly.
"Xiaoyu, Uncle likes you so much. Can you be Uncle's daughter?"
Su Xiaoyu frowned and looked him up and down with disdain.
"The new dad smells awful."
She carefully draped her small blanket over Yi An and patted his head.
"Xiaoyu accepts you, but you must be good to your mother."
Yi An vaguely heard her say something, but couldn't make it out. When she thought about it and asked again, Su Xiaoyu turned and ran away.
Su Yan heard the sound of the kitchen door opening and closing. She came out and saw Su Xiaoyu sitting obediently on a stool drawing.
She asked, puzzled, "Xiaoyu, did you go out just now?"
Su Xiaoyu shook her head.
Was I hallucinating?
Su Yan clicked her tongue and walked into the kitchen, puzzled.
She prepared the meal, ate with Su Xiaoyu, took her to take a bath, told her a story, and lulled her to sleep before stretching and coming out.
Su Yan took a sip of water, then turned her head and her gaze inadvertently fell on the tightly closed door.
She paused for a moment, took a deep breath, took a quilt from the room, and went over.
Su Yan was stunned when she opened the door.
"Isn't this Xiaoyu's blanket?"
She turned her head and glanced at Su Xiaoyu's room, then suddenly smiled.
"Yi An, you're really quite capable!"
Su Yan casually tossed the blanket onto Yi An, not caring whether it covered her properly, and turned to go inside.
A cold, sarcastic breeze blew in from the window, and Yi An shivered and shrank back, pulling the blanket over herself and curling up into a ball.
While Yi An was sleeping soundly, dinner at the Yi family villa had just ended.
Wu Fen tidied up all the plates and watched Lin Hui leave with Yi Kangle before daring to walk up to Meng Jie.
"lady."
Meng Jie was wearing pajamas and drinking red wine.
"What's wrong?"
"Madam, um... I have something to ask you, um..."
Wu Fen stammered and couldn't answer.
Meng Jie glanced at her and said, "Just say what you have to say. What can't we say to each other?"
With these words from her, Wu Fen felt emboldened and said, "Madam, I overheard what Miss Lin Hui said to Xiao Bao today. The reason Xiao Bao treated Miss Su that way today was because Miss Lin Hui told him that if his father had a new mother, he wouldn't want him anymore."
Meng Jie slammed her wine glass on the table and shouted angrily, "Ridiculous!"
Wu Fen was startled by her sudden outburst. "Madam, please don't be angry."
Meng Jie's face darkened. "Now I finally understand why Yi An didn't want to marry her. She's clearly a proper young lady, yet she has such a petty and narrow-minded nature. She doesn't act like a mother at all!"
Seeing her angry expression, Wu Fen asked cautiously, "Then, Madam, should we tell Yi'an about this?"
Meng Jie's expression softened, and she leaned back against the sofa.
"We can't tell Yi'an about this. If we do, he'll be even more determined to marry Su Yan. Compared to a divorced woman from a poor background who lacks education and vision, someone who can't be a mother is much better."
Wu Fen hesitated, "But if that's the case, Xiao Bao..."
She hesitated, unsure how to continue.
Meng Jie breathed a sigh of relief. "Xiao Bao's problem didn't come out of nowhere; it's closely related to his mother. Xiao Bao can't stay with her anymore. Tomorrow I'll find a school and bring Xiao Bao back to live with me."
Wu Fen's face immediately brightened. "That's great! Madam has such a good idea!"
Wu Fen went back to the kitchen to clean up, while Meng Jie, holding her wine glass, fell into deep thought.
"Is he trying to go against me, or has he really fallen for that woman?"
When Yi'an woke up, she was in pain all over.
He rolled over and hit his hand directly on the wall, waking up in pain.
He covered his hands and looked around in confusion.
"I slept in the hallway all night?!" she asked herself in disbelief.
Before she could react, Su Yan's door was opened from the inside.
Su Yan peeked out and looked at Yi An, who looked bewildered. "Awake? Come in and eat."
"Eat...eat?"
Upon recalling Su Yan's dark-colored sandwich, Yi An immediately waved her hand, "No, no, no... that's not..."
Before he could finish speaking, Su Yan's door had already opened, and he had no choice but to bite the bullet and go inside.
