Wu Fen glanced at Meng Jie, who was sitting at the table eating elegantly, and walked over with the list in her hand.
"Madam, take a look. This is the guest list for Xiaobao's birthday party tomorrow night. Is that alright?"
Meng Jie casually took it, her eyes quickly searching across the list, seemingly looking for something.
She searched the list from beginning to end, but probably didn't find the name she was looking for, so she casually tossed the list onto the table.
"Let's add Su Yan in."
Wu Fen was surprised, but immediately smiled and nodded: "Okay, I'll add it right away!"
As Wu Fen left happily with the birthday party guest list, Lin Hui overheard this sentence from the doorway.
"Add Su Yan's name?"
She could hardly believe her ears.
Lin Hui clenched her fists as Su Yan's words of defiance echoed in her mind.
“Once Aunt Meng has made up her mind, even if you give her twenty grandsons, it won’t make a difference.”
The fact that Su Yan could say it so confidently at the time shows that she wasn't without reason.
Lin Hui's eyes darkened, and she slowly walked inside.
"Aunt Meng."
Following the sound, Meng Jie glanced up at her, then quickly looked down again.
"You're here looking for Xiaobao again? He's at school, you..."
Lin Hui hurriedly interrupted her, "No, I'm not here to see Xiao Bao, I'm here to see you, Aunt Meng. I have something to tell you."
She looked up and met Meng Jie's deep gaze, then immediately realized something and hurriedly apologized.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you."
Meng Jie looked away and casually replied, "Just say what you need to say."
Seeing that Su Yan's attitude towards her had changed drastically, and that she was now being told not to sit down, Lin Hui realized just how many tricks Su Yan had used.
Lin Hui lowered her head, her face filled with sorrow.
“Aunt Meng, I know I was wrong. I’ve thought about it a lot these past few days. No matter how much I love An Ge, and no matter how worried I am about Xiao Bao’s illness, I shouldn’t have resorted to such methods. I was wrong.”
She spoke through tears, and several times she choked up and couldn't continue.
Meng Jie casually replied, "Since you know, that's fine. You're Xiaobao's mother, and no one can interfere with how you want to be a mother."
Lin Hui stepped forward hastily. "Aunt Meng, I haven't been able to eat these past few days because I miss Xiaobao so much. He hasn't been away from me much since he was born, and he hasn't been doing well at all. Could I..."
Before she could finish speaking, Wu Fen quickly walked out of the kitchen again.
"Miss Lin, don't worry. Xiao Bao has been eating well during his stay here. Yesterday, he ate a whole small bowl of rice by himself, and his little tummy was so full. I was worried that he would upset his stomach, so I quickly found some digestive medicine for him."
Lin Hui was stunned for a moment, and then, after realizing what she meant, she immediately said urgently, "If he misses me, he won't stop eating. Eating well doesn't mean he's doing well!"
Wu Fen smiled as she listened to her rebuttal.
“Ms. Lin, Xiao Bao hasn’t cried at all since he came to stay here. He even gets along well with his friends at school and is happy every day. You don’t need to worry about him. I will take good care of him for you!”
"No matter how well you do, can you still be with me..."
Lin Hui was a little angry that Meng Jie kept undermining her. She wanted to retort, but then she realized that Meng Jie was still there. She started to say something, but then swallowed her words back.
She changed her tone, "Aunt Wu, no matter how happy Xiaobao is, he still needs his mother."
Wu Fen noticed that she was not very happy, so she wisely stopped talking to her.
Meng Jie, who had been silent all along, spoke up at this moment: "Lin Hui, I understand your feelings for the child."
Before Lin Hui could speak, Meng Jie continued, "Since you care about Xiao Bao so much and want what's best for him, you certainly wouldn't want any problems to arise at his birthday party tomorrow night, would you?"
Lin Hui was stunned when she heard this.
Why did she hear so many threats coming from it?
She looked up and met Meng Jie's meaningful gaze. She instantly understood what was going on and couldn't say anything. She could only reply in a muffled voice, "Yes, Aunt Meng, I understand."
When Lin Hui came out of the Yi family villa, her face was extremely ugly.
"I don't know what kind of bewitching drug Su Yan gave her. She thought that since Su Yan wouldn't say anything, she would even subtly hint at something to me in order to support Su Yan!"
Her chest heaved with rage. "No, I can't let this continue. I have to destroy it!"
Her eyes gradually hardened, and she pressed the car key, quickly driving away.
In kindergarten, Yi Kangle was having a great time playing with building blocks with Su Xiaoyu when he suddenly heard the teacher call his name.
He put down the building blocks and ran over, only to find that it was Lin Hui who had come to see him.
The moment Yi Kangle heard the news, his little face was full of hesitation.
He hesitated for a long time before finally going to see Lin Hui.
Lin Hui was particularly happy to see Yi Kangle, "Little Bao."
When Yi Kangle saw her walking towards him, he subconsciously shrank back a little.
Lin Hui grew impatient with his timid and submissive demeanor. She grabbed Yi Kangle's arm, blocking his path.
"Do you see that Mommy is unhappy? Where are you going to run off to?"
Yi Kangle shrank back even more when he was suddenly yelled at.
"Mom, Xiaobao knows he was wrong."
Lin Hui, preoccupied with her thoughts, quickly changed her expression.
She knelt down, took Yi Kangle's hand, and said gently, "Xiao Bao, Mommy came to talk to you about your birthday party tomorrow."
